I've gone to Dr Schulman for 30 years now. He's wonderful. I'm hoping he NEVER retires. He has done so much for many patients (I know a lot of them including my husband). He actually cured a condition I had which was very difficult to get a handle on. Thank you Dr Schulman!

Dr. Schulman is the best! He takes as much time as needed for my appointments. He has a lot of empathy and was the only doctor that figured out my health issue.

Dr. Schulman treated both my daughters and myself for different gastrointestinal issues. He is extremely skilled and most importantly, is extraordinarily compassionate in rendering his diagnosis of a life threatening condition. He is a truly special physician and caring human being.

Not knowing what is wrong with you can be very scary. So, if you are looking for a physician that is obsessed to find answers and actually finds the answer, then this is your doctor. Under his care, you feel as if you are his only patient (bedside manners A+). He even responds timely to all electronic messages or calls you whenever new test results become available (trust me, I have a PCP that I have to call to find out my results, so I appreciate Dr. Schulman response time). I agree with a previous Reviewer when she stated he is a non-BS. However, don’t misconstrue this to mean something negative. It means he is honest with you and you should follow his treatment plan to see results. I associate his non-BS personality to that of a parent-child (doctor-patient). I have been a patient for over 3 years and he and his staff have always been extremely professionally (feels like a professionally run family business). If you are looking for an Internist/Gastrointestinal doctor then STOP LOOKING and CALL Dr. Schulman’s office to schedule your initial visit. Also, it’s worth noting that I travel ~25 miles one-way to visit Dr. Schulman and I live the Balt-Washington area where I live within 3 miles to unlimited doctor offices. So stop worrying about what’s wrong with your health, follow Dr. Schulman’s action plan, and live again. He’s worth it! Not knowing what is wrong with you can be very scary. Dr. Schulman is the most thorough, competent and caring physician I have ever met. I am 81 years old and he has recently seen both my daughters. His professionalism is exceptional. A lot of free parking space there, Dr. Schulman is one of the greatest GI doctors I've had in my life. He is very patient, helpful. He followed up our test results and updated the test reports in the portal system in a timely manner.

I was one of those people diagnosed with 'auto-immune something' who then waited years for a more specific diagnosis - only to find that some of the people I was sent to were a little ...scary, or just not helping much. Then, happily, I was referred to Dr. Schulman, who probably saved my life, though he wouldn't brag about it. He is incredibly smart, 'sees the big picture,' explains things in an understandable fashion, answers questions thru his portal (and is able to address less directly medical matters like supplements, dietary factors etc.)....He's also darn nice, and wickedly funny. I've been seeing Dr. Schulman for well over 20 years. I find it hard to believe that he had an argument w/a patient over money, as one reviewer stated. I had a condition he could have treated himself w/numerous office visits. Instead, as my disease wasn't currently progressing, he advised me for years to wait for a better treatment. When the new treatment was available in clinical trials, he researched himself, and made recommendations for where I should go. My condition was resolved, and he didn't make a dime. He is the best doctor I've ever been to. He is honest, extremely knowledgeable, and he will discuss anything that is of concern to me. I trust him completely. Dr. Schulman is awesome! He is kind of a doctor that takes time to explain everything to you, look into your eyes when talking with you, extremely knowledgeable, very supportive and caring. His level of knowledge and skill level are outstanding, and that combines with his many years of experience plus his caring heart are attributes that are hard to find. I'm blessed to have him taking care of me!

Dr. Shulman is a phenomenal physician. A wonderful diagnostician with a warm, thoughtful bedside. If you can get in with him, definitely see him!

Dr Alan Schulman is the best doctor you could ever have on your side. He is extremely efficient and detail oriented. His no bs attitude makes your case plan and simple. I was diagnosed with a bad case of Crohn's disease in my early 20s and he saved my life keeping me in remission for decades. Dr. Schulman is currently treating me. He's extremely knowledgeable and thinks out side the box. He is diligently trying to help me with different treatment plans, very methodically, one plan at a time. He brings confidence in me. Currently he's my best friend, and probably one of the best doctors I've come across

Knowledge alone does not make a good physician... compassion, character and a good heart are also necessary… but all this guy cares about is the money he can get out of his patients, and gives two hoots about their real wellness. IF YOU ARE NOT PROFITABLE FOR HIM HE LITERALLY SHOWS YOU OUT THE DOOR, AS HE DID WITH ME. He screamed at me, and threw me out of his office, all because few months back, in the midst of my pain, I decided I couldn't wait MONTHS for him to do a colonoscopy/endoscopy, and opted for another physician (within the same firm, and by the recommendation of his office staff) who would do it sooner…Little I know that had upset him so much that when I went back to him for a follow up after the procedure, he was livid. As soon as he entered the consultation room he slammed my file into his desk and immediately started arguing with me about how dared I going to someone else for the colonoscopy… never once asked about me or about my pain… instead, he immediately started lecturing me about how performing certain procedures was the way he makes his money, and that while the other doctor pocketed the money of the procedure he was the one who was left to do the "DIRTY JOB" (his own words). He continued rambling, always about money and at the end said that he didn't want to continue having me as his patient and asked me to leave UNBELIEVABLE!!! Dr Shulman is the best doctor I ever had. I am 46 yrs old and have been a patient of his for 30 yrs. He has always been compassionate and empathetic towards my illness. He has kept me in remission for DECADES. If only we had more mentors like him in the health industry. He is very intelligent but never makes you feel he is above any personal issue. If you ever need gastrointerolygist you would be lucky to have him on your team. With the utmost respect CAMILLE POLICANO BABBIS.
