Dr. Lambert failed my child. After taking my son to this office for several years I was basically told that despite all of the patching and work that we have done that my son was basically going to have a lazy eye for the rest of his life anyway and that his vision was going to be permanently damaged. After doing research for the last couple of years and finding a new pediatric ophthalmologist I found out that eyedrops were available if the patching wasn’t effective enough to black out the good eye during daily treatments. I was shocked when I found out this out because I was told that she was one of the best pediatric ophthalmologist in New Jersey when I went here. Why was I not offered all kinds of options for my son‘s eye? My cousin’s son also was offered surgery for the same issue my son has. I still question these things to this day and now that I’ve taken him to a new pediatric ophthalmologist he is having great success. There is hope for his eye. Dr. Lambert told me patching after seven years old would never work for my son. That simply was not true and had she provided us with information about eyedrops my son probably would’ve been OK & not suffering with this issue any longer at least not to this extent. His new pediatric ophthalmologist has recommended it and it has been absolutely successful and they have provided him with eyedrops this time around. I am still astonished that we wasted so much time and money and are still being billed for work that wasn’t completed and for advice that was given incorrectly. That very least the one bill that I am being charged for should be forgiven since my son is permanently living with a lazy eye and still has to receive treatment from another doctor years later which costs us both time and money. This was absolutely terrible. My 6 year old daughter was seen in the ER over the weekend and told she needed to see a pediatric opthamologist in the next 2-3 days. She had a severe case of periorbital cellulitis even after being on medication. I called this doctor because of the great reviews and they said they were so double booked that they couldn’t see her for the next month or two and that I should call another doctor. They didn’t want to see a picture or anything, just dismissed it and literally said find someone else. Then they called me back and said “we may have a cancellation today,” and took all my information. Then they called me back and said “sorry we don’t have anything.” It is so disappointing that doctors could be so inconsiderate for a young child and not be able to fit them in the schedule for months, even after being told to see someone by an ER doctor. I was just turned away from an appointment for my son at this disgusting excuse for an ophthalmologist’s office because the office assistant they sent out to greet and “screen” us took it upon herself to diagnose my son (who is 1 year old, and in daycare) with an affirmative cold. He exhibited no signs of coughing, sneezing, hacking, or leaking of fluids from any visible cavities. All she needed to hear was that he may have a cold (mind you - it is fall, it is NJ, and he is in daycare). The office refused to see us and suggested we book another appointment. Mind you - we waited 3 MONTHS for this appointment! They did not even have the common sense to verify whether he was sick, literally not even seeing him to check if he had a fever, cough, or any other VERIFIED symptoms of being ill. Not to mention, doctors have a duty of care to their patients. My son could have been going blind and needed to be immediately seen and diagnosed. They did not give one ounce of care. On top of that, the office manager came out to try and diffuse the situation and basically confirmed they were taking the word of their unqualified staff member who did nothing to verify anything except ask two questions, over the parent, who lives with the child every day. I’ve never felt such a level of disgust and shame towards a medical professional. Would not recommend going here if you want to treated like a human being, or cherish your time and sanity.

This office has abusive billing practices. After having several annual eye appointments for my kids with them where I paid my co-pay and my insurance covered the remainder, last year they billed the visit in a way that the insurance didn't approve. Not my fault and I paid my co-pay. Despite their own recognition that the way they billed it was incorrect or it wasn't a covered service, this office has tried to collect a debt of over $700 from me with numerous threatening letters and collection calls (literally over 100 calls have been placed to me - every three days I get an aggressive call). I appealed to the insurance company and they paid several hundred dollars. Has not stopped this office. If you use them, beware and call your insurance company BEFORE the visit to make sure it's fully covered. I have never in my life had this awful of an experience with a physician over a bill. The kids were in the office for no more than 35 mins. It's just unbelievable and has been so upsetting to be constantly harassed. This office has abusive billing practices. Dr. Lambert is AMAZING! She has been treating my oldest daughter since she was 2 years old. Dr. Lambert is professional, patient, knowledgeable, and attentive to the needs of her patients. The office staff is always kind and attentive. The office environment is child friendly and clean. There is an optical office within Dr. Lambert's office which is very convenient. Dr Lambert was courteous and thorough . We have been been coming to this office since 2012. We always dealt with Dr. Bloom, who normally sees my three kids on any given appointment day. Although their new office policy prohibits more than 2 children from one family on any given appointment unless the appointment is on the day both doctors are in the office. We love the new office tech, Natasha she was very warm and friendly with my girls. Also the receptionist or office Assistant who patiently helped my wife to get a new appointment for my son for next next year was awesome. Overall our experience was nothing short of our previous experience with Dr.Bloom. Dr Lambert was courteous and thorough . We have been been coming to this office since 2012. This place is great! A perfect child friendly, playful environment that takes the anxiety of any eye exam.

Great service, we really like Dr. Lambert, but her associate is also very good. Efficient office staff.

Dr. Amy Lambert is amazing! She makes you and your child comfortable. She’s gentle but effective I’m recommended treatment options for corrective eye vision. The office is completely kid friendly. Highly recommend.

We went right in upon arrival. The atmosphere was child friendly. There were plenty of toys and stuffed animals and my 17-month-old got comfortable pretty quickly. Dr. Lambert was very soft spoken and mellow. She was experienced in getting an otherwise cautious toddler to allow her to look at her eyes in several different capacities. While waiting for her eyes to dilate after the drops were placed, we were guided to a dimly late movie room where my daughter walked around and played until we were called back for the second half of the exam. I just went for my yearly eye exam. My Insurance pays 100% for regular eye exams. All other Ophthalmologists billed with exam codes that were covered (3 in the last 3 years). Associates for Ophthalmology has another code for new patients that is not covered as regular eye exam. Luckily (or really unluckily) I was over my deductible and it only cost me 34.53. There was also a charge for eye exam with photos which I have never had before. My free exam would have costed me over 200, unadjusted 400

Dr. Lambert is phenomenal to say the least. Aside from being a great doctor she adds a personal touch when treating her patients. A doctor this dedicated to helping her patient's is such a rarity now a days. She and her staff (Marty) went above and beyond to make sure our son received the proper care. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!

Always go to an optometrist.an ophthalmologist is not able to diagnose vision issues beyond20/20.i was on a lost trail for a long time.
