Dr. Ann Mcdermott

What I like most about Dr. McDermott is that she is not quick to write you a prescription like many doctors. Instead, she will look at natural solutions to your health ailments that are an actual fix and not just a bandaid.

Dr Mcdermott herself is ok but her office staff is by far the worst i have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Refills are often a pain. They were incredibly resistant to virtual visit very late into covid. They literally tried to tell me in the heart of covid that i had to come in for an annual checkup. I was like i will not put my health at risk being healthy coming to a hospital during a pandemic. I guess i will have to find a new doctor. Then they were like ok we can find a way to work it out. It's clear these people do not care about people as much as much as their ability to charge people. When i had an emergency infection developing i tried to come in for an emergency visit to get some antibiotics to prevent the infection from becoming worse. They would not let me see her. I ended up in the ER. When i complained about this to doctor mcdermott. They mocked me, I received a written communication after that also included a recommendation to a psychologist ... very funny, but wow the rudeness and general sense of "I don't care about you" is clear in these actions. Stay away.

A very good doctor who is EXCELLENT at referrals. The follow up, passion, and knowledge of fellow Chicago healthcare professionals is very valuable to anyone lucky enough to be under her care

I have had the privilege and luxury of going to Dr McDermott for nearly 20 years. She is a kind, thoughtful, considerate doctor who works with you on your treatment. She'll do the test, listen to you, and then offer two, three, four or five solutions. Than work with you to decide which one you want to employ. As she says, "I may be the doctor but it's your body how will we treat it together?" I have had the privilege and luxury of going to Dr McDermott for nearly 20 years. I have been a patient of Dr. McDermott for about 25 yrs. She is caring, patient, and very knowledgeable. Over the years, the specialists she has referred me to have all been topnotch. I have also kept these doctors to this date. She is a great doctor and truly cares for her patients.

I really like and respect Dr. McDermott. The one flaw is that my messages at times go for an entire day not being communicated even if they are urgent. I guess I am doomed if I don't take that office assistant's name because at times I call back, wondering what happened and nothing was recorded.
