Dr. Andrew Alshab

Dr. Andrew Alshab has been treating me for intractable neck pain for 6 years. He is the one who urged me to seek neurosurgeon consult when I was not aware of my urgent need. I had a Posterior C3 through C5 Laminectomy. It prevented my collapsed cervical spine from further damaging my spinal cord but I have lifetime pain issues. He has compassionately cared for my needs since my first visit. I am clearly aware that I will never be completely pain free but that said I believe that he has always acted in my best interest. I am a physician and have long felt strong narcotics are a slippery slope. I also know that if that is what a patient is seeking they will never be happy with other care and modalities.He has always been respectful of my fear of unnecessary invasive procedures and escalating doses of narcotics. Only gave 1star because I couldn't give it a negative 10 alslab said that if I didn't take his epidural again he was going to take me off all pain and muscle relaxer meds and he did. New pain management Dr says he's way out of line.

I'm only giving 1 star because it wouldn't let me give zero. He does not listen to the patient. I didn't feel comfortable taking an Rx he was trying to give me(not too mention it conflicts with another med I am on!). He yelled at me, made me feel like a drug seeker; even though I wasn't even asking for opioids, he told me it was that or nothing, made me cry and didn't even care. I have been in terrible pain for years. When I get too bad to stand the pain, the ER gives me an IV and gets the pain gone. I was sent to Dr. Alshab, and with the first procedure, I was in a lot better shape. The second time it took 2 days to do it's work, and this is my 9th day with no pain. It has been YEARS since there has been no pain. I am so very happy and grateful to him. I am very impressed by his professional manner and the effectiveness of the treatments, along with the wonderful nurses that work with him. I have been in terrible pain for years. Excellent Doctor. Competent and compassionate, he thoroughly answers all questions and gave me options on the pain management in the future. I felt particularly pleased because he really understood the type of back pain I was experiencing. Here was a person who could relate because he has had patients with similar problems. The hip injection was over before I realized it. I highly recommend him.

MUCH more to come. Too much pain to think clearly at this point.

This doctor will not give up on you. He will do everything humanely possible to make you better.

This doctor is the epitome of pain doctors! I am thankful he took me on and has put me on a path to realize you don't need drugs to survive!

Awesome doctor

I cannot say enough about Dr Alshab. He is the only Dr that has spent the time with me to discuss my options, pro's and con's. He cares about you as an individual and is very empathetic. He has changed my outlook from pessimistic to optimistic. I know now that I will get better. Forever grateful.

Dr Alshab has been my pain management Doctor for over a year now and has taking the time to listen to me and do everything he can to help me. Today Dr. Alshab and his team put in a trial spinal stimulator. They did every to make sure I was comfortable and everything met my needs. I had a hard time fi ding a doctor who didnt just push pain pills(which I didnt take opiods)on me and send me on my way. Dr Alshab found the right mix of nerve meds that worked for me and now this trial I cant thank him enough! Most amazing Doctor I have ever met! This is a very difficult line of work. Dealing with patients who are in pain, balancing what the patient needs to continue a good quality of life. Dr. Alshab and his staff are very caring professionals. They have seen me through 3 major surgeries. I appreciate them.

He frightened me! He will tell you to do as he says or else! I never went back. Since seeing him we tried to look up his medical license in Michigan and there isn't one for an Andrew Alshab!
