Dr. Anju Verma

It's very unfortunate there aren't many endocrinologists in my immediate area. I visited this practice years ago myself and it was Terrible! I should've learned my lesson then!!! Now and more importantly it's my teenage daughter in need of help and once again Dr. Verma was extremely unhelpful! My daughter (college student) is experiencing serious hormonal issues (constant sweating, headaches, stomach pains, extreme fatigue, etc.) and can barely make it to class because of it. We had bloodwork and MRI done which clearly shows 3 areas for concern (all of which would cause my daughter's current symptoms according to what we found on the Mayo Clinic site), but Dr. Verma simply says "she doesn't know what the problem is and can only advise us based on what she knows." She then prescribes a medication to see if it helps and refers us to a Johns Hopkins endocrinologist after taking my copays and telling us nothing! The front desk staff isn't the best either! I'm soooo frustrated! Don't waste your time or money!

Horrible doctor. As many of the reviews mention she sees us in 5 minutes and seems to be in a hurry. She also forgot to make the correct blood test requests. I had to call the office, they told me once I go to Labcorp I should call them so they would send a proper lab request on the day of. Calling or texting this office is a waste of time. They are never available including during regular hours. I had to call for a couple of days multiple times in a role to get ahold of them. I’ve tried to schedule a follow up but once again their customer service was terrible, I was not able to get an answer from them through text or someone picking up the phone until now. It seems we need to beg to see this doctor for 5 minutes. She does not seem to care about the patient at all. When I mentioned that I was concerned I may have a syndrome, she said “Well then it was not diagnosed for years” and that’s it. She didn’t bother to ask any blood test to rule out the possibility or anything. Again, she seemed to be in a hurry to colect as much copayments as possible per day. It’s like a Walmart grocery shop where she makes money on quantity so she wants to schedule and see the largest number of patients per day in 5 minutes visit each If I could give 0 stars I would.

My appointment was on time. The doctor was very thorough and directly to the point. As usual it was a great visit.

Have been a patient of Dr Vermas for last few years. After a recent insurance change by me insurances make everything a pain. Dr. Verma went above and beyond to help me get my needed meds.

Everyone was very nice, and it is nice to be treated well since you are the patient in need of help.Dr.Verma was great. Also, I appreciated that the practice run on time not like other doctors you wait forever. They took me in the back on time. I was pleased and happy with my visit with Dr.Verma.

Very please with the interactions and management of my medical needs. The medical and COVID process is very efficient.

Today was my first visit as a new patient. I was very pleased with the appointment. The staff were super courteous and I was taken back promptly. Dr. Verma was kind and thorough and I felt cared for. Happy I made the decision to choose this office!

I went to Anju verma clinic staff was very good and coperative but DR Anju Verma was very rude she didn’t let me speak but whenever I try to speak she didn’t let me I was very confused how to explain her really very disappointed

I don't know how famous she is in thyroid or diabetes. But she was insincere in her way of dealing with the patient, and she ended up with a video call of only 5-10 minutes, and even noticed a few minutes later what was wrong with me. Her staff also treat patients insincerely. When I asked for another specialist's recommendation due to a founded problem which she said not her specialty, they responded that I needed to look for it at the insurance site or ask my PCP's office. I also even asked them to send my medical records and test results to the new specialist which required for their first patient, and Dr. Verma and her staff also responded me to ask my PCP to do all of that. She and her staff don't treat patients with sincerity.

They keep charging our card even though we received an email from them saying they would not charge the amount covered by insurance. Worst place ever. They charged the first time and then again for the same insurance covered expenses. STOP

This office both receptionist and doctor are very rude. The doctor does not listen well and when you try to explain issues with meds she lets it go over her head. When I expressed my issue with meds she was putting off again to find better solution. So she cut me off and told me to go back to primary to have her get me another doctor. I have no problem with doing that. I never had such a unfeeling disconnected doctor like her before. She is not as knowledgeable as most endocrinologist and has gotten my stuff mixed up before when speaking to me with another patient and I had to remind her that wasn't my meds. Doesn't Deserve 1-start - Verma was recommended by my GP and after two visits was told that while I have the condition that nothing could be done except through diet and exercise. Verma may be ok for others but clearly needs to work on her communication skills and apparently do some learning on what PCOS is and how it can be treated.

I switched to Dr. Verma a few years ago from another Endo I had seen for almost 17yrs. I like Dr. Verma for many reason - she is thorough, to the point, does not send for unnecessary tests, and she is very accommodating with appointments. My appointments don't take long, but I believe she does not miss a thing. She actually remembers her patients, asks about family and work (remembers conversations) - gets the whole picture of who you are. I have Type 1 Diabetes, I have recommended her to many people, and they also have had pleasant experiences with her. She is up to date on the latest technologies for insulin dependent diabetics and never hesitates to help get what is necessary for the best care. Dr. Verma has been my endocrinologist for years. She is always professional and thorough. She answers all my questions and I never felt rushed. I never have to wait more than a few minutes to be seen. Her staff is friendly and polite.

I have had four appointments with Dr. Verma, and so far have been impressed . She begins each appointment asking about how I am feeling, she is responsive to questions, and she has incorporated my thinking/concerns into my treatment plan. As some of the other reviews allude to, she has very direct and professional personality-she is not someone that is going to ask about your life or aspire to a personal connection. That tone extends to the general atmosphere of the practice. Difficult to understand, not responding to blood test results as needed and getting appropriate changes in place. Website portal is nice, and message options, however often questions are mis-understood and not answered in the next appt.

Very thorough and clear when it comes to your health.

It’s very convenient for making an appointment. The staffs were very nice about any questions. They sent several reminder to make you remember your appointment. Dr. Verma and nurses are very kindly. It was a good experience for me.

Would not recommend! You can only get ahold of the billing department via email and they are rude as hell!

THIRD REVIEW I continue to be very favorably impressed by every aspect of this practice, despite the rough beginning described in the original review below. We had a very smooth video meeting for our last appointment, and I'm particularly impressed by Dr. Verma's responsiveness to texts I've sent, for example to request a change to one of my prescriptions, and to ask a question about my home care instructions. So much more convenient than other ways of communicating with doctors between appointments. SECOND REVIEW I have seen Dr. Verma twice now. The second visit was a joy, and I feel the Dr. Verma continues to be doing an excellent job on her analysis and treatment of my diabetes. I was particularly impressed when I sent a text to Dr. Verma making a somewhat involved request. By that evening, I saw from a 3rd party website that she had gone ahead and taken care of my request without even requiring further clarification from me. As you will see below, this was a 180° turnaround from my initial experience with Dr. Verma. Since she never gave me any reason to doubt her medical expertise, my advice, if you have a negative experience with her "bedside manner," would be to give her another chance. You may see a completely different Dr. Verma, one that you are much happier with, the next time. ORIGINAL REVIEW Definitely a mixed bag of good and bad. The practice is tech savvy. They made pretty good use of texting, email, and their website. ("pretty good" as opposed to perfect. There were an awful lot of texts, perhaps too many. And they were sometimes unclear. For example, one asked for "confirmation" of the appt but did not say how they wanted me to confirm.) My condition is not urgent but it is serious. I felt that Dr. Verma's prescriptions and instructions were perfect for what is needed right now. I am extremely pleased with her medical actions. However, she is approximately the most unfriendly doctor I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of them in 75 years. She is a terrible listener. I had questions which I never got to ask or which she answered with "we'll discuss that later," and then didn't. She was robotic in her own manner, and tolerated nothing but robotic responses to her questions. I don't have another doctor to compare her to in her own specialty. Perhaps she is the best available. But I see many other doctors for other issues, and her "bedside manner" is the bottom of the barrel by far. I'm surprised she requested a review. I've read several other reviews about her and they almost all say the same thing. Either she's not reading them, or she is somehow incapable of showing a little friendliness, or she doesn't care. Dr Verma is an amazing physician. She provides timely yet thorough care. She was very attentive and empathetic and made sure I understood the next steps while setting appropriate expectations for the future.

This doctors office is the worst first who ever the ladies that’s answering the phone repetitively asks the date of birth and name when it was said in the beginning. Forget asking for a refill this doctor prescribed the item now I need it and they want you the patient to handle it on the next appointment visit. Which was 20 days away. What a crook so you want charge a patient when it could have been dealt on the phone and send a script to a mail order pharmacy. Stay away from this doctor there are better ones out there that actually responds and cares for a patients needs. Pros: (1) The office provides online scheduling and communication via email and text message, which is impressive for a doctor's office to provide its patients, and (2) accessing the Online Patient Portal is fairly convenient. However, there are a few "Buyer Beware" remarks which patients should consider when it comes to their overall patient experience... Cons: (1) Dr. Verma's staff follows strict protocols set forth by Dr. Verma herself, which prohibits the staff from thinking independently or circumventing unnecessary policies and procedures. For example, the staff will utilize the texting/emailing system and require you to provide old health records from providers you no longer have established care with. Additionally, you are required to bring a physical copy of your insurance card and ID to each appointment despite having provided them electronically prior to each visit. Although it is very efficient of the staff to reach out to patients for information, the administrative correspondence can seem rather redundant and even confrontational. (2) Dr. Verma is well-learned with regards to her technical knowledge. However, I would not advocate for her or her staff's written or verbal English communication. Misunderstandings not only become commonplace which creates unnecessary tension between the office and the patients, but I was further advised to tread cautiously with the physician since Dr. Verma has a demonstrated history of charging late and no-show fees to repeat patients who still make it to their appointments on-time. Secondly, patients should be aware of their shorter-than-normal appointment durations. The standard appointment time set forth by insurance is 45-minutes, but your appointment may be half that because the practice is determined to turnover patients quickly to generate revenue. As a result, Dr. Verma is far from empathetic and does not hesitate to have you reschedule when you begin to have questions or concerns. Worst patient care service! I highly recommend that anyone who is interested in or is being referred to this practice by another physician to do their research. It is a HUGE waste of time. The physician is impatient, insensitive, and rushes through the visits. There is no time or room for questions. I had several questions regarding lab results, but instead of taking the time, and being interested in my concerns I was left talking to the back of her head as she walked out the room. It’s the kind of practice where only the physician benefits from the visit because of the insurance claims. It’s not patient care oriented! Worst endocrinologist I’ve ever been too. Doesn’t care to hear about your health or your background even as a new patient. Dr verma is very rushed, unfocused. If you don’t have insurance that they make money from they treat you like your nothing. She’s Indian and for some disturbing reason she gives off strong prejudice vibes on race , Background and insurance. I thought I was the only one that noticed that until I read some of the reviews and it seems like a pattern of hers. The office itself is cheaply set up, could be cleaner and you can tell they put no effort into COVID protocols. Dr verma told me on the first day that my insurance wouldn’t cover any insulin pumps without even hearing me say I’ve had all my insulin pumps covered by my insurance. She immediately started to show disinterest in my health after we spoke about my insurance. She has a bad attitude for sure. She hung up on my zoom call because I asked her about documentation protocol at her practice. The average person can easily read her as not caring. First change she made in my medication almost sent me to the hospital. They do no paperwork so if you need documentation they will put up a huge argument on how they don’t provide documents for school or work. Scheduling is unorganized. I’ve had changed appointments at the last minute. Dr verma also will abandon her patients without notice. She will hold prescriptions hostage even if they are life saving medications. She practices endocrinology but doesn’t have any real people skills in order to regulate anyone. They participate in illegal protocols.
