Dr. Anil Gungor

Dr. Gungor was very dismissive and rude when I brought my daughter in for reoccurring ear infections, when we were about to leave he told my 5 year old daughter and I that she should go easy on the calories in the future.

Very dismissive to my concerns. Did not follow up with biopsy results as we were told. Clearly did not communicate with his staff or review my son’s file because I had to repeat his full history and remind him as to why we were referred to him to begin with.

I am writing this review 20 yrs later because Dr. Gungor moved his practice out of Pittsburgh, PA. I always wanted to give him the best review and thank you he deserved for saving my son's life. Back in 2003 my oldest son was 4 yrs old and not talking much. He was a very sick kid with constant cough, 2 bouts of pneumonia and chronic fluid in his ears. Went to many PCP visits( different docs) and they would just treat him with antibiotics and OTC remedies. He truly never had ear infections but just had very small amount of fluid in his middle ear. The PCP would not give me a referral to see the ENT or 2nd opinion for ear tubes. (Back then you had to have so many ear infections to see a ENT and referrals were hard to get through Blue Shield). He passed 2 hearing tests and was having behavior problems. They wanted to diagnose him with mild autism. I already had him in speech therapy but it was slow going. Then my youngest son who was 2 yrs old at the time ironically had chronic ear infections. Finally I got a referral to see Dr. Gungor for my youngest son's ear infection. During that visit I asked him to look in my oldest son's ears. He immediately said he needs ear tubes asap. Two weeks later my oldest son got tubes and was SPEAKING FULL SENTENCES within a week!! Dr. Gungor explained to me about the middle ear and how a small amount of fluid (sometimes can't be seen) can affect a child and speech and their hearing is muffled like under water. Thank you Dr. Gungor for listening to me back then and understanding when no one else would. I just knew my son did not have autism. It was the small amount of chronic fluid in his ears causing all the issues. He grew up with no speech or behavioral problems and is a successful 23 yr old. Dr. Gungor thank you again and hope you can help others like you helped my family. Started with an ENT on Fort Polk; who referred us to a pediatric ENT. Our insurance made us go to an ENT in Alexandria, who then referred us to a pediatric ENT....which finally led us to Dr. Gungor. Both myself and my 16 year old feel confident in his care and like we are moving towards answers.

i brought my 2 year old in for a visit and this doctor repeatedly told him to "SHUT UP" and calm down and "can you please shut him up".... so his aunt took him out of the room and as she was walking out he taunted my TWO YEAR OLD and said "BUH BYE STOP WHINING NOW" and got right in his face mocking him by waving 2inches from his face. we drove 2.5 hours for this. Not to forget about the first time we drove that far they "mis-scheduled us so the doctor wasnt there" we were told being pedicatric they can only come on certain days.. so why they didnt verify his age before scheduling the appointment is insane!!! i will NEVER return and i will NEVER reccommend this doctor or this facility! because even the scheduling department isnt any good!!!!!!! I left a voicemail and sent in a complaint and no one called me back or even emailed me to apologize for this man!

He was so rude to me when I brought my baby in. The GI Dr. Wanted me to have his noisy breathing checked and hopefully have a scope done to rule out any underlying cause because he had it since he was a few weeks old. After having surgery for hernias and other things, the surgeons also suggested I go see the ENT for his breathing. Well, we went to our appointment and this Dr. Never mentioned a scope. All he did was check his throat and rudely started poking my 4mth old saying he is just too big. All this extra weight is inexcusable. If he wasn't soo big he would breathe fine. He continued to be rude like this until I walked out. I was NOT happy. His pediatrician is fine with his size because he is the height of a 7mth old so his weight isn't an issue. This Dr. Didn't even check his height so he solely went off of his weight an his height from the charts from a month or so ago. He said i should not continue to overfeed him. My son literally takes 4 6oz bottles in a 24 hr period. At 4 mths old, that's not a whole lot. He is just a big boy and was big at birth. Maybe I caught this dr on a bad day bit I hope he doesn't treat everyone like this. He was so rude to me when I brought my baby in. Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Gungor. Kind and compassionate with our daughter. A great ENT for children.
