Dr Asaf Gave operated on me and I almost died. I had an open wound for 4 months with MRSA twice. He was cold and arrogant. I kept getting reinfected and his response was :What do you want from me? I saved your life." I finally went to NYU Wound care. The incision healed and I recovered, Run don't walk, away from him.

I had a visit with this Dr. Gave today about my broken rib which didn't heal for 7 months. He was extremely rude and nasty! So unprofessional! Told me that he is not going to prescribe me painkillers, which I never asked. And that my rib will heal in 3-4 months. As soon as I said it's been 7 months since I broke it, he said that he is not helping and not dealing with me! He also said call the lawyer. Unbelievable! Those kinds of "doctors" are around us!! When I was diagnosed, he told me it was "routine"hernia. procedure and no big deal. He seemed bored. Long waiting times in the office . Post surgery had major pain. When I told him, he just shrugged. He said that "surgery was perfect". Later I had to go to ER for related nausea. He was unconcerned without empathy. Told me I'd have to live with it. Years later I still have pain. Avoid. There are much better doctors!

Dr. Gave operated on my mother and provided the very best care. Besides being a talented surgeon, he is thorough, caring and respectful. He followed up with my family and made calls to other doctors long after “his work” was done (and late on a Friday night) to ensure my mom was nursed back to health. Dr Gave saved my life! He is an amazing doctor and was there for me for my colonoscopy and reversal. He is a wonderful doctor and I’m very thankful!

Dr. Gave performed an umbilical hernia operation and several years later an inguinal hernia operation on me. I was extremely satisfied with the results. At the time he was at Beth Israel Hospital which to my understanding I was not as well funded as Weil-Cornell, yet despite the prestige of Weill-Cornell I was much more impressed with Dr. Gave than the "star" hernia surgeon at Weill-Cornell, and I am glad that I chose Dr. Gave. Dr. Gave is a quiet modest doctor for whom I have great respect.

I can't recommend Dr. Gave highly enough. I have known him for years before I needed him emergently as a physician, and he was absolutely wonderful; accommodating, direct, professional, skilled, no-nonsense. I trust him implicitly and recommend him very very highly.
