Alfred Y Gordon

First, I think Dr. Gordon is great. However, his staff and system are unbelievably unreliable and lie continuously about simple details of getting things straight. It took over a month to get the first prescription right then days upon days to get subsequent prescriptions right and multiple visits. (still not done) They tell me " we sent it in to your pharmacy" It never shows. I have no faith at all in anything they say and feel lucky to ever get one right. Call backs are almost non-existent and after 5 - 10 attempts with lie after lie about getting things done, IT NEVER HAPPENS without unbelievable efforts on my part and none on theirs. Dr. Gordon, your people make you look bad indeed and I will reluctantly have to seek better professional doctoring elsewhere. You are a great guy and I enjoy our visits, but doing business is too hard.

Fantastic. He has been my doctor for decades. I recommended him to my entire extended family. He is careful, caring, thoughtful, and takes the time to listen to you. I could not ask for a better physician. I would give him more stars if I could.

Love Dr. Gordon! He’s been very helpful with making sure i’m getting the correct medication. He takes the time to talk to me and doesn’t rush.

Dr. Gordon is an absolutely remarkable person and a fantastic physician. It's VERY hard for me to pick a doctor. They can't be too young, they definitely can't be too old. And more than anything, they can't rush me out the door. You know the types, they come into the room, already reading your chart and then ask you a pointed question that really asks "why are you here and make it quick". To which I have the response that everyone has, I completely blank and start to ramble. So you can imagine how devastated I was when my current doctor (Dr. James Salmon, absolutely fantastic) went MIA and I had to find another. My fiance had been going to Dr. Gordon for years and years, and I had actually gone to him once as well as attended many of the appointments that my beau had scheduled as moral support. I just wasn't willing to leave Dr. Salmon. But then he left me (and I shant take it personally). So I set up an appointment. And it couldn't have gone better. Although it was a well-check appointment, he took a remarkable amount of time with me. He sat, asked me questions, and actually listened. As in, leaning forward, responding to what I said, listening to my medical past (which is unbelievably extensive. It's a mess), and offering ways to help. I felt cared for and appreciated. I felt like this person really sees me more than an insurance claim. He didn't rush me out the door and made sure that I asked all the questions I had and that he answered all of those same questions. I couldn't recommend Dr. Al Gordon enough. Oh, let me add that his office threw me at first. It's in Fayetteville in a strip mall and I'll admit my radar went off. I was thinking, "ok, is this guy legit? This isn't even a successful and thriving strip mall!!!" But once inside my imagination changed. You see a glorious past that he has had with the Razorbacks and it's a pretty typical and standard doctor's office inside. But that doesn't matter. I love him so much I would risk a dark alley to see him. Don't get me wrong, I hope it doesn't come to that. So the next time you have a wellness check, a scratchy throat, a pain in your back, problem sleeping, you name, Dr. Gordon is going to be there waiting for you. Waiting to listen and waiting to help. I am a retired Navy pilot and currently employed with a major airline. My wife and I moved to Fayetteville less than a year ago. A fellow employee (pilot) who was born and raised in Fayetteville highly recommended Dr. Al Gordon. This review is my assessment of my fellow employee’s recommendation. Dr. Gordon is one of the best Private Care Physicians I’ve encountered. He is professional, personable and takes time to understand the situation before him before he acts. I feel very fortunate to have him as my health care provider. I’d also like to extend kudos to the office staff. They are very friendly, efficient and pleasurable to converse with. A fellow employee (pilot) who was born and raised in Fayetteville highly recommended Dr. Al Gordon. This review is my assessment of my fellow employee’s recommendation. Listens, friendly, easy to talk to, and shows concerns with whatever ails you. Fast on referrals to other specialists, if need be. Asset to the area.

I recently moved to northwest Arkansas after retiring from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. My family physician in Monticello highly recommended Dr. Gordon so I called recently for a check-up. I was told in no uncertain terms that because I was now on Medicare, they would NOT accept me as a patient. Apparently, if I still had my health insurance through the University of Arkansas, I would be welcomed. I was assured by the nurse/receptionist that I was not being penalized simply because I was on Medicare, but it certainly feels that way. Dr. Gordon takes to time to get to know you. He is one of the best family practice doctors I have seen in my 66 years of life. He is a good listener and will prescribe generics whenever possible to save you money.

Dr Gorden has been my doctor for maybe 25 years... Since i was about 1 year old. I used to think highly of him. Now, not so much. I would say his office is horrible the people are rude. The office manager is the worste of them all. I will never advise anyone to go there. You will never get your test results, you will get charged for tests you did not take, they will tell you that your all paid up then at the end of the year they will accuse you of not paying your bills. The office manager likes to yell at people who complain, they will call you and tell you to come take tests that your doctor did not talk to you about. One of the best. I'd still be using him if I lived in Northwest Arkansas.

I went to Doctor Gordon the entire time I lived in Fayetteville. I still will drive down there from Rogers if I have something larger than what a walk in clinic can handle.

Doc Gordon has cared for my family for the last 20 yrs. I couldn't be happier or more content with him and his staff taking care of us. Thanks Doc!

Excellent physician- caring, compassionate, knowledgeable. You won't find a better doctor. He has cared for me many years and I wouldn't want anyone else.

Been my family doctor since I was a teen absolutely love him & his staff. Very professional & not set on prescribing meds first thing! Absolutely love that!

Saw Gordon when my primary had no openings; had been to the ER, ENT doc,my doc and nurse due to weeks of excruciating headaches. He helped me with pain meds and referred me to a nuerologist. He was a breath of fresh air,down to earth,easy to talk to, explains things clearly. I was 100% at ease. He made me feel he genuinely cared, gave my 5 year old a fist bump and let him listen to his heart with his stethoscope, told me what a well behaved young man I had. Every doctor should have his demeanor.

Doc is great. His staff is terrible.

I just moved to the area and met with the doctor over a month ago and was supposed to get a referral for a neurologist. I still don't have a referral. My medicine runs out in 10 days. I left messages in MYMANA web portal with no response. I left voice messages but received no response and no action. I tried calling neurologists directly but they won't see me without a referral.

Amazing doctor, works at worst clinic in Fayetteville.

While having been a patient with Dr Gordon for many years, I really like him - however, the office/practice is ridiculous to deal with. Staff is unfriendly, and it is impossible to be able to communicate directly with him unless you schedule and pay for an appointment just to ask him a question.

He is respectful of parents making decision for their children and doesn't push an agenda like so many pediatric doctors do. Dr. Gordon is excellent with children. My son (age 8) describes him as fun. Office staff is overall okay. HIs nurse, Gail, is very nice and competent.
