My experience with Dr. Williams and her staff has been stressful. Due to multiple surgeries and coping with pain (without pain meds...I'm off all of them), I have anxiety for which I take medication. Every month when asking for a refill of my RX, her staff would lecture me on the dangers of the medication, which is the least dangerous anxiety medication as long as it is not abused which I clearly never did. For the most part, my exchanges with the staff have been pleasant, but they, nor Dr. Williams, like to be questioned. I am well informed, educated, and pro-active with my medical care. When I questioned the staff, I went out of my way empathize with their position knowing their lecturing is part of the office protocol set forth by Dr. Williams. When I asked for a refill this month (November 2021), the nurse informed me that Dr. Williams will require an appointment in order to refill the RX because she hadn't seen me for a few months, and she would call me back to schedule. When she called me back, she informed me that Dr. Williams not only requires an appointment to refill the RX, but a full physical and full blood work to be completed without anything regarding my health that indicated these services were necessary. I would, essentially, have to go in debt to get my anxiety medication refilled. The nurse said that it had been a year since the doctor saw me which is not true. I had at least 1 telehealth visit with he and I informed her staff that I has visited Urgent Care 1 or 2 times. Again, the anxiety medication I take is not dangerous if it's not abused, but it IS very dangerous to suddenly stop taking it...you must wean off this medication. It is outright vicious for a doctor to suddenly cut-off a patient from this medication. I left an unhappy message when I called back asking Dr. Williams to call me, but said nothing that would be considered "abusive." About a week later, I received a letter from Dr. Williams informing me that she will no longer be my doctor me because I was "abusive to her staff" and that she "informed my pharmacy" of my abusive behavior. She wrote that she would see me within 30-45 days upon receipt of her letter to give me time to find a new provider. I left 3 messages at her office to schedule an appointment with no response. I can only conclude that she had no intention of scheduling me, is purely economically motivated, and doesn't care about me at all. She has made errors calling in my anxiety prescription (wrong strength), and has charged my insurance fees for services, such as “Smoking Counseling,” that I never received. She dropped me during a pandemic and, most importantly, without medication for my anxiety. Does this sound like a good doctor to you? Does this sound like she cares about her patients? Doctors like her are part of the problem with healthcare in this country, not the solution.
