Dr. Madera is always very professional and reliable. She is my favorite physician!
Very great doctor
Everyone is very friendly and very helpful and caring the best place you wanna be
Staff is very friendly and Dr. Madera is very knowledgeable and answers all of your questions.
I saw Dr. Madera as a referral from a friend. The entire staff was very comforting. It was a bit overwhelming with all the things they told me but they explained it all very well. I highly recommend Dr, Madera.
Dr Madera is very thorough, she goes thru everything about your health issues. Very understanding and caring. I am very satisfied and comfortable with her. Would definitely recommend her to friends and family.

Looking forward to my next appointment Dr. Mesera is extremely knowledgeable and thorough.
She is very professional, answers all my questions and helped me understand my condition in a simple way.
I have been seeing Dr. Madera for 2 years and I am very satisfied. She has achieved a very significant change in my life with her participatory monitoring and evaluation. Thank you Doctor Arelis

Im a 24 year old T1D and im pretty used to doctors lacking bedside manner but i’ve never in my life experience the amount of rudeness and arrogance from an MD in my life. on my very first appointment with Dr. Madera, the moment she walked in she had her nose turned upwards and was immediately dismissive towards her nurse practitioner, and without even saying hello she started criticizing me. and look, i know im young and have a lot to learn still but when i say this was not constructive, i mean it. when i told her i wanted to start getting my body ready to have kids, she got within half a foot of my face and told me i was SELFISH! i was doing everything in my power to hold myself back from completely breaking down at this point. another example is when she said i should be grateful i have diabetes instead of leukemia. like what?! she also tried to compare my diabetes to her job as a doctor, saying some days she wishes she wasn’t a doctor but she still gets up every morning and does what she has to do… maybe it’s just me but that seems highly inappropriate to say to your patient.. and did i mention this was my very first appointment with her? my goal for the appointment was to get switched to insulin vials instead of pens because i was able to work with omnipod and get setup with an insulin pump (which would be a game changer for me) but Dr. Madera was disturbed that i didn’t go through her for the pump and felt like i “wasn’t ready” so here i sit, still struggling to keep my blood sugar under control because my doctor thinks she has the right to make life decisions for me. I just wanted to write this review to defer young adults with type one away from this doctor. she did tell me that i was the youngest patient she had at the time so maybe she’s just used to patients that are older? i don’t know… i’ve done some asking around and searching online and it seems that she is just like this. I would like to say that her nurse practitioner was wonderful. she had type one herself and was very nice when talking to me so i have to add that part considering.

Dr. Madera displayed genuine concern, a clear treatment plan, and a pleasant personality. I was a first time patient. She throughly reviewed my history and lab results before devising a revised treatment plan. I’m impressed!
Provides professional, experience care in a consistent manner. Always goes beyond expectations. A very caring and dedicated doctor. Someone U can count on and remains updated on the latest medical information. We thank You for Ur devotion to your field.
Dr. Madera really cares about her patients and is so knowledgeable. My Diabetes had been out of control for years and she got it back under control. My hemoglobin a1c is now 7.5. She is also very up to date on new treatments for Diabetes.
I liked her a lot. Very attentive.
I was referred to Dr. Madera by another doctor for consultation from results that showed up on a CAT scan. After reading the other reviews I was very apprehensive becoming a patient of this practice. My experience so far has been the exact opposite of other reviewers. The office staff called me quickly to schedule my appointment and sent me several email reminders, and they have been very friendly. I saw both the PA, Danielle Steffen, and Dr. Madera. They were very thorough in asking me questions and explaining things to me. They said that they met with each other for a few minutes before they called me back to go through my chart together. And Dr. Madera was concerned about a few things I have had going on that other doctors have not addressed, and she has put me on medications to try to get those issues under control. And those things likely don't even have anything to do with what she was seeing me for. I did have to wait a while in the lobby before getting called back (about 45 minutes past my appointment time) which I don't like but is not out of the ordinary with doctors' offices anymore. And the fact that they met together for a few minutes to review my chart together before they called me back accounted for some of that time. They explained the patient portal to me and let me know that is the best way to stay in contact with the office, which I actually like as opposed to being on the phone with someone and being kept on hold and being transferred and then playing phone tag. They also gave me a sheet with cell phone numbers and told me to use those numbers instead of the main office line and it would go directly to them. If my future visits continue as my first visit did, I really do not see where other reviewers' complaints are coming from. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Honest intelligent care, This lady cares about your health. I highly recommend. It may take time to get an appointment but worth it.
I took my dad to an appointment with the nurse, very kind I may say; but when it comes to answering the phone and returning calls I may say is the worse I’ve called numerous times and so have my sister to get a prescription sent to the pharmacy because his all out of it, there have been no call back, or even a prescription sent to the pharmacy. If they are short of staff they may hire me and I’ll do the work. Jesus how long does it really takes to call in a prescription to the pharmacy. My dad is almost 80 years old for God sake have a little more decency and at least call back and if you can’t reach the person at the time leave a message every phone now a days have voicemail or a quick text, your prescription has been called in, please call your pharmacy before heading out just to make sure is ready. I ran 3 departments at the hospital I eirked at and there was never one bad thing to say about my work. You need help? Let me know?
Dr. Madera saved my life two years ago. Since then, she continues to be attentive, helpful, and caring regarding my treatment. Her front office staff is not as friendly, but her assistants are wonderful.
I've been trying to schedule an appointment for a week by leaving five messages after having no success on the so called patient portal. No response what-so ever. I own an insurance agency in town and I am told by several customers of hers that she will not give out the free samples she gets unless you get a booster shots, I don't think she has a right to do that.
Good Physician but the worst front office ever !! Five messages over six days to make an appointment. No return calls. Portal is a waste of time. Millennium worst organization ever, and I'm being kind calling them an organization.
Good physician, terrible front office. Gave up trying to make an appointment. They never return calls. Portal is a waste of time, and Millennium is not an organization, it's a disorganization. They get five stars for being terrible.

She and the staff have been helpful. I messed up last visit which will never happen again. I'm always early for Jades appoint. but under a huge amount. of stress and was too late to see her. But was able to do lab's and sent a med list. Hope to see her soon. Will be on time!
Dr. Madera put me on two types of insulin changed my diagnosis from a type two diabetic to a type one. When I reported to her that I was doing very badly on the second insulin and stopped taking it because even the lowest dose was making me plummet in my blood sugar. she suggested me to take another medication to make my blood sugar go up which made no sense to me. Then she proceeded to put a mock pan on my arm without telling me it was a mock, scared me half to death. I thought she was injecting me with something and then made fun of me that I was afraid. This woman is sick and I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a doctor I could sue her for assault if I really wanted to, do not recommend her to anyone. I liked the Dr. but her staff is subpar. they don't answer to the messages promptly and they are rude when they do. Unfortunately, i had to find another physician

Made 11 phone calls to try and get an appointment no return call. How can one use the portal if you are a new patient. Very upset needing desperately insulin supplies
I called their office early Wednesday 02/03/2021 to check my appointment date as i cannot find the info. Message stated they would return my call! As if friday the 5th i have received no reply. I better not be charged for a missed appointment.
Staff don’t answer phones or return calls. Had to go in person and make an appt and staff was rude. Dr. Maderas was difficult. She did not want to answer questions and was not open to discuss other options I researched doe my thyroid issues. She may be good at treating other disorders but I honestly think she was not open to discuss other treatments because she either is not current with modern options of treatment or she is so set in her ways she doesn’t want to discuss anything else. My husband is a diabetic and his doctor sent him to Dr. Regeti and from the start no one would take his call or even call him. Then the doctor wasn't listening and at first I thought she just didn't understand but in the end she even argued with a friend. Doesn't seem to care about patients but money. She doesn't seem to know how to talk to people and I know that my husband can have the same problem but he also needs to learn not to allow doctors to take advantage of him. A couple of months ago, a staff member named, Angelica was extremely rude and sent the wrong dosage of insulin for my mother-in-law to Walgreens. Thank God I was here and caught the mistake as it was almost 4 times her prescribed insulin dosage. When I called to talk to her about it, she tried shifting the blame on me and was reluctant to change it until I asked her to please look at her chart. She was rude, argumentative, and refused to take responsibility for this huge error. This same Amber woman called a couple of weeks ago and said my mother-in-law had to sign up on the patient portal to communicate with the doctor's office. I tried to explain that she has dementia and it would be difficult for her and Amber then hung up on me. When I called to inform someone of this behavior, I couldn't get through. In fact, for days I called and couldn't get through. At our appointment, we didn't get see the doctor and I tried to tell someone else and they gave me a phone number to her manager. I called that office and left a couple of messages and no one returned my call. Lastly, today is a follow up appointment, again without the doctor, and there is a tornado warning. I tried to call the office to see if we needed to reschedule and, surprise surprise, I couldn't get through. We will be changing doctor's asap!! Dr Madera really cares about her patients and I found the patient portal is the only way to reach her and get a Quick Response. Her knowledge is great and professional. She is strict if she feels like you are at risk and need a push but encouraging too, looking for positive sides. Thank you doc! She works with parents too. Tries to be sure all understand what to do. Have been seeing Dr Madera for a number of years and am very satisfied with her and the staff....everytime I have had a question I would email it to her office and receive a response very promptly....she is very good at educating her patients on the latest meds and side affects.
Dr. Madera has been competent, kind, compassionate and professional in all of my interactions with her. I have confidence in her treatment and recommendations.
I called Dr. Madera about my annual MRI. It was already November and 6 months late. I had 2 benign Pituitary Adenomas removed in 2009, just 9 yrs earlier and had another one growing, so you can understand my concern. Normally, doctors ordered it every spring, now I was with Dr. Madera and nothing happened. Since I had to pick up the results of a test she did to see if my Pituitary was working that sent me into a horrible Trigeminal Neuralgia Episode, I stopped by her office. She had told her desk girl to tell me that my present tumor was stable and didn’t need a MRI though she there was no way of knowing without the MRI. When I asked to discuss this with the doctor, the girl told me to use the Portal. Never having used one before, I asked how to do that. (In NH doctors talk to you on the phone) She rolled her eyes, said, “Oh God!”, with a big loud sigh, and then just stared at me. Totally disgusted I left never to return. Dr. Madera and her staff are horrible! Don't go!
Dr. Madera is extremely competent, and is up to date on meds available and technology. She is able to do what is right for her patient. In addition she keeps close tabs on what is going on. I have a great deal of confidence and trust in her ability. She is the best Diabetes, Metabolism & Endocrinologists, in my opinion, in Charlotte County. Regarding the staff I have read a few reviews. I have never had a problem with the staff. They are kind concerned and recently helped me the day I needed help! Special mention to Amber, as she responded very quickly!
Dr. Madera is the most competent diabetic specialist I have ever been treated by.She is fully aware of the latest medications and technology. She has brought my diabetes under control and shows great interest in her patient's wellness.
I'm a caregiver for a patient that comes to this facility, and she needed me to come with her to the appointment and let me tell you how RUDE and NASTY was the lady from front desk. Very nasty attitude and very DISRESPECTFUL. Definitely she needs to have some respect and specially to elderly people.
The worst doctor I've ever dealt with and I'm a nurse!!!! My daughter tried to get an appointment. Said primary needed to send a referral. Primary said they sent referral , Madera's office says they don't have it. This went back and forth the multiple times. Office person was rude and made excuses about madera beins busy traveling speaking at conferences.. Finally got in to see Dr. she came across as being nice but made all kinds of excuses about being busy. My OB/GYN attempted to refer me to this office 2 months ago. After calling several times no one was getting back to me so while at a primary Dr appointment I mentioned the problem I was having getting ahold of the office. They made a call to them and the office informed them that the referral needed to come from them, not the OB/GYN. My primary Dr then sent another referral that day. This Dr sent me for another round of bloodwork before allowing me to make an appointment. 2 months later I get to my appointment and they very coldly tell me that they don’t accept my insurance. I’m having a MAJOR problem that I’ve now lost 2 months going without any treatment for. My advice is to heed the warnings in these reviews. Dr Madera is one of the most arrogant and closed-minded doctors I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. She is great, as long as you do not question her opinions. I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Madera is one of the sweetest doctors I have ever met. She is my mother's endocrinologist and I always take her to all of her appointments. She has amazing bed side manner and takes time to explain things to her with amazing patience and care! Her office staff is another story! I wish I could give Dr Madera 5 stars because she deserves it, the women that work for her are AWEFULLLLL!! doctors great...….staff, except for Jennifer, should be selling used cars!
I have read many reviews regarding Dr. Madera staffs. I called yesterday and the call was returned the following day. I had no problem with the individual I spoke with. She was very thorough and polite.
Absolutely TERRIBLE office. Avoid at all costs (which shouldn't be a problem because they won't give you an appointment). My doctor's office sent over referrals and other misc lab and test results 3X since May 2019. They kept insisting they weren't receiving it, while my primary care had proof of it being sent/received. So on July 1, I got copies of everything and walked it into their office on Tamiami Tr (next to the fire station). I was told again at that time, "You do not need to call. Dr. Madera will review your test results and you will be scheduled accordingly." Meaning, if she doesn't see you as a priority you will be put on the back burner. Now 8/16/19, I called to see if I was waiting on nothing. Sure enough, now they claim that they never received the information that I physically brought to them! "Tammy" is a piece of work. The nastiest most uncaring and rude individual I have ever spoken to. Certainly in the wrong line of work. Staff is ruining the doctor's reputation.

I hope people read these reviews as they are acurate in her office staffs rudeness. My doctor gave her a referal and I heard nothing so I called her office girl was very rude and told me I should not have called and not to call there again that they would call me however it has been a week and no return call even my doctor who referred me could not get them to pick up nor did they return their call. Very unprofessional and the rudeness of her staff I wouldn't go there if they now called back. I certainly think the doctor should read these reviews about her staff and their rudeness. Lesions were found on my thyroid so it was very important for me to get in.

4 stars for the doctor ONLY. Dr. Madera is very competent. I am a retired RN. If I didn't know how important a good endocrinologist is, I would leave this practice. The reason that I would leave is that the staff has a REALLY bad attitude. From day 1, I was treated like they were running a free clinic. I have never been treated so rudely at a doctors office. My second visit was scheduled for 3 months later. The staff called and cancelled my appointments 3 times! I never got to see the doctor until 5 months after my first visit! I tried being nice. I tried explaining that the doctor had JUST STARTED ME ON INSULIN. I was told that It didn't matter. Usually when a doctor visit has to be rescheduled, the person doing the appointment is slightly apologetic and thanks you for your willingness to rearrange your schedule. That is NOT the case here. Instead, they act like they are doing you a favor !! If I wasn't a nurse, I would have been in trouble. Finally, at my second visit, the woman who reschedules follow up visits, TOLD me, " you're coming back November 6 and threw a card at me. She DIDN'T say , "Is Nov. 6 good for you?" When I tried to ask her if I could be booked the week before, she said, in a very loud voice "you're coming in on the 6th of Nov." I was having trouble with nighttime lows. This wonderful lady, using a different point of view, solved the problem! After carefully following her instructions, my A1c is 5.8! Thank you very much!
Dr Madera and staff are very competent in all areas. She is the best physician I have ever used in diabetes management.
The chairs are so low that when my father sat down he hit his head on the wall. Although my father is the patient, the doctor only looked at me. When I noticed this I looked at my father so the doctor would also look at my father. She bent over and put her face into my face. I said, “Please look at my father he is the patient.” She may know medicine, but she has no idea how to talk respectfully to her patients
Dr. Madera was very thorough in her examination of me and my medical history, and I am hopeful her recommendations will be helpful.
I liked Dr Madeira but communication was a little difficult. The woman at check in, who was responsible for printing out blood sugars, extremely rude. Set a very negative tone, and got on my case inappropriately. The CNA was a unfriendly also. Too bad, Dr Madeira needs new staff.
I hope the Doctor is reading her reviews. I wish I could review the actual doctor but until the staff returns my calls, 2 weeks now, I can't. The one call I did receive back was from someone very rude who basically said appointments weren't being scheduled until the end of July and hinted find somewhere else to go.
I have made 3 phone calls to try to set up an appointment, no calls have been answered or returned. I've heard she is a good Doctor but if I can't get in touch with her that is no help to me. She came highly recommended from my old Doctor, I wonder if she is aware that her calls go unanswered and are not returned.

Terrible doctor and worst staff. Don't even want to write about them because I'm too disgusted with the treatment my Mother got from these people. Stay as far away as possible from these people.
I was referred to Dr. Madeira 3 weeks ago today. I have called twice and told the doctor was reviewing the referral and I would be contacted. I have never been called to schedule or be told she would not see me. This is extremely poor customer service and I would not go for an appointment now under any circumstances! I think the Mellinium Group should check into this situation!
Good Doctor, but AWEFUL staff. I will never go back to this Doctor and will not recommend this office to anyone.
Office was clean. People at the desk were very polite. Answered all my Questions. Dr. Madeira seemed very knowledgeable. Answered my questions. I am not prediabetic. A bit disappointed when I could not get an appointment without a referral from a primary care physician. I do not use a primary care physician. So I need to spend $150 to go to a primary to get a referral? I have been with an endo for 3 years. Just looking to switch. Personally, I think it is a terrible policy
