Second visit. Much better experience! My daughter had a visit recently with Dr. Whitney. She was thorough and went above and beyond. The reason for the 3 stars is her staff. They referred us to another specialist and we scheduled an appointment for 9:45 am. Weeks before we called to ask them to please send over the paperwork. Nothing. The day of the appointment we called during office hours and got the answering service. The doctors office where we had the appointment called all morning and got the answering service. The service even committed that it was weird that they were not picking up. At 10:48 I get a call from Dr. Whitney's office saying the just sent over the paperwork! Good job. An hour late. The doctor got the information directly from the radiologist in 5 minutes!! And my wife showed him the results of my daughter's lab work from the app on her phone! This is very disappointing and we would unfortunately, not recommend Dr. Whitney until she can hire some competent office staff. Second visit. Much better experience! Terrible experience. I honestly hate writing bad reviews for doctors, but Dr. Whitney was extremely rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. She contradicted herself multiple times during the appointment, didn’t answer any of my questions, and at one point abruptly left the room. I thought she was coming back and had left to go get something. Nope, the nurse came in and was like “ok, you can go now.” I asked if I could ask Dr. Whitney a few questions, and the nurse just looked blankly at me and said I could call if I had any questions. Of course, I tried to call three times the next day, spent forever going through a phone tree, only to get disconnected each time. I left the appointment with more questions than answers. Our son ended up being admitted to the hospital a few weeks later. Fortunately, a different pediatric gastroenterologist was recommended to us. He is Dr. Whitney’s opposite and I am so glad our son is in his care.

I love that she seeks a natural, manageable and minimally invasive approach first. She really treats each patient like she cares. Great bedside manner! I could not have asked for a better doctor for my son.

Dr. Whitney is OUTSTANDING!!! She was very compassionate and caring during every visit I had with my daughter. I can't say enough about her bedside manner and how supported I felt during a very difficult time after my infant was diagnosed with milk protein allergy.

My child has been dealing with intestinal issues for almost 5 months and no one could really pin point what was happening to her. It was a scary time for all of us. Listened well but didn't provide correct diagnosis.

Dr. Whitney has been both of my kids GI dr & always spends time listening to us. Very caring!

Dr. Whitney is the absolute best. She is informed and cares about her patients. She goes beyond other doctors to help my kids.

Dr. Whitney is awesome to say the least. She has helped my wife and I figure out the issue our son was having with powder formula. She's extremely knowledgeable, patient, and personable. The office staff are all great people to speak to on the phone and in person! Everyone cares about the patient, we're truly glad we found her!

She just cared about scoping. Once she did that, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I have no idea." I never went back again, and the next GI we saw came up with 8 different possibilities even before putting my child down for an OR procedure with anesthesia and scoping. He actually said a scope wasn't necessary and even risky for a small child, so that should tell you a lot about her priorities.

Loved her! She is very to the point and wants to figure it out rather than guessing! Which is exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend

Call two weeks ahead to schedule they were more than willing to help and make the appointment but someone didn’t bother to verify the insurance and let me know the breakdown of how much we would have to pay out-of-pocket I was under the impression that for special this it would be $50 and we get surprise with almost a $500 deductible to pay for two of my children to see her in total she probably took maybe 45 minutes to see both my daughter was assessed thoroughly while my five-year-old wasn’t even touched or looked at she just gathered all the information and then was quick to say that he needed to get a scope done withIn the next two weeks That scope with the hospital and her fee is another around another for $4-500. It looks like they won’t be seeing her anymore because we can’t afford to see her they really need to inform the patients What they are expected to pay prior to coming to the appointment I pretty much had a max out my credit card to pay her they do not and not willing to make payment arrangements so therefore she’s not ordinary doctor for patients and children on a budget or low income plus Plus the gas we had to spend an over 55 miles to see her. Dr Whitney is great we love her she is so good with our chid and patient she has figured out what was wrong with we have been seeing her for over a year

My daughter started seeing Dr Whitney when she was 8months old. Initially she was diagnosed with CDiff and started heavy antibiotics. After seeing Dr Whitney we discovered she was not sick due to CDiff but rather she had an allergy to dairy, soy, and red meat. So after excluding that from my diet (she’s breastfed) she is 100% better and no antibiotics needed! So grateful for such a wonderful doctor to take care of my daughter. She was very informative and detailed. Really felt she was very thorough with examination and coming to a correct diagnosis with solution. So far we have a had a great experience. Her nurses we saw both times were also kind and we don’t have to wait long to get seen. We also have had no issue with getting scheduling appointments. They seem pretty felixaeble scheduled wise which is important. Only improvement I could possible suggest would be friendliness with front desk. Do not waste your time & money on overpriced office visits and procedures with a doctor that doesn’t even give a damn about their patients - all she wants is money

Dr Whitney is absolutely wonderful. She does her best to be on time and yet takes time to explain thoroughly. She is quick to return my phone calls and always very caring.

Dr. Whitney was my pediatric gastro when I was a teenager, so I was delighted to find her when my son was ill. After he was hospitalized 4 times, she was able to diagnose what no other doctor could. She's wonderful, patient, and personable. Her office staff is friendly and returns phone calls within a timely manner.

Dr Whitney is very attentive to the patient as a person as well as thei medical condition. She does a thorough job and excellent skills. Very knowledgeable and stays current in her field.

Dr. Whitney listened and continues to listen to both my son and I and addresses our concerns quickly and with a lovely bedside manner. She is definitely worth the trip up from San Antonio to see.

Immediately identified an autoimmune illness in my son, ordered appropriate tests for him the same afternoon as the visit, and he is now on his way to recovery. Accurate and efficient diagnosis.

She was dismissive with our concerns about my newborn's reflux, was quick to slap a diagnosis on him with very little data, and encouraged me stop breastfeeding. When we called with questions, we were only allowed to talk to the MA, who was not at all helpful. Awful experience for new parents who were trying anything to help their screaming child.

Doctor Whitney has excellent bedside manner, is easy to talk to, takes time to conduct thorough assessment, and takes an honest interest in our family. She's been very helpful with my son's reflux and has even responded personally if follow up questions are needed when I have left messages for her nurse. Great doc!

Dr. Whitney not only solved my daughter's chronic intestinal issues, but she found red flags which led to findings of other underlying issues that have since been addressed with a different physician. She is an excellent diagnostician who listens to both Mother and child with a fabulous, caring bedside manner.

Dr. Whitney is a kind and compassionate doctor. She helped with my son's issues in a timely and professional manner. She was patient and listened to my son's complaints and was able to communicate in a way that we understood. Her staff was very helpful as well.

We are so fortunate to have Dr. Whitney in our corner. She has fought for our son with insurance companies, other doctors, etc. She will take the time to listen to the parents' concerns and explain her plan with patience and honesty. We would be lost without her. As with all doctors, you should come in with an open mind (and not a diagnosis from Dr. Google.) And always advocate for your child - no one knows your baby like you do! And Dr. Whitney will fight right alongside the parents.

We love Dr Whitney. She is a Wonderful Dr.! Great Bed side manner! I was highly recommended to her by a friend and I can say I'm thankful I've found her.

Not only has Dr. Whitney taken care of my child, but I have also worked with her in the surgical setting .. She cares about her patients and families and I have seen this firsthand . I would highly recommend here to anyone

Best pedi GI dr ever!! Could not have made it through my son's digestive and reflux issues without dr Whitney. He was failure to thrive until dr whitney's treatment. Her care and compassion are second to none. Wish there were more physicians like her. She really takes the time to get to know her patients and really cares. Thank you dr Whitney!!

Dr. Whitney is awesome but her staff at the Dallas office are lazy! With the new insurance for 2016 I was trying to get an insurance plan they would accept in the new year and they said they didn't know and could only look it up with a member ID #. They were so unhelpful and sound like you are bothering them. So we ended up getting an insurance plan that now we find out they don't accept but I call to ask what it cost to be a self pay and the lady doesnt even know! Guess to lazy to ask anyone!

Have not received proper diagnosis and have switched GI Dr and there is a physician at Cook Medical Center who is helping my daughter.
