The secretary that answers the phone for her is extremely rude when trying to get in contact with the doctor. Called multiple times and got the same rude person who will interrupt me when I’m trying to talk and and explain something and is extremely dismissive and no help at all. Shouldn’t have to call multiple times just to get told they will “leave a message for the doctor” every single time with no call back and no answers after calling. Absolutely ridiculous.
I found her bristly, hard to understand her thick accent. Difficult to have a conversation with her during the first office visit. When She did my colonoscopy and there was a poor prep, poor visibility. She told me accusingly, like I had done something wrong. Yet She did not want to repeat it in the near future despite my history. I won't be back.
Worst Dr visit I ever had. She never called back to tell me the results I was left in her office to tell me the results of the procedure but she never showed up. I called on the nurses and they didn’t answer either so I got up and left
I have had Dr. Basil for 2 years. She is the worst Doctor I could ever ask for. All she wants to do is a colonoscopy. I had one while I was in the Hospital for 6 days on January 2021 that she ordered. After my Colonoscopy she never came up to my Hospital Room to discuss my results. Now 6 weeks later I still don't know what she found. After leaving the Hospital I was running out of medicine. I would call her and leave a message with her Nurse. The message never seemed to get thru, and I would normally call the Doctor 3 & 4 times to finally get a response. I have since moved on to another Doctor. I hope others will too. It will not get any better
I started having severe GI symptoms four years ago (think IBS in overdrive). At first, Dr. Basil seemed compassionate and concerned. She ordered labs and performed a colonoscopy. When the tests came back inconclusive, she basically wrote me off. Over a two year period, I lost 30 pounds, when I really only had ten to lose. At my last appt. with her, she suggested that because I have anxiety, that it might be the cause of my weight loss. It was definitely not the cause, as I had my anxiety well under control and had for a long time. With that being said, the growing severity of my symptoms would make the calmest person anxious. At that point, I knew she was done looking for the cause of my symptoms, which had grown increasingly worse (she was not interested in hearing about that). From my own research, I learned that not enough biopsy samples were taken during my colonoscopy to rule out Celiac. I follow a gluten free diet, and it helps, but I don't want to live that way if it's not the true cause. I still have flares, but being at home during the pandemic has allowed me to put back some of the weight. My primary care now manages my symptoms, prescribes meds that help day to day and is sympathetic and understanding. I just got the name of another GI who is supposed to be amazing, but he is retiring soon, and may not take on a new patient.
Terrible. Dr Basil is not reaponding while you try to reach out ti get the answer of your question. Front desk also not picking up the call. It's been a week that she suppose to call me about my medication.
I would never use Dr. Basil again. Never calls the patient back, I honestly can’t comprehend how she can let a patient suffer for days and not call in a prescription. It four days of calling her office to finally get a return phone call. My week turned into a nightmare. Of course, I will be looking for a new doctor Monday.
I have had nothing but trouble dealing with Dr. Basil. She does not return phone calls, I have IBS and the past week I suffered at home for two days! She never called me back. I also blame her office staff, they don’t communicate at all and everyone tells a different story. I ha e never encountered a doctor like her. So yesterday after a lengthy conversation with her office, I finally gave up and will find another doctor.
I have been a patient of Dr. Basil's for almost a year. I have been diagnosed with some gastrointestinal issues. I was waiting on labs before she would prescribe me medicine for these issues. I left a message with her staff on Thursday of last week. It is now Tuesday of a new week. Not acceptable. Basically when she gets around to it. I am suffering and in pain now. I told them I will wait patiently like I have been. What else can I do. SMH

I have never been treated this awful by a doctor in my life. I had to walk right out on her that’s how rude she was all because I had a no call no show 2 years ago... she should not work with people

I've seen Dr. Basil a couple of times in the last year or so, and thought she was a good and caring physician. However, two days ago (Thursday)I contacted her office to request a prescription to treat a flare up of my Ulcerative Colitis. I explained to the person on the phone that I was in discomfort and would appreciate the script filled as soon as possible. I was told she was at the hospital doing procedures and that a message would be sent to her. Yesterday (Friday), no sign of a prescription being sent to my local, or mail order, pharmacy, so I called back and spoke to the same person on the phone. And, I got the same answer; the doctor was at the hospital, she was sent the message, and there was nothing else that could be done until the doctor was able to 'access the system and retrieve her messages'! Oh, and, that might not be until Monday when she is back in the office. It's 2019! She can't get her messages and authorize a faxed prescription for 4 days?!? What kind of doctor allows a patient to be in pain for 4 days waiting on a script authorization?
Not a nice person .. demeaning to patients.. doesn’t answer questions .. has superior attitude with respect to others.
