doctor always reviews labs and testing, explaining the significance. he takes time to answer any questions so that i am confident that we have the best treatment plan and i understand how to manage my diagnosis. i never feel doctor is rushed, even if he is running behind due to other emergent situations. i feel confident in doctor's clinical skills and appreciate his caring. i appreciate the skills, professionalism, and cordiality of all the staff.

I went to this appointment totally blinded, not knowing my outcome, so to say. Dr. Himelstein was so thorough with explaining my condition, setting up test and later explaining the results, I'll recommend him and his staff to everyone. Today I'm very aware and confident with my overall health condition and needs.

Professional, efficient and personable

I have been visiting Dr. Himelstein for close to 6 years now, for I had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Right from the beginning I felt the Dr. was communicating both the good and the bad. He also let me know as I am sure others, that he may be running late due to the fact he would be spending the time each patient needed to answer all their questions. He was very honest with me, and very encouraging through the 5 year process, that I have recently gone through. His staff was available, as needed, and all were very compassionate. His scheduler was very helpful, remembered me by name, and always greeted with a smile. The things he could control were done so , which was important since the things he could not control not so pleasant, chemo. All in all I am very happy to call him my Dr. and would recommend him to any and all. Finally, the procedure and path that we followed was very successful, and that cannot be underestimated. Thank you Dr. Himelstein.

Dr. Himelstein is absolutely superb. I like how he explains things and how he takes time to listen to what I say. He answers my questions and gives me suggestions when I ask for them. He is very personable and remembers my family members and friends. He is very knowledgeable and makes sure that I understand what he is saying about my treatment and my disease. I feel very confident with the way he handles my care and treatment. He and his staff are quick to respond to my telephone calls and I never have felt they were not genuinely concerned. He has a very conscientious staff who follow through with you.

Dr. Himelstein has a terrific bedside manner; a good and responsive listener, communicates complicated issues quite well and has a great sense of humor.

He is caring but direct with his treatment and in answering questions. He obviously is experienced and knowledgeable. I have several friends who have been treated by him and I have heard only positive comments from them as well. You may have to wait for him, but he is worth it.

My PPO referral to Dr Himelstein Very anxious as I knew this was ‘cancer’ He put me at ease and explained the next steps. Took additional blood work and came back for a follow up to explain the meaning of the results This ‘watch and Wait’ is hard to go through but have another 4 month follow up in late April. I am glad that Delaware has a renowned Oncology center

DR.Himelstein has been extremely helpful and courteous in treating my myelofibrosis . His staff has made every effort to schedule my Infusion at the Newark hospital, but it is very crowded.

What an experience to encounter such a physician. He did an extensive physical(which I haven't experienced in many years). Asked appropriate questions and explored my history. He explained the ramifications of a possible diagnosis. Also, he repeated appropriate bloodwork. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Himelstein is one of the most professional and kind doctors I've ever met. He gives me heads-up about the long waiting time and apologizes for it. I respect such candidness. He goes over all my medical history, asking questions to remind me of info that I don't even remember. He spends sufficient time listening to my condition and answering all questions. My mother went to Dr. Himelstein for many years. She kept an appointment twice yearly because she was at high risk of colon cancer. A person who believed in doctors, she alerted him when she lost lots of weight and complained of feeling tired. She trusted Dr. Himelstein and expected him to help prevent her from this horrific cancer. August 2014, from an emergency ward visit, my mother was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer. DO NOT TRUST HIM. She died 4/2016.

Dr. Himelstein is careful, kind, clear and attentive to his patients' needs and anxieties. While the "wait time" may sometimes be longer than expected, he is worth the wait.

Dr. Himelstein has a great bedside manner. He seems to understand and he listens. The bad thing is I've waited up to 1.75 hrs waiting for my appointment. I put up with the long wait because I want him to take his time with me.
