I have been a patient of Dr. Bhat’s for many, many years. He is absolutely wonderful. I was referred to him by another orthopedist for severe back pain. I have scoliosis, osteoporosis, had some herniated disc problems, degenerative disc disease, and a lot of complicated, challenging back issues. I have always been athletic, a jogger, and continue to exercise almost daily. No pain, no gain? Not true… but thanks to Dr.Bhat’s expertise, knowledge, and dedication to helping people feel better, I’m still at it! He is kind, attentive, compassionate, so skilled at his profession. Dr.Bhat takes the time to explain his treatment plan, and any and all questions that one might have. His staff is great, and I am so grateful. If I could give Dr.Bhat ten stars on this review, I would! I have referred many friends to his office, and everyone loves Dr.Bhat. He is truly an incredible physician and such a gentleman. He will give you a short exam and schedule you if he can help with injections. Hope he never retires. That would scare me to have to go elsewhere to treat my spinal stenosis in neck and spine. I’ve been seeing Dr Bhat at Merrimack Valley Spine Center for several years. Him, his PA & his entire office staff are all fantastic. I had an ACDF performed by Dr Lapp (out of this same practice) and he as well as his NP are also fantastic. I’d highly recommend this office.

I saw Dr. Bhat ten years ago for a pierformus problem. I also saw him a few months ago for degenerative disc pain.

He is a great person, explains everything he sees to you in plain language, easy to ask questions to, very helpful and a very nice man. Great doctor and great facility as well. Excellent all around.

Do not go to Dr Bhat on mass production shots day..Thursday. I regretted it immensely. Gave the numbing agent 2 seconds to take affect then slammed me with the needle to the left lower part of my spine. Pain was intense. Then he did the other side but I was ready for him this time..All the while doing this freehand..no xray machine hence no contrast so he couldn't see exactly where to put it.The shots did NOT work. It was a hellish exercise to get out of bed, I was scared to go down a set of stairs and could not walk more than a few steps...Dr. Bhat was able to explain what was going on, and got me back to training at the Dojo within 3 months. I appreciated that he gives the information you need and answer questions you have succinctly and efficiently. If you need to take care of a back problem efficiently without first considering surgery, he is a great professional to turn to.

Dr. Bhat and his staff were kind and friendly. They got me in quickly and took the time with me to determine the best course of action to resolve my issue. The procedures were done in a timely manner and I am as good as new. I am so thankful to have been referred to Bhat and owe my livelyhood to him.

Dr Bhat is truly amazing. I had herniated a disc in my back and was in so much pain I couldn’t even pick up my baby which was heartbreaking. After going to 2 different chiropractors who were unable to help or even alleviate any of my pain, I made the decision to contact Dr Bhat. They scheduled me to be seen right away and even expedited getting me scheduled for an MRI. After diagnosis my issue, he even made time during his lunch to give me a cortisone shot which helped me drastically. I can't express enough how grateful I am that I found Dr. Bhat nearly 10 years ago. I injured a nerve when I was in the Army. For a whole year I dealt with pain in my lower back and numbness going down my left leg. After some imaging, we discovered that my only relief would be cortisone shots. Dr. Bhat listened to my concerns and provides excellent feedback and works with you to get the relief you need. Dr. Bhat and his staff are amazing. I called with a problem and they saw my with in 24 hours. In less than a week, I had two office visits, X-rays, MRI, and injections. I was going on vacation and they squeezed me in. Never once did anyone make me feel awkward about procrastinating, when I was in pain for several weeks. They are all kind, courteous, caring, and professional. I highly recommend them.

Dr Bhat and his staff were so kind and caring. I had an ablation on my neck, not the most comfortable procedure but they were very comforting and got me through.

If I could vote 10 stars I would. This was my first appointment at this office and it was as painless as my hip is now. ???? When I arrived at the office I was only in the waiting room for 5 minutes and in the exam room 5 minutes. Dr. Bhat looked at my x ray and came up with a plan right away. He gave me a cortisone injection to treat my bursitis. Fantastic personal experience here!! The only issue is that I was unaware that the injection site pain would make walking even more painful than it was. 2 days later I forgot I even had hip pain. I wish I would've done this much sooner. I have a lot of problem in my back herniated disc’s touching the nerves bad pain , numbness in my legs and l5 slept 8.9 mm from s1 all what I get from him nothing to do

I am extremely disappointed with my visit with Dr. Baht. At my initial visit I spent ten minutes, if that, with Dr. Baht. I was not able to answer his questions without being cut off with another question. His bedside manner is poor. I felt like I wasting his time. I would not recommend him to other people

I have pain management problem and I am so sensetive to pain. I explain that to the Dr and He prescribe two Xanax for me to take before injection. He was in rush to do injection 10min after I got xanax before med affected. He did first needle with no numbing pad or anything! He tried two places to inject I had sharp pain and told him, he almost kicked me out of his office and said no one react like this when I do injection, go home! Went to see him about my back he told me I was too old for surgery and would only give me shots in the back, I didn't do anything for me. The problems in my back which caused me to lose the use of my right leg, so I went to see a spine surgeon who did the surgery on my back and now my leg is coming back to full use and working well. I have been seeing Dr Bhat for a lumbar nerve root impingement . He has helped reduce my pain significantly over the last several months with interforaminal nerve root injections . He is attentive and supportive . I have recommended him to several people .

I have been a patient of Dr. Bhat's for many years and I would not trust anyone else with managing my back care. I have multiple degenerative issues going on with my back, hips and knees after many years of being a fitness instructor and abusing my body. Dr. Bhat is well aware of all my issues and looks at the whole picture when making recommendations. He doesn't hesitate to make a referral for me if needed. I have gone through years when I needed multiple injections to manage the pain and years when I've needed little-to-no intervention at all. Whenever I return to the office, Dr. Bhat doesn't skip a beat. He remembers everything and listens to my concerns before making his recommendations. I feel very comfortable talking through the pros and cons, so ultimately "we" make the decisions as to the next steps in my healthcare. I always leave the office with a follow-up plan and appreciate the time Dr. Bhat spends with me. He has treated my husband and mom before and always remembers to ask about them and my children. Administratively - I typically can get an appointment within a week of calling and have never waited at the office more than 5-10 minutes for my appointments. The staff is pleasant and prompt. I've been at least 4 times since the start of COVID and always felt safe. On injection days, the staff is always friendly and efficient. Dr. Bhat's pleasant bedside manner and ability to minimize my sometime's anxious thoughts, is much appreciated. I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Bhat...... he is soft spoken and very kind. I have been dealing with a back/neck but mostly shoulder issue. He recently gave me a cortisone injection under X-ray which I was told is very painful but he was amazing! Where do I start? I don’t leave reviews on anything, but HAD to do this one!!!! There aren’t enough good things to say about Dr. Bhat Atul. I am a young professional, under the age of 30, in a great fitness shape. In March of 2021 I had the WORST back pain I could’ve ever imagined. I couldn’t walk, stand, sit or even sleep. I called Dr. Bhat’s office and they had me in their office within 24 hours. His staff are so kind and welcoming. They took an x-ray and within minutes I was seen by the Dr. I explained my pain and concerns, they referred me to get an MRI. Within 48 hours, I was seen again and they gave me hope. I got two Injections and I am so happy with the results. Dr. Bhat, you saved me. I was starting to lose hope after seeing many PTs, Chiropractors and other doctors for the last THREE YEARS. Their solution was just to “stretch, Massage and sit up straight, don’t workout, don’t snowboard, no X-ray or MRI necessary”. Dr. Bhat understood my pain and knew exactly what I was feeling without having to finish most of my sentences. I am forever grateful for you! My husband has been seeing Dr. Bhat for a couple of months now. He has been terrific. We saw another doctor who couldn't wait to do surgery on his back. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Bhat and his team at OSA orthopedics. His approach to care is personal and thorough. As a patient, he took he time to get to know me, listen to and understand my unique needs, and develop a personalized treatment plan. Everyone at the practice - from administrators, medical assistants, and nursing staff - are warm and welcoming. They dedicate extra time getting to know their patients.  I am extremely happy with the care I’ve received from Dr. Bhat and his team and would highly recommend his practice.

Dr. Bhat is exceptionally skilled. I have been treated by "experts" is Boston teaching hospitals, pain clinics that specialize in back issues, and teaching hospitals in Florida. Not a single provider in any of these places had Dr. Bhat skill. I measure skill based on the amount of relief I've gotten after a procedure, the period of the relief, and how long it took to do the procedure. I have never gotten the relief from anyone that he has provided. And, his procedure time is very, very fast; hits the mark every time!

I came in with a very painful lower back. Dr Bhat was open, compassionate, concerned and competent. Rather than going the injection route he recommended that I start with PT which I totally agreed with. If one doesn't need an injection - one should not get it. I started PT and am hopeful that the pain will be taken care of. He had no trouble deciding on the best diagnostic test in order to rule out severe issues.

My experience with Dr. Bhat, Stacy and all of the office personnel was compassionate expertise. I highly recommend this practice as an outstanding conduit for healing.

I have had SI joint pain for over three years. Dr. Bhatt has given me injections on 3 separate occasions. I had wonderful and complete relief for 9 months to over a year each time. The injection I received 6 weeks ago did not relieve my pain. Dr. Bhatt suggested that I try PT for a few weeks to see if I have any relief before considering any more procedures. I love the fact that he considers all options before recommending new procedures. He will speak with me in a few weeks to assess my progress and only then decide if another procedure is necessary. I fully trust his judgement.

Dr Bhat is a doctor who cares! He takes the time with me every time I see him and is not only a great doctor, but a kind soul. Extremely compassionate and has always helped me out on every visit. Dr. Bhat is a very caring and compassionate person. He takes the time to listen to all your concerns/issues and thoroughly discusses options and treatments. His extensive education and knowledge of the neck and spine are impressive -- he was the only Dr. to correctly diagnose my nerve condition (after many years of misdiagnoses) and sent me to a specialist who set up an appropriate pain management plan. I saw Dr. Bhat for pain from a herniated disc. Dr. Bhat was great! I found him to be a warm and caring doctor. He really took the time to sit and listen to me. After being in pain for months my pain is now gone and I feel great. Thank you to Dr. Bhat and the nurses that work with him for such great service!

A couple of years ago while in Cardiac Rehab at Lowell General I had my first issue with my back. I had intense pain and could not continue with my rehab. The nursing staff suggested only one doctor to see which was Dr. Bhat. I call immediately and saw him in the office within a day or two. I had x-rays and a CT scan and he told me that it confirmed a disc in my lower back. A couple of days later I had my first of two spinal injections. Although not the most comfortable thing I have done but 5 to 10 seconds later it was over. I immediately had relieve and felt 75 percent better. Two weeks later I had my second injection and within a week I was back to my regular routine. I was pain free for two years until this past fall when it started over again. Called, immediate appointment. Same procedures as before and again immediate relief. I want to thank Dr. Bhat and his staff. Always there to help and always professional.

I found a very compassionate doctor in Dr Bhat. He tried everything possible to help me but was not able. He truly was very sorry he was unable to help. I rate Dr Bhat a solid ten for knowledge, compassion and sincerely caring for me.

What a well functioning machine. My first evaluation was a pleasant visit with DJ, Dr. Bhat's physician's assistant. He ordered an MRI so I would have everything Dr. Bhat would need for my first visit with him. HE IS SO WONDERFUL! Dr. Bhat's injection technique was quick, and I was up and walking out of the office all without delay. My follow-up visit to check my post-injection relief was also wonderful (not just because I felt better)! I have to say, it was the most efficient specialist experience I have had.

Initially I was put off by the appointment making process. You will not speak to a receptionist, you will be dumped into a voicemail and will wait for a return call. After waiting three weeks to speak to a human, I was given an appointment. On the day of my appointment I tried to call ahead and make sure everything was all set with my referral and records. As mentioned before, no humans, just voicemail. I showed up for my appointment only to be told that my doctor's office made an error with my referral listing another provider from their office. She also said she had known about this for nearly a week. No attempts were made to contact me. I immediately called my PCP to get the issue resolved. I was then told that it was 10 minutes past my appointment time and they would have to reschedule. While waiting I overheard them tell two other patients that they needed to reschedule for being "late". It seems to me that a doctor who schedules appointments every 10 minutes is not the type of provider I want to see. I mean, how well can you understand a person's medical condition in 10 minutes or less? Needless to say, it has been a week since my appointment was canceled. I am still waiting for my rescheduled appointment phone call. You can be sure I will be going some place else! Dr. Bhat and his staff are awesome! I have been seeing Dr. Bhat for over 2 years with neck pain due to a car accident. he is kind and attentive, and fully listens to your concerns. My appointments have always been punctual, and the staff is very friendly. I recently had a cortisone shot in my neck which I was extremly nervous about and the whole team, including Dr. Bhat made me feel very comfortabl during the short prodecure. I would highly recommend their office for neck and back pain.

My experience with Dr. Bhat was amazingly positive! My doctor at Lahey couldn’t get me in for a cortisone shot for a month. I saw Dr. Bhat on Thursday and had my first cortisone shot the following Tuesday. His bedside manner during the cortisone shot was outstanding. Seen him for back issues that still continue, i was crying in pain in front of him and he made me feel like a druggie. I will never go back, my current doctor tried to schedule and appt for him i told my doctor to look out of my network, I will never see a LGH Doctor again. They push for their pockets not patients.

Love Dr. Bhat. I was out of pain before I left his office the first time. Went back and finished the injections and have been basically pain free for about 2 and a half years. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

When I saw him after the MRI, he showed me the images and explained exactly what was going on with my spine. I responded well to the physical therapy for about 6 months. I see Dr. Bhat for lower back pain. He is professional and very caring. I began with X-rays, MRI, and physical therapy. Dr. Bhat shared the films with me and explained all the spinal problems I have. Physical therapy kept me pretty comfortable for about six months, but then the pain worsened. I returned and had steroid injections which worked very well. I have had no problems with the office staff, they have all been professional and helpful.

I can't say enough about Dr Bhat and his staff. I was greeted with smiles even at the end of the work day. Dr Bhat never make me wait and always greets me with a warm smile and a hand shake. He listens to everything I have to say and asks all the right questions to make me feel that my pain is validated. He has done everything in his power to alleviate my pain quickly and as pain free as large needles can be!! If I could give him 100 stars I would and I'm so thankful to have found him.

Dr. Bhat has been helping me with spinal stenosis and radicular pain for several years. He does spinal injections into my neck, which are quite painful for a minute or so, but help a lot to reduce the pain and improve my range of motion in the longer term. So far, I've avoided spinal surgery (knock on wood).

I see Dr. Bhat for injections. He is compassionate, understanding, and takes the time to figure out the cause of the pain, not just treat the symptoms. His staff is great, although it does take them a while to return calls sometimes. The girls in the injection room are great. They hold your hand and talk you through the injection and explain everything as Dr. Bhat is doing it. They're very down to earth and make the whole experience more tolerable. I recently was admitted to see Dr Bhat via an emergency appointment as I had a herniated disc pressing on a nerve causing extreme pain. He was able to administer an epidural immediately which relieved the pain and reduced the swelling. He took time to listen to my concerns and explained the problem I was having. I am now following up with him as a patient. I would highly recommend Dr Bhat to others

Just another typical doctor working for a Big Pharma. He would not x-ray my neck on the same day I'm guessing because they wanted additional office visits. He told me that at my age, 53, herniated discs were and are "normal," and asked why I bothered coming if I knew I didn't want to cortisone injection already. Apparently, a cattle call for steroids because these provide him with a terrific living. When I ask questions about alternative therapies, he said to make another appt.

I've been DR Bhat patience for a while now with my scoliosis, my discs Hermia ext... after the nerve injection, my severe pain went from 20 to an 8 .... Dr Bhat help me allot copping with my pain.

Dr Atul Bhat , did not listen to any of my back pain concerns I was rushed out with some pain meds. In and out in last them 5 min. I will not recommend anyone friends and family to go see Dr. Atul Bhat.

I have already recommended Dr. Bhat to family members. I am a professional dancer/actor whose back pain was keeping me from starting rehearsals for an upcoming show in NYC. I didn't really have a back specialist in Lowell but seeing that Dr. Bhat's residency was at NYU/Rusk - which I knew to be excellent, prompted me to make an appointment. Unbelievably I saw him on Friday and was dancing again by the following Thursday. Everyone in his office was warm and forthcoming.

I am extremely disappointed with my visit with Dr. Baht. At my initial visit I spent ten minutes, if that, with Dr. Baht. I was not able to answer his questions without being cut off with another question. His bedside manner is poor. I felt like I wasting his time. I would not recommend him to other people.

Dr Bhatt was very professional and patient with me. I went to him with extreme debilitating pain in both shoulders and arms. The injection I got hurt a bit but I am now 80 percent better and able to cope better with the pain and weakness that remains and am functioning again. He is very good at what he does.

Dr bhat is amazing to bad his staff is snobby judge mental and snappy !!! They talk to you like your a piece of poop . Not organized and blame you !! They don't talk to you as an individual but a group pain of people bothering them . I wouldn't go back to a good dr do to the horrible staff service

Dr. Baht is wonderful! I'm on the UMass Lowell women's rowing team and I've seen him for a year now. He's very helpful and informative. He definitely knows what he's talking about. He helped find out exactly what was wrong with my back and everything I could do to take care of it. He's so nice and very good at what he does.
