If ever there was a doctor superhero it is Dr. Mac. He is the best doctor I have ever been to in my life, and after battling ulcerative colitis for years, I've been to a lot of doctors. Dr. Mac went above and beyond duty with regard to my surgery and explaining everything to me. He and his staff took the time to make sure I understood everything, and that all questions were answered. Never once did I feel rushed. It won't take long, and you know he really cares about his patients. His staff was phenomenal as well. I could not have hoped for a better experience with a doctor and his staff, especially Karrie the ostomy Nurse and Marianne his PA, both were wonderful! If his specialty is needed for your issues, you will not find a better doctor. Thank you, Doctor Mac and all your staff! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the care, concern, and excellent treatment/surgery I received. Dr. Mac you are a blessing and a superhero to all your patients. Thank you!!!!!

Dr. Macaluso is a fine surgeon and friendly enough, but sadly you have to deal with his staff. His medical assistant is, again, a fine person and pleasant enough to deal with, but practically everyone else is a nightmare to work with. Their administrator misunderstood literally everything I said, gave fake deadlines, waited until the day before surgery to work on paperwork needed for my employer, and kept changing the check-in time for my operation (once or twice, I understand, five times is absurd.) I don't know what changed, but this was not our experience a year ago.

Messed up office. They billed insurance for a procedure I did not have & billed me the balance. I called my insurance co about it & they called the doc office. Office agreed to remove the bill, however they didnt & continued to bill me. So I had to call again. Then one Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m., office left me a phone message that said my upcoming f/u appt had to be cancelled & to call to reschedule. I also got an email stating the same. I did not feel I needed f/u, so I just removed the appt from my calendar. Then, a few days before what was supposed to be this f/u appt that they had canceled, they called me to remind me of the appt. They said the billing office must have canceled me & they would tell them not do to this to patients anymore. Several months later I received a call out of the blue from an imaging center to schedule me for an MRI. I didn't know anything about an MRI order. They checked & said Dr M ordered it. I informed them I no longer went to him. Messed up office.

Hello, I had a rectal surgery from the dr and it turned out just fine, am very grateful to the dr, and my quality of life has improved greatly. Thanks dr Macaluso for a perfect job. Bonnie Rice

Dr. Macaluso did my hemorrhoid surgery. He fixed 7 different areas. It has been almost 2 years now and I am glad that I had it done. The recovery was painful as expected. His office was very good at advising me on what to do in order to heal faster. I highly recommend him and his team. Now I am in need of surgery for diverticulitis and will be going back to him for this. If you need surgery in any area that he covers, I recommend that you see him.

Colonoscopy

I've seen Dr. Macaluso for a rubber band hemoroid treatment, and a colonoscopy way back, but today I say his PA Marian Fagbemi for hemoroid surgery. She was extremely helpful in getting me an appointment and explaining to me what was needed to be done and how to prep for the operation which will be done by Dr. Macaluso.

Dr Macaluso and is staff I cannot say enough about. This was my 3rd colon examination in 6 years. From the receptionist to the nursing staff I was made to feel more than comfortable. Great attention to detail by everyone. I was highly recommended by a number of my close friends. My wife Irene and I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Macaluso to anyone. Worst doctor ever treats everyone like a drug hunter for pain pills in which was not even needed in my case.

I absolutely love Dr. Macaluso! I’ve been going to him for 12 years and he is the most caring Dr. I’ve ever been too! He’s been treating my colon disease for years. So thankful for Dr. Mac !

As a health care provider and having been on numerous hospital staffs, I can only say that there are not enough superlatives to say about Dr. Macaluso. He performed colon surgery on my wife and we can't say enough about how he took care of her. He called her while in the hospital even during evening hours to check up on her.

After visiting with Dr. Macaluso yesterday, I have no fear of his skills OR our upcoming operation for Cecal Volvulus. Knowing this operation has a significant mortality rate (around 40%) demonstrates just how confident I am with Dr. Mac! I am confident that I will have a positive outcome because of the following reason: 1. Both my Internist and my Gastrointestinal Doctor from ANOTHER HOSPITAL independently recommended Dr Mac to me when I asked who, in their opinion, would be the best surgeon.

NEVER in my life have been treated so terrible! He came in and the way I was examined was beyond any nightmare! I have had 5 cervical surgeries, 2 lumbar surgeries (including a lumbar 360), 3 surgeries on my right foot. These have left me with chronic pain for 30yrs. When he pulled Up the medications I have been on for years, his attitude towards me was disgusting. He is the most unprofessional Dr I have ever been to and trust me, I have been to a lot. DO NOT GO TO HIM! NO STARS!!!!!

Dr. Mac successfully handled my complex rectal cancer case with tremendous skill, and explained, in detail, the risks and challenges we would face. He is honest, straight-forward and can be relied upon to give you the facts. Every step of the way, he went above what was expected. My tumor is gone and I give him full credit for making this possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone facing a complicated cancer assessment.

Do not go here...I saw the doctor and he was nice enough, but after I was set up for a colonoscopy, I got very ill with the prep. I called the hospital and cancelled, called the doctors office and left a message before they opened, then called back again as soon as they opened and they are charging me $100 because I had to cancel so early. The hospital even told me not to come as I had been throwing up. Today, I just pulled out my mail and I have been sent to collections.

My husband and I went to see Dr. Mac this week and we were over-the-moon in love with everyone in their office; from Kamber, at the front desk to Brittany, for scheduling surgery! Dr. Mac and Cindy could not have made us feel more at ease! It's always scary going to a new doctor, especially when it's this type of visit, but they made it easy and painless! I highly recommend, that anyone that has to be seen for colon/rectal visits, that you go see Dr. Mac and his wonderful staff!

In 2003, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was rushed to Dr. Macaluso, who very patiently explained to me and my wife what I had, where it was located and what he proposed to do. In June of that year, he operated, examined by lymph nodes and notified my wife, that everything would be fine. Its now 2017, I'm cancer free and owe my life to physicians like Dr. Macaluso. I am healthy, enjoined traveling to Europe and all over the United States and have been given the opportunity to give back.

I literally credit the good doctor with saving my life, he was straightforward with the facts about my condition but not once did he make me feel afraid or alone. His staff is outstanding and warm hearted I feel blessed to have found such a man. There's nothing else to say but thank you so much for everything and a second chance
