Same problem - $400+ bill received in 2021 for service in 2019 for state mandated hearing test. My insurance covers this, but there is some sort of widespread issue between UHC and the office and the billing department refuses to resubmit the bill with the correct codes so is just charging me instead.

(Pre-Covid) Only being three days old, our son had to go back into the hospital. Dr. M was great and explained to me the steps it would take to get him there. He allowed us to come as often as we needed to but also told us that we need to rest so we would be in the best shape to take him home. He spent a few nights under his care. Happy to report, he is TOTALLY fine. He was dehydrated and jaundice - so just need some suntan and Fluids.

I received a bill for $450, 4 months after my baby was born. I'm fully insured, and fully paid up with regards to the hospital (St. Peter's in New Brunswick, NJ). I have never met this doctor, I never explicitly authorized whatever the test was, and will thus not be paying this random bill. What an absolute scam.

Keep getting billed for $395 although I hit the maximum amount on my medical plan, this should have been covered but they tell me it's out of network. Very shady practice of performing a 10 second test and charging people $395 knowing full well you don't take any insurance, I am not paying. You can take it to collections if you want, you are not getting a single cent of my money.

Same experience as the folks earlier. Received a bill for $395 which is out of network, although st.peters was in network for us. This is fraud!

Have to say, this is a bad experience. My experience is the same as the upstairs, was also asked to pay $ 395. I think in this incident, the St. Peter hospital should be responsible.

My son was born last Sept. One day a woman come in and did hearing test and state it is state mandate test so we let her. A few month later we received a bill of $395! Called and found the the hospital has an exclusive contract with them, so even though the test is state mandate and should be covered since they are out-of-network they can charge whatever amount. Hearing test should not be this expensive, especially when it is state mandate!
