Dr. Antonio T Uvas

I'm a past patient of Dr. Uvas. I was assigned to him after I had a BKA in 2017 (below knee amputation) as a follow up. At FIRST I found him kind of abrasive and borderline rude. Example - telling me that he would "fire" me as a patient if I didn't quit smoking (he gave me info on smoking cessation programs, the nerve of him!), basically called me a liar when I said I was taking my diabetic meds as prescribed and ate a great diet while myA1C was a 13 (the audacity of calling a liar, a liar) and in the nicest way possible predicting I would loose my other leg, go blind, not necessarily die right away but linger in a wheelchair for years...Well, I moved to Tucson in 2019 and still think of him FONDLY, thank him PROFUSELY for his straightforward care, and painted a picture of my future that scared straight so to speak. So thank you Dr. Uvas, (maybe you remember me, Monika M) my A1C is hovering around a 6, I quit smoking in 2021 and learned my lesson thanks to you and your no nonsense approach. Just so you are aware, you made a huge impact on my health, and therefore, life. ♥️

Would’ve given it a zero star if I could based off the receptionist alone. The receptionist is very rude and has a terrible tone when speaking with her. Literally the only reason why I’m not considering going to this office. I’m pretty sure the doctor would’ve been a great choice but she has made it clear to avoid this office.

Receptionist is rude. Appears to talk at people instead too. Careful in calling when she’s in a mood.

I was told by his receptionist that they did not want to see me and to leave when I questioned her as to why she needed by covid vaccination card. She was rude and I told her so. I left and when I was going through the paperwork she returned to me it also had medical records of one of their other patients mixed in with mine. I had my spouse call them to let them know and they told her to have me just throw it away. The info contained patient name, DOB and medical care.

It has been about 2 months now, and the doctors referrals are never recognized by the referral doctor so I'm unable to make an appointment. The treatment that I did receive from Dr Uvas had the opposite effect of what was intended, when I brought this up with him he doubled the dosage, when that didn't work he has stopped returning my calls.

At first I was hesitant to come here because of some of the negative comments, but I'll just say this I love Dr.Antonio Uvas Office they're are all amazing. His receptionist, his staff, and Dr. Uvas himself makes you feel so welcomed and comfortable at all times. I'm glad I decided for him to be my Dr. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you all so very much. If you come here you won't regret it at all ???????????? Seems knowledgeable, but has a nasty bedside manner and very unwilling to listen to the patient. His office manager Rachel has a nasty tone and is very condescending.

My father had dementia / alzheimer's and was under the care of doctor UVAS, my mom also has alzheimer's. Okay I can agree with some of the reviews about staff issues, but Dr. Uvas great, I can't give him enough stars to properly put into perspective how he cared for my father with normal day to day life and hospice at the very end. He continues to care for my mom who has alzheimer's and I am thankful to this day I changed their care from Mayo clinic who is just in it for a paycheck. negative 5 stars for Mayo, 5 full stars for Dr. Antonio Uvas. I have been going to this office for about 7 years, and each year has gotten much worse. The office staff is incompetent and unprofessional. They often make phone calls to reschedule your later afternoon appointment because they would like to go home early. Also, I prefer a Dr. that listens to their patients and takes time to hear their questions. I sure hope you all turn things around! He's been my doc for 8 years. Love him!

Dr. Uvas had been our doctor for over 10 years, he is an excellent physician, very thorough, competent, compassionate & genuinely cares for his patients. He has strong contacts with excellent specialists when referrals are necessary. He is very knowledgeable and always stays up to date on current health issues and treatments. He’s open minded and very approachable when discussing our health concerns. Dr. Uvas has excellent doctor/patient rapport and a great sense of humor. He is awesome!!

Dr Uvas has been our doctor for over ten years, and we know we are in very good hands, as he takes your health seriously. He will not ask you questions irrelevant to your visit, like some docs do. He stays focused on your reason for your visit, and reviews your file each time to make sure that nothing is being forgotten. I completely trust Dr Uvas, as does my husband! And we have referred him to others.

Agree with the other review. One star is a lot for this Doctor. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anybody. He is terrible, has no manners at all. He talk to patients like they don't matter. I also agree, he prescribes tons of medicine when is NOT needed. DON' T go there.

It took me awhile to find a Good Doctor in AZ, coming from the east coast. So glad I found Dr.Uvas. He is a pro active Dr. and not just one who gives you meds and sends you on his way. He takes time to know you and your life so he can help you. I love the small office feel too. I have had my health related issues and the Dr. has addressed them all. Highly recommended if he takes your insurance. It took me awhile to find a Good Doctor in AZ, coming from the east coast. So glad I found Dr.Uvas. A caring and understanding Dr. who is pro active and listens to you. He tries to see what your everday life is like so he can help you in everyway. Glad I found him and love the small office feel. Get the attention you need and deserve.

Dr. Antonio Uvas has been my Primary Care Physician since 2008. He is a very methodical person; he listens; he cares immensely about my health and he is always available on short notice. He makes the appointment fit into his day. I have never waited more than 20 minutes to see him. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking an honest, caring, thoughtful doctor.

Thank you to the staff and Dr. Uvas of Uvas Family Medicine! My husband was in desperate need to be seen and receive a referral and you did everything you could to be sure he got what he needed. He was able to have the issues with his eyes resolved today and it saved him much pain and suffering, and possibly his eyesight as well. Thank you again! Dr. Uvas and his staff billed my insurance incorrectly, which caused me to have to pay $70.00 to his office. I asked for them to correct their mistake, not mine and they said it was because of the way the person scheduled my office visit and it was too late. Next time make it clear on why I was being seen. Believe me, I made it very clear to them that I needed my annual physical and when I saw the doctor, I had a physical form that needed to be filled out. How much more do I need to do??
