Alena Ashenberg

Dr.Ashenberg has been my doctor practically since I was born. From my experience I can say that she is a great doctor who deeply cares for her patient’s well being. She’s always been kind to me and makes me feel comfortable when she has to ask possibly awkward questions for a checkup. My sister has also had this doctor for a long time and I can say that for the both of us, we enjoy going to the doctors because she make us feel welcomed. The staff are also very nice which made the experience even better.

Dr Ashenberg is an outstanding physician! She cared for my twins from the time they were born. They have aged out of her practice and I can say we are heartbroken to be leaving her. Through the years she demonstrated compassion, patience and expertise in her field. If you are looking for a pediatrician, I highly recommend Dr Alena Ashenberg.

Dr.Ashenberg and her team have been amazing to my family and I! I was Dr.Ashenberg’s patient as a child and I now take my two children to her. She has been the best — our visits are always great, she always calls back when we have after hour concerns, gives us great feedback, always answers our questions and always takes us in last minute for sick visits when we need it! Highly recommend!

don't even want to give them one star. I had been a patient for 20 years until it was time to switch practices, I can not even believe how the staff treats people. they lied to me continuously over an issue I was having, and were absolutely no help at all! I would not recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Ashenberg and everyone else at the practice are kind, polite, knowledgeable, and caring. She has been our family’s pediatrician since the birth of our daughter 4 years ago. We have never had a bad experience. The office is clean and quiet. Dr. Ashenberg has never recommended any unnecessary tests or treatment. Just a wonderful practice. Our appointments have always been caring, thorough and non-rushed. They've taken care of us parents almost as much as our son! As a healthcare worker myself, I have high standards and Dr. Ashenberg and Curran more than exceed them. I can't recommend them enough!

Our insurance changed and I was forced to find a new doctor for my children. I was mortified after a 2nd visit with this Doctor. She is RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and CONDESCENDING. We did not agree on something since the first visit. She continued to push. I told her to stop she was disrespecting my parenting. She then told my kids I was wrong. I had to literally stand up and say to my kids lets go this is not the right doctor for us. I wish I could give her zero stars. We have not been back. Dr. Ashenberg has been with our family for 18 years to my 3 children she is extremely kind and caring, We have a child with special needs and very unique conditions, she has worked with Children Hospital Boston to help us get the best care for her, without Dr.Ashenberg care my daughter would not be where she is today.

From the moment my partner and I stepped into Dr Ashenburg’s office, two months or less into the covid crisis, we felt immediately that we had found the right Doctor for our newborn. Dr. Ashenburg uses an abundance of cautionary steps to keep her patients safe and in a sterile environment when visiting with her. Her demeanor is warm, friendly, and positive but also ‘no-nonsense’, which we truly appreciate. She uses MyChart which holds all the information we could possibly need and also allows us to access her with questions and concerns directly via emails, to which she nearly immediately responds. Her staff are friendly and help remind you of your upcoming appointments in a timely manner. Dr. Ashenberg is a great pediatrician! We brought our first daughter to her when we moved to NH and now our second daughter goes to her. The office is so accommodating and will see you quickly if you think your child is sick. Highly recommend!

My family and I have had the great pleasure of experiencing pediatric care with Dr. Ashenberg for the past three years. When moving to the area from out-of-state I found it important to find a caring, attentive doctor who was also connected with Children’s Hospital and we found all of that and more. Dr. Ashenberg gives us her full attention and extended amount of time during visits (and is always able to accommodate our schedule). She calls us back after hours and on the weekends when we call with concerns. Dr. Ashenberg is kind, caring, and informative. We welcomed our second child during our time with her and she has been great through all of the newborn and infant care, even in a pandemic. Our family has been with Dr. Ashenberg since our oldest child was born nearly 20 years ago, and we cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience has been. Dr. Ashenberg and her staff are professional, patient, caring, and available whenever we need them. Dr. Ashenberg has helped us through all of the children's routine medical needs and has stepped up remarkably when we have had more significant needs. When our middle daughter was hospitalized at age two she was not only in constant contact with the hospital consulting with her team, but she also contacted us each day to offer support and comfort, going above and beyond as she always does. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable on her patients and pediatric development and care. Her affiliation with Boston Children’s Hospital has provided us with top notch care and resources. My three children have been cared for my Dr Ashenberg for over 14 years. While their medical needs have changed from infant to teens the high quality of care Dr Ashenberg and her staff provide never has. You are not a number there but an individual and Dr Ashenberg and her staff truly know their patients. Dr. Ashenberg is a tremendous advocate for her patients as well as I witnessed when my son needed specialist care. She has a very easy going presence and a warm demeanor. I’ve been taking my children here since my Son was younger and my Daughter was an infant. They’re now going on 10 and 6 years old. Dr. Ashenburg has always been so kind and welcoming to them. I have been taking my children to Dr. Alena Ashenberg for 27 years. She was originally at a practice in Chelmsford before joining the practice she now owns in Dracut. We followed her and stayed with her for some very key reasons. The first is that one of the key attributes I look for in a physician is that they are communicative. She dialogues with the parents and children and she has always worked with concerns that I have over new vaccines or new proposed standards. Equally important is knowledge. Not all physicians are good. Dr. Ashenberg maintains her edge by never becoming stale in her learning. The third prong on the fork of my evaluation is compassion. She’s very thorough and always going the extra mile to be sure that the kids are feeling better and on the road to recovery.

Dr Ashenberg is all about the child's health and educating the parent on healthier choices. I have a child that has ADD and instead of giving me a referral for someone else to treat my child, Dr Ashenberg treated him and kept an eye on all his developments. I have 3 kids and the fact that she knows who all my kids are is huge. A real doctor that cares about the well being of your child says more than anything. She is one amazing doctor. Her staff is excellent as well and very understanding.

I've been hesitant about switching doctors since my child has been with Dr. Ashenberg since birth, but after 6 years I've finally had enough. She's made multiple rude comments throughout the years and even went as far sharing her disapproval when my child's father and I separated. On our last visit she became very agitated and raised her voice after I disagreed with her,my child was in the room and was not only terrified, but in tears by the time we got to the car! The staff however is amazing.

Dr. Ashenberg has been taking care of my kids for their whole lives. She is so nice and always spends plenty of time with us and answers all my questions. When my youngest was born with a heart defect and needed open heart surgery at 3 months old, she drove into Boston Children's Hospital on New Years Eve (after work, on her own time) to visit us along with calling daily to check on him. He recently needed surgery again in June and she came to visit again. I am blown away with the helpfulness and kindness of the staff and nurses. i feel sad for the day when my kids will not need a pediatrician anymore. i feel she is not only my children's doctor but a family friend. Dr Ashenberg has been my pediatrician for my 4 daughters for many years. I couldn’t ask for a more kind and compassionate doctor. She goes out of her way to ensure your child receives whatever care is necessary and very often will call you at home the next day if your child is sick to make sure they are getting better. Her office staff are friendly and helpful and make your visit fun and stress free. She is a wonderful doctor and would highly recommend her practice to anyone.

I have had a great experience not only with Dr Ashenberg, but with the office staff as well. I have a newborn and whether it is a sick visit or standard newborn appointment, Dr. Ashenberg always spends ample time with me to explain everything,make sure I am comfortable, and give me the support I need. As a first time mom in my 30s, I am very nervous and they always address my concerns with compassion. I feel very safe and confident in her skills. I would recommend this office to all!

Dr. Ashenberg has been taking care of my kids for their whole lives. She is so nice and always spends plenty of time with us and answers all my questions. When my youngest was born with a heart defect and needed open heart surgery at 3 months old, she drove into Boston Children's Hospital on New Years Eve (after work, on her own time) to visit us along with calling daily to check on him. I am blown away with the helpfulness helpfulness and kindness of the staff and nurses.

I went to ashenberg as a child and she was always opinoinated and didn't want to put me on birth control when i turned 15 because "i was too young for birth control" she also refused to diagnose my younger brother with adhd because he was diagnosed with autism first. So we went to a psychologist and a couselor and he is now officially diagnosed. She cause alot of trouble for me and my family that we didnt want to go through. She was a great doctor at first. Been with my daughter since birth. She is very opinionated and rude and so is her office manager and nurses. The only nice person there is her receptionist. They do not have good people skills. I have switched after two years because of her rude comments. She always gets upset if I go to urgent care. Her exact words were"all my other patients call". I told her I didn't call cause they were closed and I was concerned and just went, then she just got mouthy. Let's just say there are plenty of other pedis that will respect your choice as a parent, which she doesn't. Long story short don't go here if you want respect. There also very slow too. Good luck!! Dr Ashenberg was my pediatrician until my daughter was four and my son was one. That was when we moved from. Massachusetts. Boy did we miss her. She was conscientious, caring, and an all around excellent pediatrician. My kids are 16 and 19 now and I have very fond memories of the Doctor who showed show much compassion for a crazy first time mother. My kids were lucky to have her for the short time they did. All three of my boys have been fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Ashenberg since they were young and I simply trust their care to her expertise, experience and judgement. My boys have all been comfortable with her and all of her staff and now that I have teen boys, I appreciate that they have a good rapport with her. And most importantly, when large medical concerns were before us, her calm demeanor and professional knowledge were a comfort.
