I am in my 50’s and was nervous about a pelvic exam especially by a male since it has been so long. But unlike “Drizzy” who posted negatively, I wasn’t looking to find a friend in Dr. Gellens, I was looking for a good doctor. I didn’t find a good doctor, I found a GREAT doctor. He is very thorough and caring. He is helping me finally get to the root of some problems I have been experiencing in very little time. He, himself, has called me to advise and follow up. Great doctor. I saw Gellens every time i went in for an appointment. He is very professional and friendly & made me feel comfortable

This is by far the best Doctor I have ever had. He is very caring. His sense of humor may be dry at times but not rude and non caring like the other review said. He cares about his patients and takes his time. I would trust him 1000 times.

Always refer him to any friends looking for a good OBGYN In the Community He delivered 3 of my 4 children all C-Sections. You can't even see my scar. Excellent surgeon

He is the worse doctor I have ever had. He shows no compassion or empathy. He is very unfriendly! I had to switch doctors because he ended up being disrespectful and rude at my last appointment. I would not recommend him to anyone. This pregnancy has not been so great and you would think he would be more understanding. one of my friends also had a bad experience with him and had to file a complaint! Thumbs down for him!! Not a good experience with Dr Gellens. When I started seeing him he told me I may have a miscarriage. He scheduled me twice every two week to see the improvement. On the second visit I waited and waited the Laura the office manager comes out and tells me Dr Gellens is not going to b able to see me that he said it was better a week after like that they can go ahead and do my blood work. So I said ok, I show up to my appointment 3 mins late and the front desk lady tell me Sorry Dr is not going to

The staff at Dr. Gellens' office is incredibly inept, doesn't care one bit and won't lift a finger to help you. Beware! I have never dealt with such incompetence and lack of work ethic... So much so that being a person that typically does not leave reviews, I had to say something. Moving on to a different Doctor, I've had enough!

I am 29 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I went to my third appointment with Dr Andrew Gellens yesterday afternoon. It was honestly the worst experience of my life! He was supposed to be my OB GYN for the last 3 months yet I had NO ultra sound scheduled with him during this whole time! (I ended up using an independent company to get my own ultrasound and paid for them out of pocket cause I really wanted to see my baby and know the sex!) I went to get blood work and urine done for Dr Gellens and after results came back he found that he had missed checking off certain tests which were required to be completed so he had to send me BACK to blood work for MORE blood and MORE urine because of HIS mistake! In our appointments he straight out told me that these "mistakes" (which he had made) were my fault and that we only have a couple months till my sons birth and that we will be lucky to get these tests done in time. He made me cry BOTH of my last visits. The nurses were really nice and even one admin who worked there referred me to a different office with a different OB GYN and definitely was hinting to me that she knew he was a jerk! He's just a really harsh person and not personable or happy at all! I NEVER got eye contact and he NEVER smiled once. He was like a robot each time he walked into the room. I scheduled this last appointment with Dr. Gellens to discuss my ongoing anxiety and panic attacks I've been experiencing and he literally said, "maybe if you took your pregnancy more seriously and were more proactive, you wouldn't have so much anxiety"!!! It has been a rough pregnancy for me this round, but after switching from Dr Gellens to my current OB GYN, I realize that the only reason it has been rough is because I chose the wrong doctor from the start. Save yourself valuable time, unneeded stress and chose yourself a doctor who actually enjoys his job and making his patients feel comfortable. Another thing that really upset me and brought me down was the fact that Dr Gellens INSISTED I get my tubes tied. Now I am only 24 years old and it is MY decision whether I want this procedure and each time I visited him he kept pressuring and pressuring for me to sign documentation for my tubes to be tied at the same time as my c-section. Any woman can understand that if I requested this information, that would be one thing, but for him just to bring it up and keep pushing it felt very uncomfortable and put me in an even more awkward position with him. One more instance that made me feel eery and the only positive thing that EVER came out of Dr Gellens mouth was that I had a very nice C-section scar from my last pregnancy and whoever did my surgery did a really good job, and he would say this every single visit... And honestly this didn't make me feel any better, because he is supposed to be delivering my son via c-section this time.... Please reassure me that you are going to give me just as small a scar as my last! HA! Worse experience of my life. Us woman deserve to be treated with respect, comfort, peace of mind, and should NEVER feel pressured, judged, mistreated, and looked down upon during this delicate and important time in our life. Choose a doctor who will be honest, give you a smile and reassure you that everything is going to be okay. Don't waste your time going to Dr Gellens. Great OB/GYN!! Very thorough with procedures. Made me feel very comfortable and his nurses were supportive. Sometimes I had to wait due to Dr. gellens delivering a baby but he never seemed underpressure. He delivered both my babies. Strict and to the point about what should be done. I never had to wait for an appointment.
