Dr. Ali Safdar

He just sits there and writes things down. Never talks. Never listens. Never even changes my meds. Just says to talk to my therapist. Terrible! I've seen him for six months now & he's never helped.

Always on time! Good doctor! Listens. Has a good sense of humor.

Getting meds for treatment is fine. The appointment times i wrote in my schedule book, since the pandemic, have been switched on me twice (time and day of) and not let me knowit was, till I called. Reception is not good. Why every 3 months when I feel I am stable on my med? Money. You would think he would get it that I have and have had Asperger's by now. I have been treated by Dr. Safdar for more than 10 years and he has been excellent. I see him at Associates For Behavioral Health. The staff there is very effective. The medication prescribed has been spot on. If I have a question Dr Safdar answers it. To clarify some posts the Abbe Center is nonprofit organization. Contact the Abbe Center if you don't have insurance or have a limited income. I have been treated by Dr. Safdar for more than 10 years and he has been excellent. Dr. Safdar is the best psychiatrist I have worked with in the 37 years I’ve been treated for bi-polar disease. He is easy to understand, provides options, and both listens to me and cares about my health. And his sense of humor is a big. Plus!

Its a messed up place to be. Dr Safdar doesnt explain things. He doesnt talk to patients or clients as you would expect a dr giving meds should always do. It's even worse now the he prescribes meds based off federal guidelines and doesnt really care about the person itself. Theres no compassion from him and shows very little interest in his patients. The Abbe Center is a place that shoves people in and out of appointments so they can maximize profits to help the most people they can in as little time as you can. I would rate him as a C-. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I've been coming here for 9 months and it's been problem after problem. Staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. Save yourself the stress and DO NOT GO HERE. Worst place I have ever been to by far.

Dr Safdar does not listen to what you have to say during appts. I have been seeing him for several years. My appts amount to him refilling my meds and nothing else. I recommend you stay far away from him and his nurse. I was talked down to by his nurse and treated very rudely.

Dr Safdar is not difficult to understand and speaks English very fluently. He is warm and knowledgeable.

Dr. Safdar is wonderful! I love that he gives you options on medications and really WANTS to know HOW you are doing. I've been a patient for 10+ years, will not change.

Dr.safdar can't speak English very well and is hard to understand. He also tells you one thing and tells everyone else some else. He's hard to get to talk and explain things also. Steer clear of Dr. Safdar.

I have been going to this place for about 10 yrs. Here are some hints from experience that you may find helpful. If I have a severe issue, I go to the Emergency Room where I can be treated fast. If I have questions that develop between visits, I can leave them with the receptionist via telephone. I had an issue with my medications. For whatever reason (and it is probably good one), the office does not take computer generated emails regarding meds, only hard copy faxes on the fax machine. It is difficult to get this through my drugstore pharmacy techs heads. So now I call them and tell them the situation before I expect my order to be filled. If I need a refill, I make sure to request it on Monday or Tuesday if possible through my pharmacy. I know what my dr's. hrs are because I write them down. My meds won't be refilled if he is not there. Every time I have a drs. appt. it is on time and he always asks if I need a refill. My dr. has been wonderful as far as discussing how to manage symptoms. He is not my psychologist, he manages my medications so that I can function. He does a shorter follow up if my dosages are changed or the medication needs to be changed. My insurance hasn't always covered all my visits, so I pay at the time of treatment if that happens. I don't like bills and I know ahead of time what the cost is going to be. I hope this helps. I recommend Dr. Safdar wholeheartedly. I have been going to this place for about 10 yrs. He doesn't spend any time with you and is always too scared to prescribe. He has a huge reputation for being like that. Even the doctor's at the hospitals here in town will say that. Avoid this doctor at all costs if you can!
