Dr Guth was the only one that was so compassion and made my mind feel at ease …. Within less than 2 weeks I had surgery … Her staff and everyone at NYU were on point …Thank you Dr Guth for having a heart of gold and taking good care of me … You’re the best …

This is the first review I have written in my life. I don't have words to describe how Dr. Amber Guth is. When I sow her first time I felt like I know her all my life. Words cannot describe how genuine this women is. To call her a doctor would minimize the degree of love and care this women showed to me. I felt like I was the first and last patient with Dr. Guth. This is the first review I have written in my life, but I think this is worth sharing to prevent anyone who may be similarly situated from wasting their time, effort and emotional well-being, as you may already be stressed and worried. In my opinion, if you do not already have a cancer diagnosis, do not waste your time calling Dr. Guth for an appointment. Her website needs the following disclaimer: “I only see patients who are 100% certain they have cancer.” If you fall into any other bucket, don’t waste another moment of your time. Details of my experience are as follows: Dr. Guth was referred to me as an excellent breast specialist. However, when I called her office to schedule an appointment, I was told Dr. Guth will not schedule a consultation appointment until she sees your medical records for the last 3 years. STOP, one moment, please remember at this point you do not have a doctor-patient relationship with Dr. Guth and, most importantly, you do not even know if she will see you after obtaining the last 3 years of your medical records. Isn’t that a bit concerning? Or worse, isn’t that unethical? It was concerning to me, but I was truly worried about my health and wanted to get to the root of the issue. Good or bad. So I faxed over my records and waited for the call to see if I was worthy of seeing her. About a week after sending the records, a woman who identified herself as Dr. Guth’s assistant called to inform me of Dr. Guth’s next available appointment and that I needed to bring the disc with images of all my radiology reports. Great. It seemed, at the time, I was worthy to be seen by Dr. Guth, and I was just glad I passed whatever test she had imposed for setting up an appointment to see her. On the day of my appointment, I checked-in with the receptionist and began filling out some registration forms, but immediately noticed that another doctor was listed on my appointment. When I inquired to confirm I would be seeing Dr. Guth, the receptionist told me “no, your appointment is with Dr. Guth’s colleague.” Wait, what? I was never given a choice, I was just assigned to Dr. Guth’s colleague. Then to add insult to injury, the assistant explained, “I am sorry, Dr. Guth ONLY sees cancer patients. She looked at your records and decided her colleague would be best to see you.” Where is the transparency? Where was the communication when the appointment was scheduled? Not only do you have to go through this Dr. Guth’s anonymous test before you get an appointment, you are also handed off without knowledge to whomever she deems worthy of seeing you. I was so angry at this treatment that eventually, the practice manager somehow, miraculously, was able to fit me to see Dr. Guth that day, but I was beyond angry that a practice that handles patients who are concerned about cancer or are going through cancer would do this. My experience with Dr. Guth was pleasant, however, I don’t believe I got the best guidance, and I think her lack of guidance may be attributed to whole fiasco that unraveled with seeing her. My wife absolutely loves dr. Guth. She is very knowledgeable and attentive. If dr. Guth sees a real or a perceived problem, she doesn’t procrastinate and schedules a test or a follow up right away. You don’t have to wait weeks and worry. We would not hesitate to recommend dr Guth to anyone.

I have never met a more compassionate, caring and skilled provider in my life. She is available via phone and email and responds quickly. 5 stars is not enough!

Dr. Guth is my sister's surgery oncologist, she performed my sister's mastectomy. There are no words to describe Dr. Guth's compassionate, experience, and the way she cared for my sister. Having breast cancer is a very frightening experience, Dr. Guth helped us with the fear. In addition, her staff, every single one of them were as pleasant, compassionate and extremely helpful in answering all our questions pre and post surgery. Thank you for everything Dr. Guth.

I was diagnosed as BRCA1 and found Dr. Guth on NYU's list of cancer doctors. She immediately prescribed MRI, Sonogram, Mammogram. Fortunately everything came out 'clean.' Even though she is a surgeon, she did not try to 'sell' any kind of surgery. I did my own research and decided a few months later that a prophylactic mastectomy was the best way to go. In the event that you need a cancer diagnosis or treatment, you cannot do better than Dr. Guth and her wonderful staff.

I've had outpatient surgery performed by Dr. Guth twice in the last 8 years. Her surgical skills are excellent and her bedside manner is fantastic. She's that rare breed of physician who is both a straight shooter and compassionate. I highly recommend her! The staff at NYU Hospital and at Dr. Guth's practice are also very professional, efficient and friendly.

Dr Guth is a doctor that speaks to you from her heart about your condition to help keep you calm and focused She explains everything to you in a hopeful way thAt everything is going to be just fine! I recommend her as a doctor and surgeon. And I wAs treated like a queen in nyu when I had my surgery last week. Great doctor. Great hospital.
