Dr. Asish Mukherjee

This doctor wasted my TIME. My first appointment with him, he was just borderline rude and made jokes for when I didn’t know what a suppository was. “So you know what a tampon is, but not a suppository?! How do you not know what a suppository is!?,” then proceeded to laugh. He examined me and got angry when I wasn’t positioned correctly, and basically got my hands and positioned me correctly(so unprofessional...) He wasted my time by just prescribing me these unnecessary suppositories that didn’t end up working, and he KNEW I was chronic from the start with an fissure. My last recent appointment, he just ended up referring me to another doctor which, if I was gonna get surgery all along, why didn’t you JUST REFER ME IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN I SAW YOU A FEW MONTHS PRIOR(the summer). I couldve gotten a surgery and dealt with it in the summer. Overall, I felt uncomfortable with him as my doctor and I wasted 8-10 weeks of my time with those suppositories. I don’t recommend at ALL!

Terrible experience...I found him abrasive, dismissive, unprofessional and his staff was simply rude. He referred me to the University of Michigan because the surgery he suggested to have done was too extensive for him. Come to find out he misdiagnosed me and if it were not for the physician at UM I would have had an unnecessary procedure. Get 2nd opinions before undergoing anything with Dr. Mukherjee.

dr. mukerjhee is kind and not embarrassing to talk with. he is very gentle and cares a lot not to cause pain. highly recommended!
