I feel that Dr. Amendola may be a very skilled surgeon as he has received very positive reviews, however his demeanor was very demeaning and condescending. He even pressed what my occupation was while we were discussing the surgery my son would have. Then told us he had 30 years of experience and could tell by watching his patients walk if they needed this surgery. So, I asked him to watch my son walk. Seemed logical as he hadn't. We left the appt. feeling very disheartened. My son has been dealing with these symptoms for 5+ years and had to give up his collegiate sport because of his injury, yet Dr. Amendola said he's not in pain and has no symptoms and seemed incredulous that we were even there. He stood up and left our appt. abruptly leaving us wondering what just happened. His intern behaved the same way and I tried to assure my son that the physician will be better because the intern was the first one we spoke with about my son's issues. Now I see that it starts from the top.
Very professional, meticulous, comforting ?and friendly.?
Dr. Amendola's first name means something like performing a task flawlessly, and it is apt. He listened intently and compassionately and then chose there best course of action for someone with my complex history. It is clear that his staff is content working with him because he treats them with respect. He is kind and humble, qualities too rarely found today, in physicians or others.
