Dr. Ami P. Vaidya

My mom was referred to Dr. Vaidya for lower abdominal pain. Dr. Vaidya was rude, dismissive, and insensitive. She suggested taking out my mom’s ovaries and fallopian tubes. Thank goodness we got another opinion. Turns out it was a hernia. This doctor shouldn’t be allowed to treat animals, let alone humans. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor. You’re worth finding someone competent with a good bedside manner.

Dr. Vaidya was phenomenal! She had such a comforting presence, and made me feel welcome. Her explanation of my options was very thorough, and she was super nice during the entire process. The rest of her staff was very helpful as well, making scheduling future appointments easy. I had a great experience!

Terrible bedside manner

I went to Dr. Vaidya for an open hysterectomy even though the odds were low that I had cancer because her training and skill made me confident she was the best possible surgeon if cancer was found during the surgery. My surgery ended up being more complicated than expected and I was very glad I had chosen Dr. Vaidya to perform it. Anyone who complains about a busy surgeon's bedside manner is not focused on what is most important - surgical skill - but I found Dr. Vaidya to be warm, compassionate and good at explaining things.

I met with Dr. Ami Vaidya twice and I don't want to come back again any day soon. She was rude, ignorant, and dishonest with me, never bothered to discuss my personal case, findings and some upgraded test results. I consider our conversations with her as a highly stressful and even harassing experience. I don't want anyone experience the same attitude, approach to ' cure' their patients and her 'treatment' as I had. Regardless of her education I don't believe she is a good doctor but exactly the opposite. My insurance coverage is all they are looking for, not the true cure, personalized treatment or an accurate diagnosis. What a shame!

I had a consultation with Dr. Vaidya and I received a lot of attitude from her as soon as she walked into the room, she acted as if she was upset because i didn’t have anything serious, as if I wasted her time. I was completely uncomfortable and I wouldn’t want anyone to feel as low as she made me feel. To end on a positive note the rest of the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to.

Dr Vaidya is a wonderfully skilled physician who performed a laparascopic hysterectomy for my mother who was diagnosed with uterine cancer. At 72 years old, my mother not only did wonderfully well post op but also had no surgical complications or pain. Although my mother was originally scheduled to have her surgery in CT, upon speaking to Dr Vaidya she felt confident enough to say she only wanted her to do the surgery which turned out to be the best decision. We are so happy to have had her surgery at HUMC with Dr Vaidya at the helm of her care.

She's the first doctor I met that really embodied knowledge, humility and honesty. She was very straight forward honest and caring. She didn't over promise or under deliver. If you want real genuine advice and a real doctor not a business person under a doctors jacket, she's the go to boss lady. Passion for medicine and healing of patients before $ and fame. There are still some out there. Also, her staff AMAZING. Stay Real Dr. Vaidya ~

Dr. Vaidya is an angel on earth, she saved my wife live and thank to her my wife had survived a stage 4 ovarian cancer. Many doctor did not want to have surgery on my wife, Dr. Vaidya told me how difficult the surgery will be and all that could happen. I highly recommend her.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Vaidya today, and I felt that she was very rude and condescending. She also barely made eye contact with me, either looking at the wall while she was talking, or turning her back. I felt very uncomfortable with her. Her staff however was very nice.

Brilliant. Very personable. Listens actively. Makes recommendations but respects the opinions of other doctors as well as the patient. Ask her to explain a "gene variant" to you. It's genius. Even other doctors are impressed when I tell them how she explained it. Inspires confidence. Very skilled. Even has a sense of humor. Grateful to be one of her patients.
