I was so impressed with Dr Firilas I wish now that he did my original surgery as I know it would have gone well. At least he can correct the mistake right in the office and I will be going back to have him do so.

This was my very first surgery. Dr. Firilas was absolutely excellent! I hope I won’t ever need him again BUT IF I do I know I will be in good hands. Professional, straight to the point, funny, motivating and I will highly recommend him to all my family, friends and coworkers!!! Thank you Doctor Firilas for being so awesome!!!

I don’t as scheduled for two procedures after the initial appt. I spoke with the scheduling agent multiple times for each procedure which were are different locations. Each procedure required a prep measures. I went to each location and neither place performed the procedures. The first Roper location said they didn’t know how to do the test. The second one was over an hour from my home. And both my husband and I took off work. While I’m the parking lot, I received a call saying that the person doing the procedure was not available and that I should have been notified the day before. Shouldn’t more than one person be available? This is a brief summary of my experiences with Dr Firilas. I spent extensive amounts of time speaking with the office staff to be misdirected for my tests. I drive over an hour to his office and received a bill for services (charges were $300 plus for a visit) that he did not provide. Unfortunately, I cannot give lower than one star for his rating.

After meeting Dr. Firilas for the first time I felt very comfortable with him, being vain and embarrassed he put me at ease. He was very professional and confident in his profession. Will recommend him to everyone I know

I had a problem for 2 years that my regular doctors couldn’t pinpoint. I was referred to Dr. Firilas who identified the problem and set up a treatment plan. What a relief!

Dr. Firilas saved my life. I was diagnosed with C-Diff and had been treated multiple times with antibiotics. He did a fecal transplant on me and my symptoms began to clear up almost immediately. I was back to myself within a few days. He is amazing!!!

Stay far away! Saw Firilas for a rectal prolapse (I had lost 12 lbs in 4 weeks, severe pain, rectum protruding, AND history of colon cancer in my family) and after a quick table exam, he gave me 2 options: remove my entire colon, or accept the fact that “if you were ever abused in your lifetime, this is what happens”. What?? Fast forward 2 weeks and thank you Lord for directing me to Dr. Margarita Murphy. She immediately did a colonoscopy and found 1. Tumor on my colon, 2. Cyst on my ovary and 3. Severe rectal prolapse. I was in surgery 2 days later (and that 2 hour surgery turned into a 5 hour surgery). I believe that Dr. Murphy not only improved my quality of life but also saved my life. I absolutely intend on following up and filing a complaint with this doctor’s superiors.

Love his personality, explained everything so we could understand.

This was my first visit with Dr. Firilas. Dr. Firilas took the time to examine me and then fully explain his findings. I felt very comfortable with his recommendations and would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Firias to anyone requiring colorectal exams or surgery.

From 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and having suffered having several seizures at a local hospital I got transferred to Charleston where Dr Firilas took excellent care of me and his bedside manner, caring, compassion, and willingness to listen thoroughly let me know this Dr had my quality of life at hand. I THANK GOD for the use of allowing him to help get my Crohn’s resolved and I can live a normal life again. I couldn’t ask for a better COLORECTOL SURGEON?????

I met Dr Firilas 8 months ago and was immediately impressed by his caring and compassion. He was easy to talk to and pretty quickly diagnosed my illness. I needed to be under the care of other specialists before he could do surgery and he surrounded me with a great team. He performed the surgery a few weeks ago and I am making a super recovery. He is an excellent Dr and surgeon I will always be thankful that I when I needed the best medical care I found him.

The doctor takes his time with you and thoroughly explains everything. I received good treatment from him, his staff and Roper-St. Francis.

Dr. Firilas is great. He is very caring and understanding of my concerns. He performed surgery on me for a blockage in my intestine. It was supposed to be a 3 hour operation. While he was in there he noticed an abnormal cancerous looking gall bladder. He called in the general surgeon on duty and they called in a 3rd specialist to removed the bladder which fortunately was benign but had 3 stones. Dr. Firilas stayed in the O R with me the entire 7 1/2 hours. I can't thank Dr. Firilas enough

Absolutely wonderful communicator, knowledgeable, did a procedure on my mom who is in her 90s and she is Home with little or no pain. Would recommend to anyone wholeheartedly.

Boy this guy is a piece of work. He gave me an exam found 7 internal and external hemorrhoids. I have COPD and require oxygen when exerting energy. He saw the oxygen tank and acted insulted that I made an appointment to see him. He said, with a highly arrogant tone, I can’t operate on you, because of COPD. He was really saying, I can’t make any money on you. Offered no alternative procedures ( which there are), or any medications. My wife and I had the same impression, it all was about money.

Been dealing with a health issue for over 2 years, I have been to 3 different doctors trying to get to the bottom of it,I saw this doctor today he didn't have a answer either but told me I don't need to see more doctors that he would find out n treat my illness,very good bedside manners and very compassionate
