What an amazing experience we've had with Dr. Andy and his entire staff! My daughter had some pretty gnarly teeth which required braces and a Herbst device. Fast forward 4 years and we are both overly excited with the outcome! She finally feels confident in her smile. We loved the office and staff so much that we've decided to continue our dental appointments there instead of our old dentist. Thank you Dr Andy and staff!!

Dr. Andrew Kapust's office has been amazing in carring for both our daughters teeth. We have been through appliances and braces for both and they have taken good care of us. My family has come to see Dr. Andy a few times now and every time we have such a positive experience. Doc takes the time to explain the procedures to the kids as well as the parents and spends a lot of time talking about the science of dentistry. Also highly focused on prevention and minimal intervention.

I am writing to highly endorse the office environment and dental work of Dr. Andy Kapust. Dr. Andy Kapust runs the most streamlined child dentistry factory in the business. His office is…unique. One wall is adorned with the head of rhino that Dr. Andy apparently shot while on Safari. Legend has it that he killed the magnificent beast with a blow-dart he had dipped in Novocain. A clown is also tucked into one corner, and it is rumored that Dr. Andy’s father (Dr. John) bought it from PT Barnum’s son in 1927. His staff is competent, capable, and the workers also have a variety of…unique skills. Let’s meet some of the staff! That upbeat voice with the excited greeting you hear on the phone is Deon. There could be a midlatitude cyclone off the coast, horizontal hail blowing through the parking lot, and tsunami warnings for Budd Bay, but nevertheless, “It’s a GREAT day at Dr. Kapust’s office!!!!!” Anne is a ninja who also works for the CIA: it’s obvious as soon as you look at her head dress. When she’s not moonlighting with national security jobs she works as a Registered Dental Hygienist and is happy to discuss the ways that food can affect oral hygiene and tooth health. Heidi’s eyes have been modified to more efficiently clean teeth. The gaze from her steely blue eyes can blast the plaque right off your child’s teeth thanks to her proprietary blend of meditation and health foods. If there is plaque flying around the office when you walk in it is likely due to this laser-like capability. Kaylyn is an especially deft and capable hygienist who cheerfully refers to her dental tools as “torture implements” and the X-Ray machine as “The Child Microwave”. But don’t worry: her friendly banter never stops while she removes your child’s tooth with “The Tooth Tornado” or cleans their teeth with the patented Meat Grinder™. Ashley is the owner of “The Finger of Shame”. Woe to the small child who breaks a bracket by eating a hard pretzel, or uses their tongue to fiddle with a band, for if something breaks then…out comes the The Finger of Shame! Ashley has also been repeatedly fined by the American Dental Association for “Excessive giggling while doing dental work.” Tammie’s special superpower is a complete and encyclopedic database of all dentistry and orthodontic events in Thurston County. You can ask her, for instance, to provide you with the dental history of the mayor of Olympia and she’ll say, “Yes, broke a bicuspid in March of ’93, impacted incisors affected them in 3rd grade, and they had an unhealthy addiction to Dr. Pepper.” Brandy, Michelle, and Nicole are also outstanding members of the team: whether it is re-heating the crowbar, disinfecting the pliers, or re-sharpening the ice axe, these ladies absolutely know how to use and maintain high-grade steel in a dentist’s office!!! Dr. Andy is the Big Boss, the Head Honcho, the Top Dog, the Main Man. With his glasses and additional layer of jeweler’s loupes he moves from chair to chair in the office like an earnest, dedicated, soft-spoken, 6-eyed Smile Artist. Picasso had his pencil and paintbrush, and Dr. Andy’s artistic preference is for saliva-resistant tooth cement, wires, and brackets. His medium is not a canvas, but the teeth and bones of your child’s mouth. With this raw material he will craft, forge, and mold a splendid smile on your child’s face no matter how unwilling they may be! My daughter broke her two front teeth nearly in half on the playground. Dr. Andy and all of the staff were absolutely wonderful getting us seen promptly, caring for her, and setting her up for long term success. We couldn't be more pleased with the care we've received there.

Dr. Andy' Office is phenomenal at providing care for our kids. They take great care in providing options for preventative maintenance and helping our kiddos be as comfortable as possible. We appreciate their methods of NOT putting our daughter under anesthesia and still allowing her to be comfortable. They are kid friendly through and through, as there are always a large number of teens around getting serviced as well. Wow - all these 5 star reviews...hmmm... be careful. My adult children have had to spend thousands in extra orthodontic costs due to a small wire that was placed behind their front teeth after having braces removed. I never knew this little wire was there, and we were never told to return to have it removed. This wire pushed their front teeth forward and out of alignment. The doctors treating them now say the wire is obsolete, no longer being used in the dental world, and are wondering why is was never removed. In my opinion, cosmetic looks are more important to Dr. Kapust than providing the best treatment for kids. A couple of examples are that Dr. Andy wanted to pull my daughter's baby teeth so he could start treatment - we said no, knowing they would eventually fall out on their own. When my son was in middle school, he wanted to place a permanent bite plate in his mouth. As you may know, this causes discomfort and a lisp, just at the time my son was just trying to fit in as a teen. Dr. Andy said "you know it will mean braces for 6 more months" - we didn't care. In both cases, I felt like were were sheep, meant to do what he said to get out fast, so he could get on to charging his next patient for his expensive services. Great dentist for kids! My kiddo just finished up their ortho work, and had a great result correcting a big overbite that made it hard to bite or chew. Everyone in the office is nice and friendly, and they work hard to make going to the dentist fun. When my kids were really little we landed here because our previous family dentist couldn't deal with the kids anxiety and behavior at the dentist, and Dr Andy's office was a calm haven for them both. I came here as a kid and saw Dr Andy’s dad! When I moved back to the area I was excited to bring my kids to the same office I went to as a child. Nothing has changed in a good way! Friendly staff, knowledgeable back office and clean covid protocols. Very impressed with Dr Andy too. Spent time explaining things to me - even though I’m in the dental field it was nice to feel valued and establish a rapport with him! Added bonus he does ortho too— all the best care under one roof! We began seeing Dr. Kapust when my daughter was about 2 years old, and it became apparent pretty quickly that we would one day need to address her bite, as it was not developing normally. Dr. Kapust kept a close eye on her bite at each of her cleanings, and as she got older, and the picture of what was going on with her growth and the direction of future teeth coming in became clearer, we could see she was in store for some major orthodontic work. Our now 7 year old was very timid at the dentist and had a lot of anxiety about starting the process, and neither my husband or I had ever needed any orthodontic work ourselves, so it felt very foreign and overwhelming for all of us! We had a lot of family and friends that also said things like, “She seems so young to start orthodontia!” which, of course, increased our worry too! Dr. Kapust and his team (special shout out to Tammie, who is so knowledgeable!) were very patient and explained in detail everything going on in her mouth and why now was the time to start -so we could work with her natural development and save her from much more difficult procedures down the road. Once we understood, the focus shifted on decreasing her anxiety and getting her ready to start the process. We came in for an extra cleaning visit for a little more exposure to the office, and the hygienists and technicians realized that she is far more comfortable when everything is explained to her too (thank you, Ashley!). By the time she was 8, Dr. Kapust was confident she was ready. She had a rapid palate expander put in to address both a cross bite and an underbite, and within about a month and a half her teeth had shifted dramatically and she no longer presented with either. This was only possible because of where she is in her physical development, and drove home to me just how valuable Dr. Kapust’s knowledge is, not just as an orthodontist but specifically as a pediatric orthodontist, who has a thorough understanding of children’s growth patterns. My daughter still has a lot of orthodontic work to do, but we’re confident Dr. Kapust has made it 100x times easier and less traumatic for her in the long run, and she is so much more confident and comfortable at the dentist! The hygienists and technicians are so wonderful, and the office staff is so warm and helpful (special thank you to Deon!). We’re lucky to have Dr. Kapust and his excellent team in our community! Both of my kids started see Dr Kapust at very young ages. Through the years I have experienced the kindness of his staff and their care expertise. The staff is great with everything from kindly greeting you to taking care of the billing. They are kind and compassionate and professional. My kids always felt comfortable at the dentist office. Dr. Kapust is awesome too, from the way he talks to the kids to the very thorough and careful way he plans each individual treatment plan. We recently had a dental emergency with our daughter, the staff was amazing. First of all they took us in right away in spite of the fact that they were having a very busy clinic day. They started treatment and told us what to do next for the problem. We ended up having to come back later that day and again they took us in right away. In spite of the busy day 2 of the staff stayed with my daughter. Dr. Kapust was very good at analyzing the situation to see if he could fix the problem, he reached out to oral surgeons just in case we needed to go that route. Our children have been seeing Dr. Kapust for 3 years. All the staff are wonderful, patient with little ones and able to connect with older children. Having dental and orthodontics in the same office is very helpful as you're making decisions about what's coming. Our youngest needed extensive dental repair and we were very impressed with the care and attention of Dr Kapust and his staff. They helped us to manage the problem long enough to avoid unnecessarily, early, use of anesthesia. When it did come time for a procedure they scheduled it to take care of everything at once and brought in a professional anesthesiologist, with all the necessary equipment, making for a successful treatment. I went to this dentist office as a child and am so thankful to be able to take my kiddos here. At the young ages of 2 and 5 they have never been afraid of the dentist and have fun when they are there. It’s such an inviting and kid-friendly environment.

My four children have all been patients of Dr John and Dr Andy. The staff has become like family to me. They are caring, thorough, knowledgeable and kind. My only regret is my youngest is now 18 and we must move on.

He unfortunately needed some fillings, and although I was super nervous to have him put under sedation, the whole team there made it way less nerve wracking. Obviously the whole procedure went on without a hitch, and my son has no recollection, therefore still looks forward to going in to be checked. This is the dentist I went to when I was a kid and now my 3 year old goes here! The staff and dentists are really great. This was my daughter's first time laying down by herself to have her teeth cleaned. Her technician was incredible! She sat her down and showed her every tool and allowed her to play with each tool so that when the technician needed to use that tool, my daughter was already familiar with what it was. If there was ever an example of incredible customer service, Kapust Dentistry sets the (gold) standard. From literal start to finish, we were made to feel like we were their only patients. Having moved recently and needing a dentist close our home, I decided to call Kapust after reading the glowing online reviews. The receptionist was not only helpful, but friendly and accommodating scheduling my three kids for new patient appointments. When we checked in, the ladies at the front desk were so sweet and patient (I have a two year old who is wary of EVERYTHING, including new environments and people). The dental assistants took turns letting my two youngest see ALL the tools and equipment, even going so far as to give them their own masks and sets of gloves. We were made to feel at ease in a place that normally is very rushed and clinical. Everyone wears a headset and their level of organization and communication? I think the White House could take a note from Dr. Kapust's book. Speaking of the Dr. himself...any and all questions were welcomed, and he spent a lot of time with us, which is uncommon for medical professionals. Something that I appreciate very much. The kids got lanyards with their own individual cards that allow them to accrue points for various things (like having cavity free visits, showing up to your appointment on time, etc) which can get them prizes. For things they actually want! One of the best parts? A very sweet dental assistant sent us a letter a few days after our visit, with stickers inside for my daughters because she remembered that my kids like Moana. Personal touches go a long way, and getting to know your clients is a rare and special thing these days. Best dentist, hands down. We absolutely LOVE Dr. Andy and his entire team! The hygienists have always been so patient and extremely kid friendly. They make my trip with two little ones stress free and easy. We drive 1+ hr to this office because we won't go anywhere else.

My kids like this dentist so much that they are actually upset that they only get to go twice a year for checkups! I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old who have both being seeing Dr. Andy since they were one. We really struggled with our little man from the beginning, who experienced decay very early due to crowding and nursing. Dr. Andy gave us amazing advice and worked with us closely to stop the decay process so that we could continue breastfeeding but also so that my son never had to have surgery. We have taken our son to Dr. Kapust and his team since he was 2 years old. We took him based upon a recommendation and have been grateful for it. My son had two prior incidents at other dentists who advertised that they were kid-friendly and based on his experiences my son was terrified of another dentist visit. My son loves going to the dentist now! It is an awesome kid friendly experience with Dr. Kapust and his team. Everyone is friendly, talks to him in a way that makes him comfortable with what they are doing and he gets prizes/awards for his visits and progress. Dr. Andy does a wonderful job with my 2 kids who have been patients of his for several years. My kids love his staff and his easy going, fun office. I myself was one of his adult patients. I could not be happier at age 35 with my smile after having my braces from Dr. Andy! Dr. Andy and his team are amazing. A couple months ago they performed an emergency crown on my 10 year old who had never been in. Today we were on for his routine check up and they made it painless. I wish there had been dentists like him when I was a kid!

My 3 year old needed some serious dental work and I searched and searched for a dentist and just wasn't feeling comfortable with them. I went to Dr Andy and we will never see another dentist! We're out of network with him bit it's worth every penny. I usually have to drag my little guy out of there because he loves it so much. Weve been bringing our kids to see Dr Andy for 7 years. The whole office experience is great, staff is wonderful. They're always smiling! The tender care they give to my kids is really appreciated. The whole operation of the staff working together to really treat patients with care and honesty is so wonderful. There have been visits that made my kids nervous but with Dr.Andy's patience, he'sbuilt a really awesome relationship with my kids (and us parents!). We love Dr Andy and his staff! We've been going here for both of our children for 8 years now. My kids have had ALL of our dental needs met here from cleanings to extractions and soon to be braces. We switched to Dr Andy because the practice we were at made my oldest uncomfortable with their short tempers and abrasive manner. Dr kapust office really changed how my kids view the dentist now! The office is warm and friendly and so much fun for kids. They really go out of their way to make sure the kids feel like seeing the dentist is the best day ever. They are very conscientious about not frightening the kids and patient and understanding with those little ones that are initially scared. We have had nothing but positive experiences for several years at Dr. Kapust's office. The staff is amazing with young children and the open-room concept is comforting for the little ones and sensible for parents with more than one child visiting the office at a time. Dr. Kapust is extremely thorough and never rushes through an appointment. We will never go anywhere else!

Taking three kids under the age of 8 to the dentist can be difficult, however Dr. Kapust and crew do a great job of ensuring we're all taken care of throughout the appointments. Customer service really is above and beyond and the kids have a lot of fun.

Everyone that works there is super inviting and sweet. Right when you walk in, you immediately feel welcome. This is a wonderful place to go to for braces, or even just a regular dentist. I highly recommend Dr. Kapust.

Dr, Kapust has been the best Dentist/Orthodontist i've ever had for my children. I have an autistic Son and the staff was amazing. I also have a daughter who love to go to the Dentist now, She loves to pick a prize when done. They make my kids feel important. There is not a turnover, so they all know your children. We love this dental office for our son. The staff are all extremely friendly and go out of their way to make our child feel comfortable. From the very first visit to now, my son has absolutely no fear when it comes to a dentist visit. He actually gets excited because he gets to pick a small prize when he is done. I was referred to Dr. Kapust by our family dentist because our 7 year old's teeth are already an orthodontic cry for help. I am beyond impressed by the whole office. The staff across the board (front desk, hygienists, billing ladies) are very friendly and informative. The set up is open concept so you can see all the kids and hygienists doing their thing. It is very calming and normalizes the whole experience for a nervous child. Plus they have a points and prizes system that my kids are super in to. Dr. Kapust is terrific, he really took his time to explain exactly what was going on in that tiny jacked up mouth, and patiently answered all my questions. He laid out a few different treatment options, and advised a very conservative approach that involves minimal interventions and (free!) monitoring until all the teeth are ready for the full ortho onslaught. When I took my older son (with slightly crooked teeth) for a consult he told us that everything actually looks pretty good and that depending on how his jaw grows we may escape braces altogether! I never felt that I was being pressured or "up sold" into unnecessary services. I absolutely recommend Dr. Kapust. I started taking my son there when he was 2 and it was a great experience for him; now he is 11 and he loves going to the dentist. He requested to go to the dentist on his birthday 2 years ago and has gone on his birthday ever since. They go out of their way to make him feel special on his birthday and every other time he goes. They make going to the dentist a fun and enjoyable experience. Even the “scary” stuff is approached in a way that makes my son comfortable. I really appreciate that Dr. Kapust is proactive and catches problems early so the treatment is much less invasive and easier on the child.
