This office is amazing ! The administrative team at the reception desk are warm and professional, and DR. ALISON GRUEN and her medical Assistant SHIRA are outstanding ! Brilliant, compassionate, fully engaged and top shelf educated ( YALE , I asked ????) my contact dermatitis is gone today with the RIGHT cream ! I will be back for a lot more ! Thank you

I had a FANTASTIC first appointment with Dr. Gruen. Not only was she able to give me context on my concerns, she also took one look at another spot I had had for over 10 years and told me there is a medication to treat it! Every other doctor I had gone to ignored my concerns and referred to the issue as non harmful and therefore not requiring treatment. If you are a brown person like myself, I HIGHLY reccomend her. She has done extensive study on patients of color, and knows the skin conditions that affect them more than the white population. On top of her knowledge, she has fantastic bedside manners, made me feel like I was just talking to a friend. She is bubbly, patient, and never makes you feel rushed out. I had a FANTASTIC first appointment with Dr. Gruen. Not only was she able to give me context on my concerns, she also took one look at another spot I had had for over 10 years and told me there is a medication to treat it! Amazing, the best dermatologist in NYC. Excellent communication and solution oriented, she is a wise diagnostician, and asks all the important questions about personal health to ascertain the best suggestions for keeping your skin looking and feeling it's best. Her advice for aging skin is priceless, specialist in rashes, and all skin conditions. Responsible and caring, brilliant and friendly. I recommend her to all my friends. The office is clean and inviting.

I've been to several top dermatologists in NYC but Dr. Gruen is #1. She's thoughtful, honest and always listens. Her staff is top notch and flexible with appointments which is rare in my experience. So I'd highly recommend Dr. Gruen to prospective patients!

Unprofessional and rude. I arrived early, got checked in and was shown to the waiting room. The entire time I was in there, I could hear a staff member having a loud personal conversation as the office is very small. I assumed this was someone on their break but after 30 minutes, I began to wonder if this was Dr. Gruen. I went to the front desk to ask how much longer and was told Dr. Gruen was in a "meeting". I asked if the woman on the phone was the doctor and if that was her meeting and they said yes. Asked for a refund and walked out. Unbelievable to waste a patient's time like that while you chat on the phone. Even if it was a meeting, why schedule it for the same time as my appointment? Alison is intelligent, professional, caring, personable, and pragmatic in dealing with your dermatology issues. The customer experience is not a buzzword for Alison, she executes against it. I highly recommend her!! Her high energy, can do attitude is refreshing, and genuine.

I saw Dr. Gruen at her Greenwich Village location. She’s knowledgeable, smart and friendly and has a great bedside manner. She took a conservative approach in my diagnosis, which saved me from a biopsy and scar. She even called my father, a retired dermatologist, to discuss the diagnosis (and he said she sounded great). She is the BEST

Friendly, kind & professional. After moving out of the city, Dr Gruen is the only doctor I still go into the city to see.

Very warm MD sweet and I feel as safe as I can since 7 yrs ago I was violated at Dr Andrew Fagelman seeing a dermatologist Dr Vine! You are safe at Dr Bobby Bukka's and Dr Gruen is caring. The staff are all kind and professional at Dr Bukka's office.

Dr. Gruen was so helpful and made me feel extremely comfortable. She went above and beyond in explaining treatment options and personally reached out to a colleague who could offer additional services.

First time I saw Dr Gruen at Dr Bob Buka's office really like her she was very gentle and solved a small issue that a couple of other doctors had failed before. However when I visited for an important issue regarding an infection underarm she failed. She overlooked at the problem. Didn't prescribe antibiotics and I ended up in ER. I will never see her again. She is not experienced, even though she is not that young.

Dr. Gruen has been a lifesaver. I can't tell you the level of discomfort I was in. She worked with me for a good long time to figure out the issue and get it solved. Not to mention it's just a genuine pleasure to see her every couple months. She is always has a smile on her face and good for a laugh. I recommend her to everyone I know.

Dr Gruen is the best. Cleared my acne when I was high school even tho I hated the monthly blood tests.

I never write reviews but Dr Gruen is a dermatologist fairy godmother. I have had acne prone skin my whole life. Dr. Gruen was the first dermatologist that I've met who was able to prescribe medications that actually worked with my skin. Thanks to Dr. Gruen I have clear skin. She understands every patient is different and takes the time to tailor a plan to each patient. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Gruen and now I refer her to everyone when I am asked about my skin regime.

I went to Dr. Gruen with hair problems. She was very ironic and not professional. Instead of helping me, she told me that, hopefully I will find a rich husband one day and he can pay for my hair transplantation. I should really give her 0 stars.

Back in 2003 I saw Dr. Gruen for my skin problems. She helped me with my skin through high school and with out her expertise my skin would have been a mess. I specifically got on here just to review her cause she's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
