My husband had to cancel his appointment (almost a week in advance) because of an insurance issue and they CANCELED his prescription refill they had just ordered. They couldn't let him have a 15 day supply of a medication they know he needs while we figured things out? Also, he never saw the same doctor twice and it seemed like none of the doctors even bothered to look at his chart before coming into the room to speak with him. Our experience with this place has caused an even greater sense of disappointment with the health care field. I love dr.vera & all of his staff. People complain about the wait but don’t realize the doctor & staff are taking time with the patients! If you want to be treated like a number & quickly, go to urgent care!

Dr. Arnold Vera is a walking encyclopedia. He keeps up to date and reads constantly about new advances and treatments and implements them before other doctors hear about them. bad office they will ruin your credit and never send you a bill. every time i had an appointment i paid at that time what i owed and got no further bills but now have 2 bad debts on my credit from them and called to straighten it out and was told that their billing company hadnt been submitting things to clients accounts. My first visit went over quedtions ( by Dr. Vera) no opportunity to ask any, when attemted was dismissed and he walked away. Second visit : Went over the same questions giving me the impression he did not read the history or my file. When reminded of this not being my first visit, Dr. Vera appeared to be offended by this reminder, walked away. I was left in the room confused with no answers. Dr Vera saved my mother’s life when other doctors didn’t understand her illness. We will always be grateful!

I love Dr. Vera!!! He got me feeling like myself again and also helped me through my pregnancy post thyroidectomy. He actually listens and doesn’t go by an average TSH range.

All I can say that at the end of my visit with Dr Vera I started crying... He asked if I was okay and if anything was wrong? Dr. Vera is by far the most knowledgeable doctor that I’ve ever known. He saved my moms life! He was able to diagnose a problem over the phone! He has gone above and beyond to help her. She went to several doctors that dismissed her symptoms or referred her to another doctor. The hospital couldn’t figure it out! I’m very grateful for him and his dedication to his patients. Dr. Vera literally saved my life. Through his diligence and expertise, he established that I had a tumor randomly producing insulin causing my blood sugar to drop. There were times it was do low I couldn’t comprehend what people were saying. Dr Vera was the first physician that didn’t rely on a single blood test. He LISTENED and meticulously tested. Dr. Vera is about the smartest doctor I know. I am a retired CRNA, and my husband was an MD ophthalmologist. I have been around many doctors throughout my life, and Dr. Vera is outstanding. He always takes the person as a whole individual with all physiological systems working in synchronization with each other. The staff is friendly and competent as well. Dr. Vera is the best! I am a very busy business man with lots of stress. Dr. Vera goes out of his way to see me on short notice and privately when necessary. He is always available to help me. He has a genuine concern and care for my well-being. He treats me as a whole instead of just a patient with a problem. He reviews my bloodwork, he asks how I am mentally and discusses the importance of handling stress and achieving overall happiness as it relates to physical and mental health. I have been going to Dr vera for almost 20 years.I've watched the service deterate. The office help has always been good to me. But they seem to change the office help frequently. Dr. Very had two very good assistants, Dr Schroeder and Dr. Somai, and the next time I came in to see them they were gone. I can't get anyone to fill my prescription and to answer me.Dr.Somai diagnosed me with Addison's disease, and told me it was imperative that I take this medication, three times a day.I'm trying to find a new Dr. By Thursday. His staff sucks now. He is a good doctor. He used to have the best staff. I have been going to him for over 10 yrs. and I can't even get in to see him for a couple months. When I did last see him, I had waited 4 hours. It's a shame,he's an awesome doctor, his staff really stinks....

I am not happy with the office staff and it's too bad for the doctor. They don't call you back or if it's time for a reminder appt they call but don't leave messages. Today I had an encounter with the secratary I missed an appt but I was able to pick up sheet for my labs. upon asking her for another appt she said there isn't one take the lab then we will set up an appt. I asked will they extend my prescription the secratary didn't think they would. Afterwards I called the people who you renew your scripts in the officr and it went to voicemail. A week later they never called me back I am now trying to find a new doctor of course they dont call you back. already found another doctor, but thanks to there way of doing things for a month I won't have diabetic medication all because of there staff and secatary I am not happy with the office staff and it's too bad for the doctor. This was the worst doctor experiences I have ever had!!!! We (my husband and myself) COULD NOT understand what Dr. Vera was saying. The on script he put me on got soooo messed up. I had to make several phone calls to get it straightened out for the pharmacy. Finally, I gave up and now my primary writes the script for me. He must have asked me how much did my one child weight 2x at every appt. It was like was a new patient each visit. When I asked him a question - I received no explanation from him...just that it was ok and he would help me. Wait periods were usually 1 - 2 hrs. Now, today I get a bill for over $300 when I was told my insurance would covered all of it. AND I asked how much I owed each visit. I would rate this office and endocrinologist one star. I have been a patient of Dr. Arnold Vera for over 12 years of my life (Type 1 Diabetic) and so has my mother and late father. We were with him back when he had a medical office in the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. Back then service was excellent, quality, and one was not just another number. I do not believe Dr. Vera himself has changed too much over the years. He has always listened, been compassionate, and genuinely cared for his patients. If Dr. Vera could run his entire office himself and his practice it would be essentially flawless. The number of patients he has acquired over the years has grown exponentially. I remember being called right away in the waiting room. Now I wait at least an hour to be called from the waiting room, if not longer. I am a college student that also works full-time supports herself. I do not have a whole day to waste for a check up, I wish I did.With that being said, I have cancelled appointments before, I have forgotten to request a prescription 48 hours in advance, so I understand people are busy. Continuing, I have been hospitalized twice since I have been a patient at this office, once for salmonella (most serious) and another time for a high blood glucose that would not come down. The first time I was around 12 years old and the doctors at Halifax Medical Center tried numerous times in my 5 day stay in ICU to reach Dr. Vera and his office on how to proceed with my Type 1 diabetes but no one ever returned their call. The second time I was an adult in 2015 with a diabetes related experience. The doctor at the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room did not know how to proceed with my care so he called my endocrinologist, whom again never returned the call. Thankfully, both times, I was aware of my condition and had to advise the doctors at both hospitals. I have reluctantly had to wait days for the pharmacy to receive clarification on a prescription of insulin. The pharmacy tells me each time I ask they have called Dr. Vera’s office numerous times and left several messages. It had got to the point that it was embarrassing to ask if the problem is resolved and if I could pick up my insulin. When I decided for myself, I no longer wanted my insulin pump (mainly because of cost, but also for mechanical issues with the device), I went back to shots. I requested a prescription for insulin pen needles to which the woman at the desk gave me a handful of pen needles and told me that would last me six months. I questioned her thought process, one uses one needle for each time they deliver insulin to their body. She told me, "One needle lasts around one month, so you'll be okay." I decided not to argue with her and purchased syringes to remove the insulin from the insulin pens. My final discrepancy with this office was the most significant. I had an ultrasound of my thyroid (routine for Type 1 Diabetics) done June of 2015. I was told after the technician removed the gel I would be notified if anything appeared abnormal. I made a routine appointment after the test but canceled because I was already having second thoughts about returning to his office. I knew if my results were abnormal I would be notified. I decided I was going to research other endocrinologists and found one closer to home. They requested my medical records. I went to Vera's office to pick up my medical records and decided to skim through them. What I noticed was that on the ultrasound of my thyroid a nodule was discovered. There was a checklist of the ultrasound itself noting the nodule’s presence and a separate sheet of paper describing the dimensions of the nodule. I was never called, written, and/or notified of the growth on my thyroid gland. While I am satisfied with my choice of no longer being a patient of Dr. Vera, I am now concerned about a situation that should have been brought to my attention months ago! I can only hope it does not turn out to be something worth more of my concern. I would rate this office and endocrinologist one star. Dr vera is a good MD, However, his office is such a chaos that he is unable to function.tha straw that finally broke the camels back is when they changed my appointment made 6 months ago to see Dr Vera to instead seean internist in training, who has never seen mr before for my ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY,WHICH HAS BEEN VERY UNSTABLE, . This information was given to me at 5:45 pm the night before my 9 am approintment.I was not asked if this was ok, but simply told that,was the way it was. Dr. Vera is a very caring and thorough doctor.

The physicians and staff are awesome. Dr.'s Vera and Somai are the best. The care is unrivaled. Their bedside manners are amazing. They both spend an enormous amount of time answering questions, explaining the treatments and conditions and making certain the patients have a plan to health. Some get frustrated for waiting but love the time spent with each patient. Well, you can not have it both ways. If you want personalized care without being just a billable number, then you have to expect a wait. Dr.'s Vera and Somai care about each patient so they spend the quality time with each. I was a patient of Dr. Vera's several years ago and was very unhappy with the way I was treated. I was yelled at by he and his nurse for my diabetes many times. It made me not want to go in to get help because I was constantly told I was screwing up even when I did everything I was told to do. At one point he did some sort of EKG like test on me and told me that I had nerve damage to my heart from the diabetes and made me schedule an appointment with a cardiologist. I had to wait a month to see the cardiologist to find out he was across the hall from Dr. Vera. Then when I got there I found out Dr. Vera had been sending many of his patients there with no explanation. The cardiologist even thought Dr.Vera was conducting his own study without telling the patients. It turned out there was and still is nothing wrong with my heart. I owe my life to Dr. Vera and his staff. After seeing several doctors I found Dr. Vera. He instantly took a personal interest in my well being and took the time to talk to me about my whole history. He always encouraged my family members to be present with me during visits and even called me personally after hours to check on me during my high risk pregnancy. I would not even have my son if it had not been for Dr. Vera. After several years of trying and many heartbreaks he took over my care, diagnosed the problem, and I was got pregnant on the first try.
