Dr. Ashby Miner Jordan

Dr Jordan seems to be a great doctor but their office staff are rude and not helpful. I was trying to find when I first received my CPAP machine, which Dr Jordan told me was on recall, and all I got from the lady who answered the phone was “we don’t have that information.”. I know they have it because Jordan showed it to me. They need to fix their office problems.

I have no idea why there are bad reviews about the Elgin office or Dr. Jordan. Everyone is polite, patient, and understanding. I have a rare genetic disorder and neurocognitive disorder. My appointment had to be changed on their end due to change in drs. They phoned me and I had to schedule a ride because I don't drive due to seizures. They were so kind about it. When I did see Dr. Jordan, he remembered me from the hospital (where he was really nice to me) and was patient while I wrote stuff down and he made sure I understood everything. Everyone was polite, patient, and understanding. I have a rare genetic disorder and neurocognitive disorder. My appointment at the Elgin office had to be changed on their end due to change in drs. They phoned me and I had to schedule a ride because I don't drive due to seizures. They were so kind about it. Dr. Jordan's staff is completely rude and unaccommodating even when they should be trying to resolve a situation of their own creation. Customer Service means nothing to the office staff! I am very disappointed with Dr. Jordan and his staff in the Elgin office. My relative who has been very sick is a patient of Dr Jordans and I made several calls to the office, leaving several messages asking Dr Jordan to call me. Never did I receive a return call. I made a special trip in person to his office to reach out and request a call from Dr Jordan where I encountered the staff lady at the front window who was snippy, argumentive, and condesending. She gave me a really hard time but after much conversation, I got her to send Dr Jordan a message. I have now been waiting several days, again with no reply or return phone call back to me. Apparently, my relatives critical situation and my plea for help fell on deaf ears, which tells me a lot about this Dr and his lack of compassion towards his patients. After being ignored and treated the way I was by his staff, I would not recommend using this doctor, not because of his lack of skills, but because no one wants to be ignored or blown off by a medical professional. I reached out in a very critical urgent time and he failed the patient and the family. Find a doctor that will treat your needs with care,concern and dignity. Dr. Jordan was my husband's pulmonologist. My husband had COPD, high blood pressure, and diabetes, high risk for Covid. He was admitted to Sherman Hospital with a cough. Dr. Jordan and Dr. Ignacio discharged him after the cough abated although he had tested twice for Covid, was high risk, and I was an active case at home. He refused to even consider monoclonal antibody infusion or remdisivir. He was condescending and superior. My husband was readmitted with much more serious symptoms 24 hours later and died 10 days later. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He did not care about my husband.

hi-my husband was referred to you by his heart doctor-we have been calling both Elgin and Barrington numbers to make an appointment but they say office closed.Can anyone help us. Rick and Diane Taylor

Twice now Dr. Jordan and his partners have treated me when my breathing was horrible. I'm very grateful for their care and the fact that I will never smoke a cigarette again thanks to them. I definitely recommend them.

Staff is not willing to help much. They act like your bothering them if you need something. called many times to try to get one thing done. It's a shame because Dr. Jordan is great!

DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR! Do yourself a favor and do not see him even if he is the only one with an opening. That is how I ended up there. Guess there is a reason he had openings. He would not listen to me- he told my OB (I was pregnant when I saw him) that I was making up my symptoms. I ended up at NMW (thank goodness) and the tumor in my chest was so big that my oncologist said I was within days of being fatal all because of this doctors arrogance since he would not listen to me. I had to beg him to give me an xray. I can go on and on but please choose another oncologist! DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR! Dr Jordan only cares what he thinks. He won’t listen to a word you say and it will make you sicker because of it. Once he has decided what it is there is no changing his mind. I think he looks down on women and thinks that they are often overreacting when they ARE NOT. Unless the situation is critical there are better pulmonary specialists available who will actually listen to you.

Dr. Jordan has been great! However, the receptionist needs to develop a friendly and customer service attitude.

Very poor communication and follow up. When you finally do talk with someone days later you get a bunch of excuses as to why (short staffed, a lot of patients in the office etc). Dr Jordan may or may not be a good doctor, too soon to really tell for me but his staff is horrible, lazy and rude. Don’t waste your time.

I liked Dr. Jordan very much. His office staff is medically incompetent. I saw him solely to check a CPAP and make adjustments. They promised to download the data the next day. After sleeping terribly for a month, I learned they didn't download it or follow up. When I complained, I got a surly attitude. I called the manufacturer who said they'd never submitted required documents. Several calls later, they finally got the data but gee, "I needed no adjustments." A $200 co-pay for zero. Not happy.

I have been going to Dr. Jordan for about 10 years for Sleep Apnea therapy. He is attentive to me when I am there and does thorough investigation during annual visits. I have been to both their locations but prefer the Barrington office due to how close it is for me. He has been accommodating for me when I wanted to change my CPAP equipment due to my preferences, and has always conducted our visits with professionalism. Please DO NOT use this this pulmonary care provider. We started out with Dr. Jordan, who is so full of himself that he does not care to listen to patients, and laughs when a patient describes their symptoms as if they are making them up. In addition, the office staff on Randall Road is a joke. The receptionist who answers the phone is very rude. I don't know how she has managed to keep her job as long as she has. The office staff is incompetent. The doctors are not available when needed and if you have to cancel an appointment for whatever reason, it takes 3 - 4 weeks to reschedule. We were very, very dissatisfied with the care we received from the doctors associated with this practice and will never recommend them to anyone. Please DO NOT use this this pulmonary care provider. I went to Dr. Jordan after seeing many other doctors who could not find the problem with an extreme cough. Dr. Jordan did a scope and found stomach acid in my lungs. He saved my life. Yes, I recommend him to others.

I would NEVER ever recommend this doctor. He did not listen to me, he told my other doctor that I had "Sammy Sosa's" disease indicating that I was making up my symptoms. Had I not been so ill, I would have filed a formal complaint against this doctor. When I finally made it to my oncologist and moving to NWM that doctor told me that I was not within hours of being fatal, but within days. If I listened to Dr. Jordan who sent me home to rest, I most likely would not be here.

The competency of the office staff is frightening. Lost records were normal experience. Initial office visit and Rx for ARES Sleep Study were lost. Rx for titration test was never delivered to the hospital. Sherman Hospital tried to resolve the issue but could not get the office staff to cooperate. The staff argued saying that I never was a patient. I think that Dr. Jordan is competent, but a mistake by the office staff can be equally dangerous. I'll finish elsewhere.
