They are very inconsistent with their scheduling. Hours shown in office are different from the hours shown online. I came in for allergy shots according to their schedule and turns out they were closed (happened three times already). Their receptionist over the phone also did not seem to know their own schedule and gave me the wrong hours on multiple occasions. If the office is closed on a day it’s supposed to be open, they do not inform or post any updates on their website or Google and just expect their patients to know. Dr. Alexis is an amazing doctor. I've been seeing her for sometime now she is extremely kind, caring and professional. She actively listens, asks questions, and provided in detail my condition the treatments and reassurance on any issues I may have. I have been a patient of Dr Alexis since 2014. Dr. Alexis is incredible. Not only has she taken great care of me and my health, but also she is lovely to speak with at every appointment. She shows the upmost professionalism. She always explains everything to me in a very clear manner. She is so kind and friendly. My experience with her as her patient has been wonderful! Dr Alexis is a fabulous doctor. She is very caring and takes her time going into detail when answering any questions or concerns you may have during your visit. Furthermore ,she also has excellent bedside manner, and always runs on time for her appointments. I called the office several times and left several voice mails heard back after many attempts to contact Dr. Alexis and was told I could not be accommodated. Very disappointed.

Dr. Alexis is a great doctor. I have a lot of allergies and she took the time to explain each one to me and how to go about treating them. She had great bedside manner and was extremely patient. Dr. Alexis is extremely intelligent and I would recommend her to others.

I have been going to Dr. Alexis for several years now, she is wonderful. I have had asthma since I was a teenager. She has helped me navigate the changes that my asthma and allergies have gone through effectively, to the point that I have very little maintenance now. She stays on top of the latest research so she was able to offer me a treatment for my dust allergy, which had shown much success in Europe, but had only just arrived in the US. She is our family allergist. She came highly recommended from our pediatrician and she did not disappoint. My 5 year old was enchanted. Not only did she teach us everything we need to know about taking care of her skin, but she also educated us about all of her options for her food allergies. Dr. Alexis is an amazing doctor! She has been so helpful to me in figuring out my late onset of allergies and asthma. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend her to anyone who has any allergy issues. I am really glad I found such a great doctor.

I'm still upset about my experience several years ago. The office said she could do dermatology. She misdiagnosed me (the next derm I saw diagnosed immediately as it was pretty basic) and gave me an allergy test I did not ask for that was extremely expensive (nearly 1k) and I wasn't close to hitting my deductible so I got a huge bill. She was nice enough but it felt like she just ran a scratch test to make money. I'm still upset about my experience several years ago. The office said she could do dermatology. Went to see Alexis Ama for my son since she had a good overall rating. Bad idea. We expressed concerns for my son since he was exhibiting different allergy symptoms. She only skin tested him for different kinds of pollen. I expressed more concern on food because most days we stay indoors and he still gets reactions. She didn’t want to test for food, for whatever reason. She only wanted to test for salmon because he has vomited on 3 separate occasions before we cut off salmon for good. I mentioned peanuts because it has given him hives before, and she didn’t want to test him. I went to a new pediatrician and expressed my concerns. He gladly did a full panel allergy blood test, environmental and food. Turns out he’s very highly allergic to apple and peanut, along with many other foods and even longer list of environmental. He was given an epipen, etc. I just find it crazy how an allergist, someone who specializes in allergies, didn’t do this in the first place. My pediatrician was appalled at her actions himself. He kept asking, “Who is she? What’s her name?” Etc. She doesn’t seem too educated or concerned for her patients. I’d give 0 stars if I could. I took my 9 year old son to see Dr. Alexis for a 2nd opinion because during a routine allergy visit, my son was told he was allergic to hazelnuts and now needed an eppipen at all times.. From the moment you meet her, you know that you are in good hands. My son usually has so much anxiety when he needs to go to any doctor but Dr. Alexis was so good with him that he never felt nervous at any point. . We went in for a food challenge for hazelnuts (which was nerve racking for me too) and she made the entire process easy and stress free. In fact, after our visit, he said 'that is a really nice doctor!!" Her knowledge and demeanor are amazing and I 10000% recommend her to anyone. So glad that I found her! Very bad doctor. The kind of doctor that is in the rush and not spending time with the patient. They made a test, and we found out that our 3-year-old kid has a nut allergy, so what she did is gave us a bunch on brochures and told us to go home and process it, then if we have any questions to call her. I told her I have questions now, and she said I need to go home now. She has other patients waiting. What a joke. Don't book too many patients if you can't spend any time with them. Shame!! My daughter was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at 9 months, and I was devastated. Dr. Alexis was wonderful during our initial diagnosis and follow up visits. She was patient, kind, understanding, and empathetic. She took the time to explain to me what it looked like to live with an allergy, an allergy action plan, how to keep my daughter safe, and she throughly went over how to use the epi pen. She even followed up with me that evening to check in to see how I was processing the information. Dr. Alexis has always been incredibly responsive to any and all questions I had (and I had a ton). I started seeing Dr. Alexis about seven years ago for my food and environmental allergies. I can only recall one instance where my wait upon arrival was longer than it took to fill out forms, and that was less than a 5-minute wait. Her staff has always been polite, professional and organized (which is certainly not something to take for granted with any doctor’s office). Dr. Alexis has an excellent bedside manner, is a great listener and has made adjustments to tailor my care based on my lifestyle needs on more than one occasion. I’ve always been able to book an appointment with relatively little lead-time and her office location is very convenient for anyone who commutes to, or has meetings in, midtown.
