Long overdue review for a highly recommended surgeon! For decades, I was aware of Dr. Armen S. Kelikian’s stellar reputation as a foot and ankle specialist and surgeon. Years ago, I had a talus fracture, which had been repaired long ago in another state, but had recently begun causing a debilitating level of pain. I was fearful of the amount of pain another surgery would cause. Dr. Kelikian explained my options, but left the surgery decision up to me. My family convinced me to have this life-changing surgery, which could not have been any easier. Parked in the Northwestern garage, took the elevator up to the check-in area. Surgery was quick and recovery was easier than expected, considering I was five months non-weight bearing, and it was all worth it! There was no pain after surgery. That was five years ago this month. I have never had one minute of pain since surgery. Dr. Kelikian is brilliant and I am honored to have had him as my surgeon. I am beyond thrilled with my results! Long overdue review for a highly recommended surgeon! For decades, I had known of Dr. Armen S. Kelikian’s stellar reputation as a foot and ankle specialist and surgeon. Years before I met Dr. Kelikian, I had a talus fracture, which had been repaired long ago in another state, but had recently begun causing a debilitating level of pain. I was fearful of the amount of pain another surgery would cause. Dr. Kelikian left the surgery decision up to me. My family convinced me to have surgery, which could not have been any easier. Parked in the Northwestern garage, took the elevator up to the check-in area. I’m only giving a one star solely for them going through the appointment. Visit was very condescending and when I attempted to make an appointment for surgery, I was told the Dr. hadn’t completed his schedule for two months out and they would call me….. what?!!! And of course they never called!! Very unprofessional.

Dr. Kelikian has performed numerous surgeries on my ankle. He is an outstanding doctor in my mind. I know, with other patients, there have been issues.

The Doctor reconstructed my foot that was crushed in a serious industrial accident. After recovery I have been able to use it to do anything I want to. He was very excited about the outcome and my awesome improvement and told me I could run a marathon with no problem. JV

I have no more problems with my ankle anymore after surgery. He did a really good job. He was quick with the doctor visits, however the overall outcome of surgery was beneficial and I have no more problems with my ankle anymore.

If you would like to meet the most arrogant doctor in the world, who won’t even let you get a sentence out, who entirely disregards any medical opinions (wasn’t even willing to hear the diagnosis) or xrays done by another doctor, and you are willing to do anything the doctor recommends unquestioningly this may be the doctor for you - after all he wrote 4 books on the subject as he informed me 3 times in the span of the 4 minute appointment before I literally walked out in tears how I was being treated.

Always running behind no matter what. When the doctor finally comes in the room he rushes you, doesn't take time to even acknowledge what is going on or answer questions. Waste of time.

I found his staff to be delightful . The doctor definitely knows his stuff. Yes he is extremely fast, yes he is taking care of many patients . I was told surgery from my podiatrist, Dr. Kelikian who admitted he loves to do surgery said no try the other alternatives first he is recommending. I also asked how long would I know after the treatment he performed in office would I know if it was going to work. He said 3 weeks. I appreciate his honesty and knowledge. The only thing that kinda bummed me was that I had to pay for parking. Yes they do validate, and the day I was there the machines were not working and we were told cash only. Dr Kelikian is very effecient, knowledgeble, and tells it like it is without a bunch of mamby pamby filler. He knows what works and what won't for a specific case, will explain why.

I was in severe pain and Dr. figured out that I have tarsal coalition and I had surgery and now my left foot is pain free! He is always happy and I think he is amazing!

Referred to me by my neighbor who had several sucessful surgeries with Dr. Kelikian. Very knowledgeable and detailed oriented. Short and to the point conversations. Some would say poor bedside manners but he is super busy and doesn't have time to chit chat. Meet up with him at the Chicago and Glenview locations. Staff/assistants are also great They get his style and follow his lead. He helped me with my foot surgery and he used the latest medical equipment from Mayo clinic. I have referred him to several people with foot issues and he has helped guide them to relief. Do what he tells you to do after your surgery to maximize your chances for success. I really appreciate this man for what he didn't do. He is an expert and has seen it all. He didn't do surgery on my broken ankle because he wanted the money. He did the latest in technology to determine I didn't need surgery. He told me to leave my bunions alone because he knows it can cause more trouble than it is worth. He is busy busy and for good reason. So there isn't a lot of kiss and kiss and hand holding if that is what you want. Just honest opinions from an expert that doesn't see you as potential to make a buck. Let's face it, it is tough to be a doctor these days. God help you if you make a mistake. Excellent doctor. Helped me recover from a broken foot bone. Is now treating my twisted ankle. My only complaints are that he is always rather rushed, and only at Glenbrook Hospital one day a week, downtown the rest of the time. Last week I referred a friend who had tendonitis on one of his ankles, and my friend is delighted with Dr. Kelikian.

I had the worst experience with the office staff. I have never experienced a place who could not give me an answer on the procedure costs. They would send me to multiple places without any information, their billing department could not give me my out of pocket costs, my insurance needed more information which I never could get from the doctor's office. Complete waste of my time and my insurance usage. Also, delay with the surgery! Do not make same mistake

Dr Kelikian seems knowledgeable, but I have been there three times and each time he seems scattered, distracted and in a hurry. He pops in and out of the office and yells to his staff down the hall. He doesn't seem to listen well. For me me, he changed the diagnoses and advice between each visit-and some of it was not based on new information but rather he seemed to just change his mind.

I had the misfortune of breaking my ankle in July, 2016, in Ohio. I was told that because of the severity of my break that I would need to contact an orthopedic surgeon in my home town to preform surgery. Since I have osteoporosis I contacted my rheumatologist to get referrals as I wanted a foot/ankle surgeon who had patients that have also had the same health issues. I could not have imagined a better outcome from ankle replacement. Dr. Kelikian was thorough, informative, efficient, and expert in the surgery, followup, and aftercare. I would, and have, recommended him to anyone who thinks his situation makes him a candidate for ankle replacement. I have no pain after two years post-op and have full functionality. Dennis Dixon

Similar experience to Carlos. Was told the problem was plantar fasciitis. I pressed him why my ankle locks up and why I have instability from simply standing if it is plantar fasciitis. He didn't want me to question his diagnosis (he's the expert) and said it would be taken care of with PT. Less than a year later, after not being able to bear the pain anymore, I went for a 2nd opinion. Turns out I had a torn tendon and ligament and need surgery to correct it.

When it comes to ankles, he is the best. He doesn't sugar coat the problem or what the recovery will entail. I personally appreciated his honesty. The recovery has been as expected. I was in an auto accident and had surgery by the ortho at the trauma hospital where the ambulance took me. Dr. Kelikian has helped me move forward and has a plan for long term. I have 100% trust in him and recommend him without hesitation, especially if you have a complicated situation.

Saw Dr. Kevorkian for a 2nd opinion on an ankle injury. Horrible service. Spent a total of 3-5 minutes with me. Completely dismissed 1st doctors advice & instructions. Said there is nothing wrong. A year later still can't bear weight on foot & live in constant pain.
