About Dr. Asad Hamid Khan
Reviews for Dr. Asad Hamid Khan
So impressed with Dr Khan. He reviewed my medical history and issues and prescribed a medication which started helping within 4-5 days. But what I appreciated the most about him is that he explained the reason for selecting the medication, the potential side effects and the reason he thought it was the best choice. I appreciated getting the why part of the selection. So many times I get a prescription without all of that information unless I look it up myself. Also appreciated that he got right to the point on things. So happy I found him.
Dr. Khan and Seth are AMAZING! Never felt so mentally healthy and taken care of in my life - especially thanks to Seth.
Been seeing this doctors office for over a year. In that time, my doctor was changed twice without notice from the office. Unprofessional act at best. I had a history with a few medications that did not work with me, when told about them it was insisted that I give them a try again anyway. I was uncomfortable with this. I tried 4 or 5 medications with them and what was working was the simplest regiment with therapy. When I told the office I was not comfortable taking these 2 new medications as they were not needed for me, I was told they would not be writing me the medication that did work for me. Essentially I would take what they told me or I would get nothing. EXTREMELY unprofessional behavior when I said I was not comfortable with the side effects and he said “Aspirin lists bleeding out in side effects but I would give a patient it for a heart attack so you are taking the side effects too seriously.” Forceful, rude, and simply does not care to treat you when more money can be had.

EDIT 5/11/22: I found a WAY BETTER psychiatrist … Dr. Gary Frick & his Nurse Practitioner, Cynthia Baxter in Port Orange. What a difference in empathy, knowledge, intelligence, bedside manner, office staff’s compassion and manners, ability to get a quick appointment if urgent … I could go on and on. I’m THRILLED that I changed psychiatrists! ———————————————————————- I’ve been a “snowbird” patient for 4years & saw Dr Khan & Rubi. Personally, I like both of them very much. However, I had a really bad manic episode in 2016 and was treated with BENADRYL … for over a WEEK! I had pacing nonstop, hallucinations & couldn’t sleep more than 2-3 hours a night if at all! I lost 20 pounds in that 1 week from pacing and no appetite. So I went to ER 3 times over the weekend & got Haldol injections each time. Finally, I had to insist to Rubi that she get approval from Dr Khan to change my medication! I was near-suicidal! While we were on our way to the ER, I was getting out of the car when we were stopped at traffic lights on 5- & 6-lane highways so I could pace during the red lights because I was SO agitated and jumpy that I could NOT sit still in the car. I paced in the ER hallways & my tiny ER exam room (ER staff did NOT like that!), but the Haldol worked within about 15-20 minutes. After a medication change, I improved slowly within a few days, a little bit more each day. Office staff is constantly changing too! They have NO IDEA what they’re doing! Worst office I’ve ever been to. WOW!!! Looking at the other reviews, I noticed another review where Dr. Asad Khan reviews HIMSELF here and he gives himself a 5-STAR REVIEW! Wow! Wonder if the other 5-star reviews are his employees …. EDIT 5/11/22: I found a WAY BETTER psychiatrist … Dr. Gary Frick & his Nurse Practitioner, Cynthia Baxter in Port Orange. I’ve been a patient of this office for going on a year now and I must say that I am terribly disappointed in the service that is provided. There are many issues in this office. At least a few HIPPA violations including being able to hear other patients conversations going on while speaking with their doctor behind closed doors from the waiting room. Depending on who helps you from behind the desk is also disappointing, often the office staff is rude and inattentive. I have called the office multiple times To ask a question to my provider, then to be told by the desk to expect a call back after they can speak with the doctor….. I’ve been told that at least 10 times by the front desk and have never received a call back. These questions are in regards to scheduling appointments and getting refills on medications. This office will also refuse to fill medication refills if you haven’t been seen recently. A very frustrating office to deal with, I think they have way to many patients on their plate to provide real personal service, it feels like these doctors don’t even remember you from your last appointment I would look elsewhere if you are selecting a new provider. Dr. Adam is a decent guy. Office Staff needs a whole lot of work!! They scheduled a video call for May, which was approved..I had to scheduled sooner (last week of April) before insurance changed. This Vidio chat was also Approved a week ago as I'm currently in Stuart Florida!! Spoke with Kay..She wanted to argue rather than saying "I can see what I can do to confirm this for you" I told Kay to give me a call once she gets this issue straightened out!!! Spoke with Stephanie 15 minutes later...apparently Kay canceled my appointment!!! These Young Girls want to insist what I was mistaken about the Video chat being Approved WITHOUT CONFIRMING this APPROVAL with Dr. Adam and Kahn!! The staff is super friendly and I cannot thank Dr. Khan enough for all of his help. He explains things in a way that is super easy to understand and genuinely cares plus he definitely has the credentials to back it up. Again thank you all for all of your help.

This office is disturbingly disgusting . The woman who work in the office are excuse my language but GHETTO as all get out . The dr doesn’t care at all about patients but about money . I had an appt scheduled here for mental health and I and my significant other checked RIGHT on out upon the realization of the facility . Upon deciding it was not a good fit or environment they proceeded to inform me that becuz I am missing an appt they are charging me $150 . I see physicians at Dr. Khan’s office for my mental health and all I can say is Mrs. Dee is a life saver. She is the supervisor and is always looking out for her patients. Mrs. Dee does an amazing job clearly explaining any confusion and working hard EVERYDAY to ensure her patients are well taken care of. She has never let me go without medication and ensures I am treated fairly regularly. I couldn’t be more thankful for her expertise and I would recommend Mrs. Dee to anyone anywhere. If you are looking for an intelligent and diligent supervisor I would recommend Mrs. Dee a thousand times over! Dr. Khan if you are seeing this message Mrs. Dee deserves a raise. It is well earned. I'm not sure what these negative reviews are coming from, but I have depression, anxiety, and panic disorder, possibly amongst other things. I've never had any issues with the women that work the front desk. They are ALWAYS polite and respectful! Calling someone ghetto because they have a different culture than you is extremely deplorable! The dr I see here has been more than accommodating to every issue I've ever had, from offering video appointments, to filling multiple months worth of my prescription at a time knowing I'm a single mom working 6 days a week. Even when I was having issues with my insurance, he was willing to help! I was psychoanalyzed and wasn't treated.
Refuses to bill my insurance company so I had to stop going.
Not sure how this dude has a license. Just read the other reviews. This practice is a predatory bloodsucking scam.
I have been a In Home Caregiver for my client in California since 2004.We recently moved to Florida. My client had been mentally ill since 1996.He is also my son .This was are first visit with Asad Khan and the worst medical experience in all these years. He did not greet us with a smile, empathy of any kind.He spent more time displeased with me in the room.He didn't even look at the Medical Representative forms I brought showing him I'm his medical representative. He kept asking if I was his Power of Attorney.I said no he manages his own money but that I will be making a call about wanting the power to have a say about what he's given for meds and care.I didn't get that though t to him at all.He told me to not say a word and raise my hand if I wanted to add a comment. He frowned and a as negative. He rolled his eyes at my Client/son several times. He never asked for his meds which I brought. He even asked why my husband and I separated after 27 years of marriage.Thats none of his business it really nerved me so I told him my best friend got my husband. My sons meds have given him myositis and Tartive Dykensia, anxiety, insomnia, weight loss.I decided to leave the room which I have never done with a new Dr.until my son is comfortable with that person. It was the first time.I don't know what he said to my son.Dr.Asad came out in lobby few minutes later and said literally to me he's an adult.Wow! Than said there's a hospital up the street.I definitely expressed my thoughts about that to him .The front desk girl did not care that we were both devastated and handed my son a piece of paper with 6 different Psychiatrist names.I immediately saw none of them are in his network or are not taking patients. This is a clinic and I have filed a grievance with my son's medical insurance.I told this Dr.i I as going to file a grievance he said to file one .As a medical caregiver working for the state of California side by side with Doctors, social workers, and Adult Protection Services have my son and I ever experienced a Dr like Asad Khan .My needs different medications.I DO NOT Recommend this Clinic and Dr.for your client or loved one for mental Health . Worst doctor I have ever been to, he took me off all my meds that worked for me and he put me on his meds that don't work, he won't listen to you at all and he's a very arrogant man.
This Doctor is a miracle worker. I have been to a lot pf psychiatrists but never was able to resolve my issues. He definitely knows what he is doing . Had a great experience . Would Highly recommend Dr Khan .
No Way! This doctor is a joke. Wouldn’t even call him a doctor. They just want to get your money not help you.
Don't waste your time with this doctor. He is not concerned with helping you, only with how much money he can make from you. He has a very large and quick staff turnover which should tell you something about his ethics.

Don't bother.
I went to Dr. Khan's office for a few months for PTSD. They put me on medication that may have triggered seizures, then after I left their practice they sent me a bill for all of my copays despite not seeing me unless I paid them.
Stay clear away from this place. They will make you feel welcome. While literally lying to you the whole time. Don’t trust the manger is the biggest problem there. Along with the doctor who only cares about money and not his patients
Worst experience ever!!! Waited 2 weeks for just a call back after being told they would get back to me inside a week. Finally I called office only to be put on hold for 6 mins and told " we have no idea when we will call you back dor an appointment" and they hung up. We had a very negative experience with Dr. Asad Khan and Rubina Hermani, nurse practitioner. Please avoid using this practice. People seeking attention need to go where there is compassion, caring, will organized procedural and efficient practice.
Just trying to get an appointment here has been extremely frustrating. They only make appointments for new patients in the mornings, no exceptions. So if you work every morning and you can't take time off, you're basically screwed. That makes zero sense. No thank you, I'll just get a referral somewhere else.
They dismissed three prior psychiatrists diagnoses and stated I did not need Adhd medication but rather needed to get a job. A job is extremely hard to keep unmedicated when your mind is going 100 mph and you have memory problems. They are openly condescending and extremely apathetic. Everyone should steer clear of these doctors.
On December 19, 2007, a DEA regulation came into effect that allows a prescriber to issue multiple prescriptions authorizing an individual patient to receive a total of up to a 90-day supply of a Schedule II controlled substance. This is the law. Do not believe a prescriber that tells you that they cannot give you more than one prescription (of a controlled substance) per visit and makes you come in every month for a prescription refill. Generally, always expect to leave with a 90-day supply of your controlled schedule II medication or find another prescriber. I have been seeing Dr. Kahn for a couple of months now. There is a reason he has loyal patients! If you’re looking for a quality Psychiatrist with friendly, professional office staff, your search is over.
Dr Khan and his ARNP Adam are amazing. They have both greatly helped me with my mental health through the course of being a patient. The office staff switches up regularly but the doctors are the most important part! If you follow the drs instructions for care you will get great help here.
This group is great!! Dr Asad is very attentive...listens and then makes a plan based on what "your" personal issues are and what his assessment is. He is highly trained. (I did my homework). I waited a month for this appointment, I filled out the lengthy packet of new patient paperwork, and after 25 minutes of instrusive questions with little conversational etiquette and eye contact I was refused service because he & his staff "could not handle the severity of your case". I made Khan aware that I was COMPLETELY out of my medications (for serious mental illnesses) and I was told to go to my old, out-of-network psychiatrist and to have them write me emergency scripts because "it's their obligation"; my old psychiatrist office does not write scripts without an appointment and evaluation by said psychiatrist. Medical & Psychiatric Institute of FL INC boasts about a lengthy list of qualifications and treatments options by a board certified, professor of psychiatry, yet I was denied service from an in-network psychiatrist? Unbelievable! Their inadequacy is costing me $185 (for an out-of-network psychiatry appointment with my old psychiatrist) and the security of my new job!
Horrible! If you have PTSD and want to change medications, don't bother going here; arrogant, pulled me off many meds and substituted a poison pill. The trauma i had in the office 2x was terrible, and my BP went up to 225/110 and he let me out of that office. My husband said its just like all the other ones. All they can do is 'act' intelligent and get out their prescription plans. Beware! We had to get me to the pcp for BP meds for months; 33 days i lay in bed with a BP cuff on, o, and they cancel appts. when they feel like it......constant turnover of staff. this was late 2018.

Don’t bother coming here. They made me try tons of mediciation that I voiced wasn’t helping at all but they didn’t care because they got their money. I was passed back and forth between nurse practitioners, which after my first visit were all that I saw, and when I finally found one that understood and tried to help me, they drove him away. The “psychiatrist” Dr. khan doesn’t care about your well being, when I had told him I was having actual heart problems due to the medication they gave me he told me to just keep taking it but only half. Didn’t try to do anything else. I went to my primary doc and they told me to immediately stop it. Hmm. I finally started therapy like they had told me would help, which has, but I had to stop taking the medication because of the simple fact that I’m very sensitive and get pretty much every side effect that makes it more unbearable and more problems then before. Naturally, I stopped taking them and voiced this to them, now months later they are trying to BULLY me into taking medication again or they won’t be able to provide me with therapy anymore. This facility is mostly trash. You pay to see Dr. Khan but after the first visit, you could possibly never see him again. There is a major revolving door for the staff. There is a different person each time. The assistant refused to refill meds and claimed that I was going to different doctors to get more pills. The appointment time was not honored. The doctor was rude and he mumbled. I could not comprehend what he was saying.
He is not worthy of the star I was forced to leave. This very rude, arrogant man has the biggest ego and control issues. He acts as if having a title gives him permission to treat others like subhuman. So disrespectful.

My experience with this office was great! From the very beginning they made my appointment scheduling process an easy one. Decided he was treating ADHD anymore, dropped me a ADHD patient in crisis from a medication he prescribed on my first visit. One I had to stop based on emergency warning signs he had indicated.
Moved to FL and needed a new doctor. I've been taking the same meds for years so I figured it would be easy to just go in and get the scripts needed. He told me I was missing a note from my old doctor. 2nd appointment I bring it, says now I need other tests. 3rd appointment they say one of the tests didn't reach his office and blamed me for it. Treated me like a drug addict and refused to give me meds because I had a DUI 12 years ago. Complete incompetent idiots and his assistant is equally as bad. So 3 appointments, a bloodwork test, and an AKC scan, 4 days out of work, and $100 in co-pays and I accomplished the same as if I never left my house. I have no idea how they are in practice. Moved to FL and needed a new doctor. I've been taking the same meds for years so I figured it would be easy to just go in and get the scripts needed. AMAZING!???? He's a Psychiatric Addiction Specialist, but you get the care of a Primary Physician. Dr. Khan is caring and knowledgeable! The specific treatment his office provides is truly the best around-HAS TO BE #1 IN FLORIDA! They have been expanding, and adding services. He's added a couple therapists. I like mine a lot! I'm so excited to start setting and attaining bigger and better goals. I've had one appointment with the offices new Nurse Practitioner. She's a No-Nonsense A.R.N.P.. I appreciate how well informed/educated she is about this niche in the psyche world-the medication assisted addiction therapy. Everyone is sweet and respectful. 100% NON-JUDGEMENTAL. Safe Zone! First and only Doctors office that doesn't judge you. It's important because shame is one of the worst parts of being an addict! It's also a big reason people relapse. Seeing dr khan was one of the worst decisions of my life. His assistants told me conflicting info, he put me on benzos knowing I was an alcoholic and when I wanted to wean off he said it wasn’t advised. There was extremely high turnover with the therapists and front staff. It all felt intimidating and confrontational from the get go. He more or less made me less open minded about treatment at all.
I will never go to this Dr again. He acts like he's some big shot professor doing research on you and then asks extremely inappropriate questions. Even when you tell him you don't want to answer his bizarre questions he'll continue asking BS. Has his own agenda. Treats you like a lab rat. I don't trust him and I don't know where he teaches, but he's not intelligent, in my opinion.
My experience with Dr. Khan has always been pleasant, thorough, and beneficial for the last 1+ year I've been a patient. I have no problem with scheduling (even last minute appointments when necessary!) and anytime I've called to leave a message, I have always received a phone call back. Dr. Khan is an intelligent, patient, and kind man that I trust completely with my treatment. I appreciate his straight-forward approach. Highly recommend him.
Yes I moved to Florida and wanted prescriptions I had been taking for years . That have worked very well for me . However I am not 16 years old , I am ancient , and I am very aware of my medical history . He had his own agenda . Do not waste your time or money on this quack !
Probably the worst doctor there is. I just moved to Florida and all I needed was a doctor to write me the same prescriptions I've been taking for years. I go to him and he makes me go through 3 appointments just to eventually tell me that he won't write me any prescriptions because I had a DUI 12 years ago and treated me like a drug addict. He is an absolute idiot who lacks common sense and only is in business because all the good dr's in the area have 3 month waiting lists. Avoid.
I would not recommend. I have traumatic issues from abuse. Dr. Khan's assistant, Dr Baptiste, alleged that I was the abuser. I will never go to another psychiatrist.
Charged us for med management and therapy for our 10 minute appointment, paying twice the copay. Had to go every month to get a refill. She was only in one medication. It felt like we were being scammed, even if it wasn't illegal!
I called to cancel an appointment, they put me on hold for 4 minutes, so I hung up and called back stating I just needed to cancel an appointment. She set the phone down on the desk, I could hear them laughing talking about their cars. I said "hello?", she must have heard me so she said nothing and put me on hold. I waited another 4 minutes, decided to hang up and call back. When I called back, told her again just trying to cancel, and she gave me attitude saying she was doing something else. I asked for her name and she yelled "you are cancelled. Asked for her name again, and she hung up on me. Obviously the receptionists at this place are unprofessional and have no manners. Will never recommend this place for psychiatric counseling because they have no empathy for patients. Awful awful awful. He used to be a psychiatrist in prisons, I think in Texas. He cant understand that patients outside of prison have choices and don't accept his BS. He is really bad. He has no respect for women, for families, for anything other than money. Stay away. Talk with your dog; he will help you much more. and is especially fond of locking people up with Baker Act if they are insured so he can be sure to be paid. Seniors and women, be especially wary. After scheduling my appointment over a month ago and having medical records sent to the facility excetera and knowing the medication I am taking they booked me for an appointment. I sat down for less than 15 minutes the doctor refused to write any of the medications that I have been taking for my mental health for the past 20 years and she was extremely rude. He advised he does not write anxiety or ADD medication. This doctor is a con artist and I would not recommend going to the office just a waste of time. Nice friendly office. Doctor was very knowledgeable and highly educated. Good attitude towards me AND other patients who were waiting to be seen. Asked many questions about me and my life. Polite and well spoken. I have great confidence that this doctor knows what medication regiment is best for me.
I have had two appointments in the last two weeks. Half of the staff is extremely rude. Some are very friendly and willing to help. Dr. Khan is a very good doctor, but he is often not in the office and I am given an appointment with his assistant, Mr B. He very clearly doesn't care about you and will rush through your appointment. I need to see a doctor every two weeks, given instructions from another doctor, yet he refuses to see me except for once a month.
Dr. Khan is straight forward but a very genuine, compassionate psych Dr. I'm completely as ease sharing honestly so he can manage my BiPolar-I, meds & levels. His Off.Vist thorough & not rushed. His assoc. RNP/Baptise is also kind & insightful. Re: Front Office-the prior staff (2016) educated w. BS & AS degrees NOT Medical Billing/Coding (2 v.different types of accounting/admin) I wd say anyone wanting to embrace a better quality of balance wd find success here. I enjoy Dr. Khan & Staff +1 yrs.
I had consulted many consultants because of a chronic problem. I found Dr. Khan quite competitive and straight to the point. I did find him very professional with a pleasant sense of responsibility. I am fully poised with his treatment and I am definitely going to recommend him to my colleagues and family.
From the minute that I sat down I felt like Dr Khan was asking me questions from a Questionier. It made not want to express myself to him. I felt like he was judging me. One of the questions was "HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE A MONTH" He also wouldn't listen to what I had to say he just kept over riding me. I will never go back there or recommend anyone to him. The receptionist needs further training in many areas of patient care and patient privacy!!!
I felt very uncomfortable during our session. I felt like he judged me for things I did when I was a teenager. Who I was as a teenager has nothing to do with who I am now. I also didn't like how he talked bad about my last doctor. At least my last doctor never judged me and I felt comfortable talking to him. Dr. Khan is extremely expensive. Then he wouldn't even write a letter stating he isn't my doctor anymore so I can receive care somewhere else. I feel that he is very unprofessional.
