This Doctor was very friendly and totally knows what he is doing . I was impressed with him and his professional staff . Talk about good people this practice is above average .

I'm astonished that he has so many great reviews. Dr. Wagner came highly recommended, so after seeing him and two other doctors in his practice fail to provied proper care, we sought out a better company. Not one of these doctors took the time to sit down and look into my mother's eyes. All the did was rush in to give her a shot and out they went. And to make this all even worst, we just found out that my mom has developed Glaucoma on top of the MD. It was not present before coming here and had they done their job we could have caught this at the start and prevented the progression. I'm thankful for our current and past doctors, because I know what type of care is expected and this company is not it. Slow down Dr. Wagner and provide the care you are supposed to for your patients. You know what you are doing is wrong and could be very damaging. Sadly, we are dealing with the now.

Dr. Wagners' treatment is better than Johns' Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. I had received Eylea treatment at JH before receiving it from Dr. Wagner. My vision has improved under Dr.Wagner beyond what JH had told me would ever happen. In addition, Dr. Wagner prescribes a monitoring divice which can be used at home that detects early activity even beter than the state-of-the-art diagnostic photography in any doctors office.. Furthermore, anyone with "dry" macular degeneration should be seeing Dr. Wagner for monitoring because, unfortuntely, a lot of general opthmalogis don't prescribe the at-home monitor. I referred friends of mine to Dr. Wagner and they love him too.

My visit last June 17, kind a hard to explain, first did have problems in schedule then the supposed to be surgery canceled, but it’s a good thing and i am happy because the Doctor said my tear on my retina is healed. But i am just saying why my first visit the Doctor said there is tear on my retina? Big question and confused me. So now I am coming back to see another Doctor, by August, so hope and pray all will be good as well and will will rate about it then how it goes really. And hope, now my bill with them will not be a lot and they will help out if can’t afford to pay in full. Dr. Wagner and Dr. Kapoor are great. I love them both. They are very caring doctors as is their staff. I feel really comfortable around all of them. I go to the Hampton office but have visited Suffolk and Chesapeake. They are wonderful. I truly am satisfied with them all.

...third visit he put me in the hospital and repaired my 'detached retina'...the eye gets stronger every year! I try to to visit this great DOCTOR every few years to remind him of the great work he did for me!!!

Capable, friendly, very professional staff. Treatment rooms are clean, comfortable, and attractive throughout. Always a pleasant visit from check-in to check-out. Although a great many patients are typically seen here each day, my visits have never felt rushed and I have always received personalized attention. I would not consider going anywhere else for this medical specialty.

My son has been seeing Dr. Wagner since he was 8 years old. Dr. Wagner is such an fantastic ophthalmologist! Every time we pass by his office, my son asks when do I get to visit with Dr. Wagner! I highly recommend him. He's amazing!!!!!

Oct 2, 2018 Dr. Wagner operated on my eye for a torn and detaching retina. My results were good considering before surgery I had 90% black wall in that eye. My vision is back, though not as good as before the retina tear. I’m very myopic, but I can read with that eye. I am happy with Dr Wagner and his staff. I believe you will be also.

Dr. Wagner has saved the sight in my right eye back in 2010 after a stroke. Now he is saving my sight in the other eye because of a different problem. I trust his expertise completely!

Everyone was so nice to the point where I felt like I was in heaven at each station in each person that I saw ,,everybody was so sweet and I felt like I was in a heaven for a while and my mind was at ease when I left there and it felt good to know that the people actually care

Alan Wagner is arrogant, impatient and condescending. He may be a good surgeon for some but lacks understanding of his own limitations. The complaints on this site are warranted.

Dr. Wagner is the absolute greatest!!!!! you do have to wait a while but he's worth the wait.

Dr. Wagner came in with the confidence that he knew what my questions would be and what I hoped to achieve. There are several other items I wished to discuss but I felt I had not been heard It was apparent that Dr. Wagner was in a hurry, the waiting room was full when I arrived and he saw many patients, his speech was upbeat but very fast, and he ordered a test for the wrong eye. All these things combined made me feel I was a check mark on a chart.

My wife suffered for two years and through two surgeries with a local doctor to try to gain vision in her right eye. Each time we became frustrated there was always another excuse as to why she was not getting better. We left that practice and were referred to Dr. Wagner. One surgery later, my wife sees perfectly. We have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Wagner. You may need to wait a little for an office visit, but good things come to those who wait!

I have been seeing Dr. Wagner for several years. The office experiences and the technical experiences have been very pleasant and informative. As for Dr. Wagner, I believe that he is the best and most knowledgable Doctor in his field. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of Macular and/or Retinal treatment.

Dr. Wagner saw me within 20 minutes of my panicked call to his office because I was losing vision in my eye. No referrals needed. His rapid diagnosis of me experiencing a stroke in my optic nerve combined with immediate treatment resulted in saving my central vision. When a 24 hour delay would have resulted in complete vision loss, Dr. Wagner's expertise and rapid response time was responsible for saving my vision. I would highly recommend him.

As far as I am concerned I am so very glad that I was sent to Dr. Wagner. I have macular degengerative in my left eye and still can't see out of it but hoping that after a few more visits it will start to clear up. Dr. Wagner is remarkable and I am very satisfied with the treatment so far.

staff were condescending,talked in a arrogant manner that was masked by a false sweet tone. They told me my insurance wasn't accepted...it was, that they would call me back...they didn't and that I must be mistaken in wanting to be seen by a rential specialist because of my age though I have a definite history of pars plantis. Dr Wagnor was insulting and falsely self assured. My other eye md completely healed my eye of inflammation and is certified in opthamology and internal med.

It seems like my appointments are frequently rescheduled.

I appreciate everything Dr. Wagner has done for me in order to save my vision!

He is very kind and he explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. I did not wait very long at all. Plus he fixed my eye! Would recommend him highly

I had excellent results from my eye surgery, and would recommend Doctors Wagner and Kapoor. The problem is the wait time in the Hampton office where people are backed up in first one room than another. So...maybe look at scheduling. Also, while the person at the front desk was making my appointment for another doctor, she was busy cleaning her fingernails with a toothpick and she made the appointment with the wrong place. The offices and professional staff are great, but not front desk.

I trust Dr. Wagner to save my sight. We have fought Macular Degeneration together for years. Throwing every latest medication and advancement at the disease has kept it from becoming worse. I tell everyone to see him or Dr. Kapoor.
