Dr. Alanna M Rebecca

I would highly recommend avoiding Dr Alanna Rebecca. Her rushed and rude bedside manner, lack of compassion, and bullying you as a patient to make a decision fast stand out. She thrives on intimidating patients into doing what she thinks is best without taking into account patient history. She has zero compassion. Unfortunately, you can’t plan for an emergency and research where you would get the best care and attention for your situation. If you do have the chance to avoid Dr Rebecca, take the long way around and save yourself.

Save yourself a lot of surgeries, heartache, pain, anxiety and go someplace else. Dr Rebecca shouldn’t be taking care of a goldfish. I wish I would have read all the reviews, thinking “it’s Mayo” it has to be a great hospital was a mistake.

I had a more complex reconstruction due to Unforeseen complications which could happen to anyone. She handled my situation with grace , ease and professionalism. I felt so supported and very personally cared for the entire cancer journey by Dr. Rebecca. I think she went above and beyond the call of duty to meet my needs during a very emotional and precarious time. The outcome was highly successful despite the odds. My deepest gratitude and highest recommendation to her is well deserved. The Mayo Clinic is so lucky to have her. Dr Rebecca is great !

I had breast reconstruction from Dr Rebecca and she totally botched the surgery. She was supposed to perform the Diep method which does not cut the abdominal muscles. Not only did she cut the muscle but she did not stitch it back up, leaving me with an opening in which my intestines started to push out. Not only was this painful but my stomach started to grow as if I was pregnant. I have had 2 hernia repair surgeries since and 1 total re reconstruction surgery all done out of the State of AZ. I warn everyone I know that has breast Cancer in AZ to NOT use this Dr. I could go on and on with this story but the bottom line is STAY AWAY. My surgery went very well and Dr. Rebecca was thorough. It was not invasive and I was relieved. I really liked her bedside manner.

She preformed a breast reduction and botched it. Then had to do a second surgery and what she said was not all done. I ended up with most of my breast tissue removed, like a double mastectomy with tissue left and implants. I thank God I don’t have cancer. Granted I had fat necrosis after first surgery and after second surgery I now have capsular contracture and need a third surgery. She said the skin at the end of incision (called dog ears) will be removed on both surgeries and guess what? She gave me a third. In my gut I believe her physician assistant Lyndsey Bryant performed part if not all of the surgery. Mayo is a training hospital and if a physician assistant is going to do the surgery, I should have known and either agreed or disagreed. I wasn’t asked. Do your homework and don’t let her touch you. A butcher could have done better. Soon the third surgery Will be done, but NOT WITH HER. Mayo is great, but she needs to go.

I had a breast reduction and Dr. Rebecca and I feel she butchered me. I have no nipples and I have dog ears. Second surgery was a breast reconstruction surgery she was going to get rid of the dog ears; however, I came out of that operation with an extra one. Still one nipple inverted and other one looks like a piece of chewed gum. Because I had fat necrosis she had to give me a double mastectomy with implants. The implants are not under the muscle. Now I have to have a third surgery to remove implants due to capsular contracture and new implants put back in. It was a total nightmare. I feel she was not truthful to me and I’ve had other doctors look at my breasts and they say, “I’m so sorry.”Do your research on any breast procedures and don’t have it done at Mayo Clinic. Go to a private practice plastic surgeon. I look in the mirror and cry, I feel I’m mutilated.

I had breast cancer and had a mastectomy. I decided the reconstruction I wanted was a DIEP flap. Dr. Rebecca said she could do the surgery. This surgery takes your stomach skin and fat to recreate a breast but takes no muscle which was important to me. After the surgery she came into my room and told me she took some of my muscle. At a post OP visit I learn from her that she already knew she couldn't do the DIEP flap from my preop CT scans but failed to tell me. She took my muscle and my choice

Dr, Rebecca is professional, kind and has such a positive attitude! My family really appreciated all her care and attention to our smallest concerns about surgery and after care. Her and her staff are the BEST!
