I had my spinal fusion back in 2014 at 16 years old. My spine went from Straight to two major curves in the span of a year. He was absolutely amazing. 7 years and I've had zero complications. He walked me through the best way heal fast from it. I cant thank him enough for giving me my life back.

pour one out for the hack who completely ruined my adolescent spine before I had the neurological development possible to assess the risks at play, and secured me a young adulthood of constant chronic pain and an inability to work and even walk some days. hell is not a severe enough punishment for people like this. if there's any sense of justice in the world it won't favor him.

My first fusion (T5-L4) was terrible. The fusion itself was “technically” successful, but there were numerous complications that could have been avoided. Prior showed asthma, but the doctor ignored it. I was given Beta Blockers postop; stopped breathing. The IV was kinked under a brace and I got 0 pain meds first 24hrs. I needed 2 units of blood and it took 3 days to get it. Doc said I wouldn’t need phys therapy; took 2mo learning to walk again and had permanent nerve damage in my right leg and chest. Second surgery, after hardware broke, he first said I didn’t need it because he didn’t see a problem with having several busted pieces of metal in my spine. I went back and argued and finally got the surgery. I’ve been in chronic pain since, was forced to end my medical career, and lost 80% of my physical working ability. When asked, he refused to help with a disability claim and said the pain’s all in my head. Retired, thankfully, but wouldn’t loan him $5 for gas.

Although I will agree his bedside manner is a little different and business like, I would stand behind his ability as a surgeon 100%. He did my lumbar fusion in mid-September. I feel better now than I have in years. Is the pain 100% gone? No, but he didn't promise 100% relief. He told me very honestly that on average the pain is relieved about 70%. Some more, some less. Mine is every bit of 80% and I feel like I'm getting better every day. He gave me back my life!
