Dr. Arnel M Tagle

I feel so bad reading these reviews. Dr Tagle does have a sharp bedside manner and can be brutally honest but isn’t that what we need? I don’t want watered down or sugary answers when it comes to my health. He gives it to you the way it is, no filters. If he gives it to me in a way, I don’t want to hear it, I either except the truth or I give him a little pushback but I appreciate who he is as a physician and his wealth of knowledge and the fact that he holds me accountable why else am I paying my money and wasting his time? If you are overweight in any form or fashion you better be ready to accept responsibility and accountability or else you are wasting your time. He will not babysit you or hold your hand. I like that. If he’s honest with you be honest with him simple as that. Dr Tagle knows what he’s doing. If you want good health and a healthier lifestyle see Dr Tagle. If you want coddling, see a therapist! He is ruefully unprofessional, which leads to his inability to provide adequate care. He does not listen to the patient and is condescending and arrogant. I presented with severe back pain. He sent me to a surgeon to see about gallbladder surgery. My gallbladder was fine. Then he said maybe I needed psychological help. I said, I have back pain and you haven’t checked my back. Fortunately, I was able to schedule an appointment with another doctor within a day who sent me for an MRI that diagnosed my three herniated discs and treated me and my condition. He clearly doesn’t care about people or medicine. When I selected my new PCP, the receptionist said, “Wow! Another Dr. Tagle patient. No doubt he knows his stuff. However, he has a nasty disposition. He is RUDE. He is disrespectful. He treats you like trash. After he upsets you. Then he takes your blood pressure. Then he adds more medication.

Dr Tagle might not be for everyone (judging by the reviews I’ve seen anyway!) but if you’re ready to listen to someone who is very passionate about having you take control of your health, I highly recommend him. I credit starting to see him as a PCP as when I started taking exercise more seriously, and I’m really grateful he was so straight forward with me about what I should be doing in terms of diet and exercise. He is also the closest you can get to boutique-style medical care - my husband was jealous of me on several occasions at the level of care Dr Tagle provided. I could always reach him through Mercy’s online platform, and if he had a follow up question he would immediately call me to make sure I got what I needed. I’ve since moved to Austin but I miss having Dr Tagle as my doctor! I credit starting to see him as a PCP as when I started taking exercise more seriously, and I’m really grateful he was so straight forward with me about what I should be doing in terms of diet and exercise. Dr. Tagle was very unpleasant, sharp, and cold. From the very beginning he came off that way. There wasn't a greeting or anything of the sort. He made me feel like this was just a simple transaction and a waste of his time. He had a "Lets just get this over with" attitude. I asked him certain questions and he made me feel rushed. If you value and respect yourself, don't chose him as a Dr./ P.S. I thought he must have been overworked due to covid. Then he stated that they don't see covid patients. Dr Tagle is a very rude and unpleasant Dr , he makes our blood pressure high just thinking about going for a visit... I definitely would not recommend him to anyone unless you want to be talked down to and treated like you are not a human being... I’ve never been to such a rude obnoxious person before . Gifted primary physician. He has probably saved my life twice and my vision once. Always up on the latest research. If you want a doctor who will work with you, who wants you to be informed and to take ownership of your health, Tagle is a great choice.

Dr, Tagle is extremely thorough and very professional. He reviewed every detail of my many medical records prior to my visit and performed every test and exam one would expect on an annual physical. I've stuck with him ever since and look forward to seeing him. Dr Tagle has been extremely helpful in managing the best medications for me and stays on top of everything. He has also set me up for success in dropping my BMI without making me feel bad about being overweight. He truly cares about his patients. He explains everything in detail and offers helpful advice with subtle humor. The office staff is top notch as well! I highly recommend Dr Tagle!!

Dr Tagle is the most unprofessional Primary Care Physician I have ever been to in my life. Dr Tagle yelled at me for coming back to see him after feeling chest pain. He said I was wasting his time and resources. While everything was okay, the fact that he yelled at me for wanting to confirm everything was okay with me was extremely unprofessional and no medical professional should ever make a patient feel they should not seek medical attention for an issue. I regret ever seeing Dr. Tagle. My experience was the worst provider experience of my life. I saw him a few times and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he was always rude and didn’t listen to my concerns. The straw that broke the camels back was after my endocrinologist left the Mercy health system, I am a type 1 diabetic, I called on him during the Covid-19 crisis that is still of concern, to help refill insulin. My medication is not elective, and he chastised me saying I needed to come in to the office despite me sharing my fear of walking into a hospital where his office is located. He dismissed my concern entirely. While he did refill eventually, he only gave me a month versus the three month supply that is typical. He also chastised me about missing a previous appointment so he wouldn’t renew my Dexcom cgm and literally told me oh well i guess you have to go back to finger sticks. His demeanor and lack of empathy has driven me to write off him and all of Mercy.

I just saw Dr. Tagle two hours ago in his office on Tuesday April 24th I was coming in as a new patient that has back pain. I started having back pain last Wednesday and by this week I was looking for a doctor. Out of the many doctors that I called, He was the only one available this week. I REGRET GOING TO SEE HIM TODAY. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. HE WAS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!! I told him that I believed it was a heavy box of 6 Deer Park Gallons of Water that I carried into my mother's house on Saturday that must have done it. Then on Monday, I went bowling with friends and by Wednesday my back suddenly was hurting. He did not listen to what I said. He did not even ask me what my pain level was when I came into his office. He said it must have been the bowling that cause the back pain. ARE You Kidding? I told you I carried a 48 pound box of Deer Parks into my mothers house from the driveway and you're saying that wasn't the cause?? I didn't feel any pain that weekend but it doesn't mean that I didn't hurt my back. I believe the bowling might had exacerbated without me knowing. I didn't have any sign of pain until Wednesday. HE KEPT SAYING IT WAS THE BOWLING THAT WAS THE INITIAL CAUSE AND IT WASN'T!! HE SAID THAT I WAS OUT OF SHAPE AND THAT WAS PROBABLY THE KEY FACTOR TO LED TO THIS SITUATION!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SO BECAUSE I DIDN'T BOWL FOR A LONG TIME, THAT CAUSED ME TO HAVE ACUTE BACK PAIN? WHAT QUACK ISSUED HIM A PHD? HE REFUSED TO ISSUE ME A REFERRAL FOR AN MRI AND DIDN'T GIVE ME ADEQUATE PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE FOR MY PAIN KNOWING I CAN'T EVEN PUT MY SOCKS ON PROPERLY. I CANNOT EVEN BEND HALF WAY DOWN AND YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT LACK OF EXERCISE HAS CAUSED THE TRAUMA TO MY BACK?? Left my appointment feeling worse than when I came in. Tagle was possibly the rudest doctor I've met in my entire life. Condescending, helped with 0 of the things I went in for, and seemed like he wanted me out as soon as possible. Waste of time and money and I feel bad for whoever has him as a PCP.

Dr. Tagle is absolutely amazing. His bed side manner is impeccable, very thorough. My GYN actually recommended him to me when I moved to Baltimore, so happy I met him and have referred many people to see him.

Dr. Tagle is condescending and rude. I put up with it for 4 years, thinking something was wrong with me. He was argumentative at times had very limited eye contact and seemed to enjoy blaming me for any health impairment. I usually left his office feeling like crap. technically he might be a good MD, but he has a horrible bedside manner. after reading the comments on 3 websites, it's clear he treats many of his patients like crap....I will never go him again - i wish I would have stopped seeing him the first time he was demeaning to me.

If you could give no stars I would. Dr. Tagle is NOT someone I would recommend to anyone even if I hated them. I am not surprised someone has also commented on him over prescribing blood pressure medication. There are two instances where he endangered both my mother and my father which makes me sick to my stomach. He prescribed my father an extra blood pressure medication on top of the normal medication he takes regularly and because of this my father was so weak and disoriented that he fell in the morning while getting out of bed. Ironically enough when speaking with our regular pharmacist he asked both myself and my mother if the prescriptions were right because it was an abnormally large amount of medication for any person to take. Unfortunately, I am not finished. My mother's foot was broken literally all bones cracked with her tendon being the last thread stopping her from her ankle caving which would most likely have caused her to fall. My parents are older, unexpected accidents like falling cause serious damage. My mother was crying in his office and Dr Tagle screamed at her the way Samuel L Jackson screamed at Brett in Pulp Fiction while asking him what Marsellus Wallace looks like, telling her it was edema and to stop whining. We love Mercy, all of our doctors are at Mercy. Dr. Tagle does not belong at Mercy. Stay away, stay very far away. If you could give no stars I would. I am very surprised at the negative reviews. I have been a patient of Dr. Tagle for over 10 years. He is very direct which is what I like, I want actual answers not puff. He listens to my issues, without making me feel stupid, because he listened, two DVTs were found in my legs when others did not believe I had an issue. I love that I have to ability to be seen practically the same day I call, and I have NEVER had to wait in the office for more than 5 minutes to be seen once I get to the office. Office Staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. He also see's my daughter who is now an adult, she doesn't appreciate his honesty all the time, because who likes to hear they need to lose weight. But that is what your doctor should tell you...FACTS, not tell you what you want to hear, but what you NEED to hear. I am very surprised at the negative reviews. Dr. Tagle is one of the few doctors I have been to that besides doing a thorough medical examination, he cares to ask questions and listens to your answers. He does not dismiss you or make you think you are silly for having questions or symptoms. He was also very bright and funny, and does have bedside manners. I'm surprised at the poor reviews. I have been a patient of Dr. Tagle for a few years and I think he's great! He is thorough and I believe he goes out of his way to make sure he does the best for his patients. I came back from a trip once and he wasn't able to see me that afternoon so he called me several times to see if I needed him to call in a perscription to last me until I was able to come in. From my experience, Dr. Tagle is one of the best, most thorough, and caring doctors I have ever had! He speaks to his patients directly, and does not beat around the bush. Some may confuse this with rudeness or not caring, but nothing could be further from the truth! I have serious health issues and every time I have called his office, they either see me the same day, or Dr. Tagle calls back in 15 minutes! What Doctor does that today, let alone returns your call so quickly and responsibly?? Dr. Tagle is a fantastic doctor. He was recommended to me by a friend about 5 years ago, and I have since recommended him to many others. He’s down to earth and understanding and I feel like he honestly cares about my health and gives objective advice. He does a really good job of breaking things down so that I can make informed decisions. It’s also really easy to message him or get an appointment and he always follows up. I can not recommend him enough.

I feel so very sorry for his staff, If he treats paying clients the way he does, I can only imagine what those poor people go through. I will not be going back again and it surprises me Mercy keeps him on staff. No patience during stress should be treated the way dr tagle treats his patients then prescribes them blood pressure medication. Dr. Tagle is incredibly impersonal and dismissive of the health complaints I bring to him. His bedside manner is robotic. He offers no follow-up nor does he take the time to explain anything. I would not recommend him AT ALL!

I've seen this doctor for the past several years and I love him. He is caring and knowledgeable. Even though I moved away from Baltimore, I still drive an hour into the city to see him.

I have a close relative that I take to see Dr. Tagle for follow ups. We both agreed that Dr. Tagle appeared to be impolite. Not very courteous when entering the room. We did not care for his tone when speaking with us. I've never seen a Doctor like this. Does not have a very good bed side manner. Thank you R.T.

Dr. Tagle is very professional and experienced in his practice. I have been his patient for a few years now and he is always available and on point with my health concerns.

Dr. Tagle is clearly well educated and knowledgeable....however, he seems to have had a personality bypass...he's cold, unbelievably dispassionate and condescending as well. If you all you care about is that your PCP is smart and knows his stuff...you'll like him...but, for me he's a doctor by degree and not a healer at all.

Very thorough and good bedside manner. Timely appointments and follow-up. Often available for same-day sick visits.

I'm surprised he doesn't have 5 stars. I think he's great. I was sick over the weekend after coming back from Mexico and he called me a few times to make sure he got in touch with me to see if I needed anything before we were able to meet.
