I have a very good experience with Dr. Albert Speech in 2014.

I think Dr speech is a wonderful doctor he put tubes in my child's ear when he was little he's a good man thank you Dr speech

Very unprofessional never talked to me and set across the hall from waiting room and talked to the nurse about what was going on with my ear.

Poor communication between office staff and patients. We were there for 2& 1/2 hours waiting and no one said they were having computer issues. Dr. Speach is rude, condescending attitude. He contradicts himself multiple times in the 10 minutes he was in the room. He mentions surgery and leaves the room then comes back in the room saying there is nothing he can do to help. I believe he went to check the insurance and found out my daughter has Medicaid and didn't like the amount he would get for the surgery. BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR. I am a former tobacco user burdened by hypochondriasis who developed acute unilateral swelling, pain, redness, and hardness near my left palatine tonsil. Ninety-percent convinced I would soon be told that I was a dead man walking who would first be sickened by radiotherapy and chemotherapy and then disfigured by surgery, Dr. Speach summarily went to work. Within minutes he told me that he suspected I had a peritonsillar abscess; the ER CT-scan prior to my visit with Dr. Speech had detected no abscess and my PCP had said I had drainage from allergies. Dr. Speach, in his not-offensive-whatsoever business-only manner then numbed me, cut me, drained a total of about 5 ccs of putrefied sewage from above my tonsil, told me I didn’t have cancer, told me to gargle with salt water, and said he’d see me in 1.5 weeks for follow-up. Dr. Speach is a god, and that is a review from an atheist who would’ve made Freud seem as if he were on the fence about faith. Chin up, King of the Neurotics, PhD

8 years of child suffering with 20+ ear infections & 4 sets of ear tubes before we found dr speach. trusted his decision that only removing adenoids and not tonsils would solve the ear infections and he was exactly right! 5 years later and not one more ear infection!!!

I had my tonsils removed by Dr. Speach and I can not say enough good things about him and the whole team and mercy medical pavilion! Everyone there was so kind and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the procedure. If you are looking for a ear nose and throat doctor in the area I would 100% recommend Dr. Speach!

Dr Speech, staff, audiologist, everyone has helped so much in my care and rehab. Being a cancer patient with MS and myasthenia, I am complex care. The staff here is incredible, knowledgeable, tactful, professional, and caring. Sorry it took me so long to post a review. ....r-

Worst experience of my 49 year life. At my first visit, Dr. Speech wrote a diagnosis on an index card and told me to "Google it" for a low sodium diet recommendation. At the follow up appointment, I explained that I was experiencing hives after taking the medication he prescribed. He explained that there were alternatives since I was allergic to sulfa drugs but that he "wasn't smart enough" to prescribe one so he would send a note to my primary physician. He told me to come back in three months for a follow up...I declined. Worst experience of my 49 year life. This review is NOT about Dr. Speach as a doctor, I think he is a wonderful doctor. He put tubes in my grandson's ears and was exceptional with his care. Unfortunately though he was due for his 6 month check up, I called to reschedule and find out by a message on the answering machine that he has permanently closed his practice! No phone call, no letter, no nothing! No explanation at all, just that your records are at Dr. Lang's office. Receptionist on the phone was rude and unwilling to help. Won't be going there!

My mother was a patient of his and he removed polyps from her vocal cords. He is rude, abrupt and dismissive. He spoke to her as if she were a child. It became very hard for me to control myself during this horrible display. He wouldn't even explain the procedure, risks, recovery time but yet we were expected to sign a release saying we had been informed. Some people just shouldn't work in healthcare. I am a nurse and was appalled at the poor infection control practices of Dr. Speech. I could see that the sink in my exam room had not been used - dry, no used paper towels. He rapidly went from spraying the throat of a sick and coughing child in the next room to me to spray my throat and then back and forth between the two of us doing procedures. He ridiculed my suggestion that he wash his hands between patients. He was brusk, did not ask any questions about my complaint, ordered 2 medications with no instruction about their use/ side effects or what to do if they did not work. The doctor was rude, dismissive, and just plain mean. The rest of the staff that I interacted with were nice, pleasant, and helpful. The doctor spent only about 5 minutes with me and had a personality akin to Judge Judy. In the end he didn't seem to believe me and I will do my best to never go see him again. Honest, caring, professional and thorough. I have recommended Dr. Speach to many of my friends and neighbors. I have received only quality care from Dr. Speach and his entire staff.

Love this small office and the personable attention patients receive. Dr. Speach is great with children and his staff is very helpful. They also have great toys for the kids to play with!

My experience with Albert and Karen has been fantastic. I spent 3 months with the largest ENT office in Lexington trying to take care of a hearing issue. Dr. Speach found and corrected it in one visit. When I was ready for hearing aids, I called his office and was directed to Karen. She is delightful. This office was recommended to me by a satisfied friend and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. My experience with Albert and Karen has been fantastic. Dr speech is an excellent doctor he's good with the children he's very concerned about them he calls every night to check on them he is an excellent doctor. Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man is one of his anesthesiologist yes that's what he told my grandson. And I don't know anybody that loves children more. Okay I know he gets paid a lot he's a good doctor and his crew are good at what they do they deserve what they make. They care about their patients no matter how big or how small. We love Doctor Speach! Cares a lot about his patients. We have had tubes put in or Daughters ears twice very pleasant experience both times. The doctor calls around 8:00 pm both times to check on his patients! Who does that anymore! I’m a small business owner myself and I know when someone takes pride in what they do! Excellent doctor! He even found my thyroid cancer in my first visit (well, suspected and sent me for more testing before saying that).when other providers failed to do so, even after multiple visits. Dr. Speach and the office staff are all very friendly and it's so easy and quick to get an appointment.

We have had tubes put in our daughters ears twice both times very pleasant experience! Highly recommend this doctor! Even calls at 8pm at night to check on his patients!

Dr. Speech was amazing. We went to him regarding getting some vocal cord polyps removed after another doctor suggested speech therapy and refused to remove them until at least December, even though they were affecting my voice quality. Dr. Speech got me into his office and surgery quick and even called to check on me after the surgery. He is super knowledgeable about what he does and is a wonderful doctor! Thanks so much Dr. Speach. I would definitely go back with any other ENT problems I had.

Son was referred by his primary Dr to see Dr. Speach. The appointment was efficient and our options were explained. We opted to having his tonsils and adenoids removed. Dr. Speach kept us involved every step of the process. Afterwards he personally contacted us every few nights checking on my son. It was very refreshing to receive those calls. Son had a tonsillectomy and adenoids removed. Dr. Speach kept us informed every step of the way. Easy to speak with and understand. He repeatedly checked on my son every few days via telephone.

His front office team is fabulous and scheduling was easy. The doctor of audiology in the practice is also personable and excellent. I did not care for Dr. Speach. Each time I tried to ask a question, he cut me off. He was, frankly, somewhat arrogant and condescending. I almost got up and walked out of the appointment. While I do not disagree with his assessment, I found the experience to be poor. And, again, I had several questions and other data to share.
