Dr. Allen S. Burris

Dr. Burris is the most learned and special doctor I've known. I've been seeing him since 2009. He has a keen sense of humor and extremely knowledgeable. His staff and all of the people at both offices are professional, kind, and caring not to mention, truly considerate.

Dr. Burris doesn't listen & is very opinionated. He can be confrontational & seems rather narcissistic with lack of respect for the patient.

It’s really sad that staff can be so rude! I called to make a new patient appointment for my Fibroids. I wanted to get a second opinion on whether to have surgery or not since I have been seen by a OBGYN. I thought it would best to see a specialist. I told the coordinator that I did have pre diabetes and thyroid issues in which my thyroid numbers are in normal range but a little on the low side so the doctor put me on medication for that. Brittney the patient coordinator was VERY RUDE and her response to me telling her that my main focus was the fibroids was “well you have pre diabetes and Dr. Burris doesn’t see new patients with diabetes, even though you want to be seen for fibroids he would still have to treat you for diabetes”. It’s just sad trying to seek help for your health, you have go through so much and have so many roadblocks when these are people that are suppose to help you! He’s an exceptional doctor. Very polite and kind, and I would recommend him to friends and family or strangers. I trust him completely to meet my health needs. I have been going to him at least thirty some years, and I have yet to be disappointed. God bless Dr. Burris.

Dr. Burris is very attentive to my situation and offers the best advice to my problems. He is extremely knowledgeable and is able to talk to you using non medical terms that are easily understandable. He and all of his staff are very friendly and are willing to assist you with your problem as if you are the only one in the office.

Dr. Burris is by far the most personable endocrinologist I have ever seen. He was the first doctor to find that I had Hashimoto's, and I am thankful to have a little more understanding of how this is affecting my system. I have always felt like he took the time needed to explain everything, and has even been accessible quickly via the patient portal. I am sad that I can no longer keep him as my doctor since we moved out of state, but felt it was important to let others know the value he adds as a kind, knowledgeable, thorough doctor.

Dr Burris is the most compassionate, capable doctor I've ever received care from. I've recommended him to a friend in need of an endocrinologist and she told me that he saw how much pain she was in and put rushes on her labs in order to be able to get her the medication she needed faster. Thats the kind of doctor he is. He genuinely cares for his patients. Despite us meeting very infrequently, he can look at me and tell how my thyroid is working and what I need. I couldn't recommend him more. He exemplifies what every doctor should strive to be.

Dr. Burris has been my diabetic doctor for over 10 years and is the best. When I have to deal with todays health services and doctors it can be painful to say the least...except for Doctor Burris and his staff. He is always to the point and very helpful. I can go on and on with how great a doctor he is, and has been. Thank You Dr. Burris !!

I went to see Dr. Burris for rapid changes in my body (weight gain, hair growth, etc). Given a family history of thyroid problems and brain tumors, I felt that I was in good hands. Nevertheless, instead of listening to my concerns, Dr. Burris instead made downright inappropriate comments about my family members' appearances and told me that I simply wasn't sleeping enough. Now that I am seeing other providers, my bloodwork shows that all of my hormones (testosterone, prolactin, progesterone, FSH, LH, etc) are all out of balance. Dr. Burris has treated my mother for over 25+ years. I try to attend most appointments with her. I am so taken away with his awesome bedside manner. He listens, not many doctors do this. He gives her clear and direct instruction. He takes his time. Dr. Burris, you are one FANTASTIC physician. I am now referring my husband to you for treatment of his diabetes. Dr. Burris is genuine and honest. He stays current with technology and is always reachable via the patient portal. He shows true concern for my health and well-being, even when that means being honest with me about what I'm doing wrong. His support is tremendously appreciated.

He's been my Dr for most of my transition. He's a great man and I'm happy he's my Dr. He told me he's never seen anyone change as much as I have and uses me as an example to all his tg patients.

This man really made me feel very comfortable. He is extremely personable and took the time to explain everything to me. Coming from a patient with “white coat syndrome” he immediately put me at ease, made me comfortable and really is just a down to earth guy. Can’t thank him enough for my experience today or praise him enough.
