RUN DON'T WALK!! All he did was talk about insurance! He talked more about insurance than he did my injury. I thought he was a doctor not an insurance advisor.

He is a wonderful doctor, and I have already referred him to my sister who has gone to him a few times and she was very pleased

I’m a repeat customer. Dr Christensen operated on my right shoulder 10 years ago. I waited in pain for 5 years to have that surgery, because I was afraid of having the surgery. I’m so glad that I finally did it. My right shoulder is pain free and I have full range of motion. Now my left shoulder needs his services. I’m not waiting/suffering this time. I’m having Dr. Christensen fix it so that my life (my sleep) can return to normal.

In October 2022, I underwent repair of my rotator cuff and AC joint. Barely three months later, my shoulder feels better than it has in a long time thanks to Dr. Christensen and the Team at Orlando Orthopedic Center. Dr. Christensen's in-depth knowledge and experience provided me with peace of mind throughout the entire process from initial evaluation through follow-up office visits. The practice's office and nursing staff were polite and professional during all phases of my experience. If I had a bone to pick, it would be the lack of an "open" MRI facility within the practice. Notwithstanding that fact, I rate my overall experience with Dr. Christensen as a five star evolution.

Excellent care by Dr. Christensen, his team and the Dr Phillips office of the Orlando Orthopedic Center!

During the initial COVID lock down and out of sheer desperation to be free of my hand pain, I fell for this predatory doctor and office. The treatment on my hand/wrist was absolutely traumatizing and was a misdiagnosis, I found out later. My hand and wrist have never been the same since Dr. Christensen did surgery on it. I should have listened to my gut, I thought it was just nerves, but it was trying to tell me how awful of a doctor he is. The experience itself was nothing short of traumatic. If I had been diagnosed correctly initially, I would not be in the pain I am with my hand. Avoid seeing this doctor and if you can’t, get a second opinion. He won’t like it and probably tell you he won’t be your doctor anymore if you do, like he told me, but I wish I had. He was very short with us and made us feel like we were bothering him. We could not really get any answers and would not go back.

Let me just say that the nurse staff and phone staff was absolutely exceptional and professional. I was actually excited for this visit. Between me feeling like I was praying information out of the Dr he was not very friendly, not once did the man smile. That’s fine but at least give your patient more information that they understand. I felt inferior since I was maybe asking basic questions but he just seemed like he didn’t care or he was too busy. He gave me basic information I received at the urgent care. A bit disappointed with him and his way of being. Not the kind of Dr for me but amazing staff to sugar cost his superior than thou attitude.

Dr Christensen was very professional, knowledgeable, and quite easy to understand. His office was efficient and ran on time. I would highly recommend him without reservation.

Seemed disinterested. Offered no treatment or options. Said if the condition continued we’d check to see if I might have tumors in the exact same place on both arms. This was a joke of a visit. Retire!

Dr. Christensen was excellent. He was quick to review my file, provide options, and give me answers to all my questions. Surgery was the option I chose. He, his staff, and the surgical center were amazing. Very understanding and thorough and always available to answer my questions. I saw Dr. Christenson last week for pain and weakness in my right arm. He was nice to me and didn’t rush through the appointment. One thing that really impressed me was that he asked me if I would like to have him schedule a cat scan, blood work, etc., rather than just telling me what he wanted done. Dr. Christiansen is very thorough and had very good bedside manners. I like how he’s treating my condition.

I have had two surgeries with Dr. Christensen. His team is amazing and they are fast and efficient when handling with the disability claims. Dr Christensen has gifted hands. My scars are barely visible. I recovered without any pain medication!

Pilgaric by all definitions ! I should have read the past reviews. They are all true. If Dr Christensen's dog had died this morning I would have maybe understood his ill-mannered approach but still not been able to accept it from a person who has the audacity to call himself professional. If he has such distaste for his patients, maybe it is time to retire! I am not sure if this practice, which is properly named because nothing is right about the way a patient is treated here is a partnership or not but if it is, his partners are losing profits as Dr Christensen loses his potential new patients. My referring physician will not be referring new patients here after hearing my experience. ***"Nothing is right here" was only used for effect, actuality is the staff were very professional and courteous. Dr Christensen is lacking any type of bedside manners. If you’re looking for someone who’ll treat you more than just the next body to walk through his office doors, move on. I felt like more of an inconvenience rather than a patient in need. While waiting for him to come to me, I overheard how he talked to the Spanish speaker next door. I felt sorry for her on how he talked down to her (and that was through the translator). On the other hand, the office staff was very nice and helpful. That’s the only reason I’m giving 2 stars. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience with this doctor. Enough to write a review. The first time I saw him he was a bit rude but I just brushed it off to a bad day. The second time I saw him, I waited almost an hour to see him and his bedside manner was the absolute worst. He didn’t like when I asked questions about treatment or future. After asking him not to be so rude…He told me he was behind and that he talks fast. I assured him I had no issue with keeping up and that I deserve the same amount of time and respect that he gave the other patients who made him late. He was snippy and comments were uncalled for. Working in healthcare for over 30 plus years I went to be proactive about a simple injury. Loved the staff and efficiency,but will not go back to Dr Christensen.

He recommended after the MRI results to see a spinal surgeon which I appreciated. I just chose the wrong one to see.

I feel he cares. It is clear he understands what my medical issues are and I leave with a plan of action.

He cared about how much pain I was in and did his best to assist me.

Let me begin by saying Dr. Allen Christensen is the worst surgeon you can ever see, do not let him perform surgery on you at all, he is too old does not know what he's doing and needs to retire from the practice. If you want to become permanently disabled he's the doctor for you, stay away he has no ethic or communication

My experience was no pleasant, he care about the insurance nothing else.. when I told him my concern, he checked me and said " I don't know what is wrong with you" because the MRI came clean... so my pain was not important? I asked him a questions about my other hand and he said he can only check the one I made appointment for because that was the one insurance approved …. really? so Its all about money, no patient? (I am posting this review through the shared account my wife and I have, and helps summarize the uncomfortable visit I had today) Let me start by saying, I have never been so upset with a situation such as this. My wife has has worked many years in the medical field and I know for a FACT this is not only an uncomfortable experience for any patient and their family members but a huge violation of patient privacy. Dr. Alan Christensen was unpleasantly confrontational, unprofessional, and extremely rude. He doesn’t seem to like when patients or family members of patients ask questions. When I saw Dr. Alan was getting visibly upset and mouthy after asking him a question, I decided it was best to wait outside. As I walked out of the patient room, he followed me out and yelled out confidential information pertaining to my mother’s health and decisions he would make, right there in the hallways while other staff and patients were present. He quickly dismissed critical information from the imaging and records that was brought to him. It is still unbelievable how unprofessional and rude he became with me and my mother. I know it’s hard to believe one side of the story, but I wish it wasn’t the hard truth. It just seems Dr. Alan is getting old and becoming increasingly intolerant in his interactions with patients. Dr. Alan Christensen has been my doctor for years. He preformed surgery on both hands and both elbows. The service I receive is great. If not I would have gotten another doctor.

While the appointment times are on the short side, Dr. Christensen takes the time to really talk to you and explain the process of how the body heals. I have always left feeling informed about what all I was experiencing as well as feeling like all my questions had been heard and answered.

Saw Dr. Christensen about diagnosis and treatment for Dupuytren's Contracture. We had a great discussion about the 3 options, risks and benefits, as well as potential costs. I appreciated his expertise and candor. His patient coordinator (Samantha) took wonderful care of me and within a week, had a procedure at their surgery center. I went to Dr. Christensen twice. Both times I felt I was an inconvenience to him. I am one that only goes to the doctor when something is chronic, perhaps that was why he was dismissive. He ordered a number of tests (MRI, bloodwork and nerve study) and I went to physical therapy for 2 weeks. When everything was complete and the results were back I went for a follow-up. With very little explanation to the benefits and no explanation of the side effects I was injected with a cortisone shot. No restrictions for work were given (even though I had asked). Since I was so concerned I called my primary care doctor from the parking lot concerned over the lack of information. After giving myself a weekend to think about it I asked for a new orthopedic surgeon recommendation. I am very happy with my new surgeon because he answers my questions and spends as much time as I need discussing options and what the next step.

The only reason why I'm giving him 2 stars is because his staff is excellent and professional. I went in for my initial appointment and he ordered a bunch of tests and barely touched my elbow. My follow-up visit wasn't much better. He leafed through the results and all-but threw them at me. At this point I'd been to 2 months of OT and nothing was helping. Cortisone was the next step. The shot was given without any explanation of what it would do or what side effects it would have. He gave me no retractions at work. and left me with more questions than answers.

He is doing a good job.

Staff very efficient, Dr Christensen listened and explained all options. He advised the least intrusive through all other options. Unlike most doctor visits, he did not request to see me again unless the initially prescribed treatment was not completely satisfactory. He requested I call him again if I needed him. Dr. Christensen listened to my concerns and he made feel very comfortable discussing them with him. He was very emphatic to my feelings and my care. Would most definitely refer him to others that may need an upper extremity Orthopaedic Specialist.

Because he ignores his patients and does not listen to them, I was not able to get the care I needed when I needed it. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Christensen has greatly improved the quality of my life by his accurate diagnosis and treatment/repair of my problem. All of the Orlando Orthopedic Center staff and medical team did an outstanding job in my care. I will highly recommend them to my friends and family.

Dr. Christensen diagnosed me with Carpel Tunnel....I had carpel tunnel in both hands... He is a terrific doctor. Very knowledgeable. He explained to me the surgical procedure that he is going to do. His staff is also nice and quite accommodating.

Almost 29 years ago, in April 1990, at M.D.Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center, Andrews AFB, MD, I first met Dr. Alan W. Christensen. Then a Major in the USAF, he repaired my left hand after a firing pin malfunction on a 9mm handgun sent a round through it and into my 3rd metacarpal, leaving a very large gun shot wound along its path and a lot of pain. I was flown from Loring AFB, Maine to Andrews AFB at that time because I was told that the United States Air Force's best hand surgeon performed surgery at that facility, and that if anyone was going to be able to save my hand, it would indeed be him. Dr. Christensen's skill and assiduous professional oversight not only saw my hand repaired, but set the stage for the physical therapy that would find me regaining full use of it in short order, guaranteeing me a life wherein I am actually never made mindful of it, unless the subject comes up in discussion. Dr. Christensen and his staff were consistently professional and caring. I had carpal tunnel surgery and from diagnosis to post op the process was fully outlined, expectations defined, and details provided. With Dr. Christensen, his staff, and the surgery center, every encounter was pleasant and professional.

I have to wonder who is leaving these positive reviews of Dr. Christensen. My experience with this man was Awful. He was very short with me and incredibly rude. I waited in a room for 1 hr and 20 minutes for him. He came into the room 1 hr after my appt. time. Didn't apologize for my wait but rather said he didn't have time to deal with me. When I tried to ask a few questions, he cut me off and told me I was too old to have anything done. Then, again cut me off and said he had places to be. Mind you, I waited one month for the appointment and arrived 20 minutes early with test results in hand. He didn't take the time to look at them or explain anything about them to me. This doctor was HORRIBLE to me. If I could give less than one star for him I would.

Dr. Christensen is a very caring physician. Never in a hurry. Fully explains your problem and gives you several alternatives for care. I have been using Orlando Orthopedic Center for close to 20 years. I would always recommend this group for any orthopedic problems.

Dr. Christensen performed tendon transfers on my daughters wrist and hand. Prior to this surgery, her wrist and fingers were so contracted and painful that the wrist could not be manipulated and the fingers could not be opened without tremendous force. After surgery, her wrist is flat and her fingers are open and straight. Her pain is substantially improved. This surgery was a major success. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Christensen. He is skilled beyond belief, kind and caring

Dr Christensen is fantastic. In the last six weeks he has fixed both of my hands with carpal tunnel and he did a fantastic job and explained everything thoroughly so I could understand it

Had surgery on shoulder torn labrum in two places surgery was easy recovery was not long. Been here twice for two different issues will gladly go back.

On all my visitI was to the center,I signed In 30 minutes early and sat down.Within 10 minutes I was seen by the nurse &xray tech & taken to Dr.Christensen's 'treatment room. I sat down & in a few minutes Dr arrived .He got right to my problem ,witch was a follow up of my last visit.(a sore wrist). Every thing checked out & I was sent home a happy camper. Dr. Christensen did a great job with my rotator cuff injury. My recovery after surgery was longer than I thought but he always reminded me to be patient and to understand that I had a severe injury. He is very straight forward and to the point. I am still recovering but thankful that Dr. Christensen was able to repair my shoulder. Dr. Christensen was wonderful. I have graduated earlly from my fractures and he has been an amazing help in my recovery. The procedures that they have in place are amazing, very organized, and individuals do not spend a plethora of time waiting. Dr. Christensen is warm and very approachable.

Dr. Christensen has been my orthopedic surgeon for 3 rotator cuff surgeries (one was reinjured) and two carpel tunnel surgeries. He's an expert in his field and a very straight forward, no nonsense doctor. He gets the job done efficiently with no complications, good recovery time, and you are on your way.

Hands down the worst Orthopedic doctor in Orlando. He simply can't be bothered to answer patient questions. Did not provide a correct diagnosis, which my new doctor thankfully did provide with a bit of asking questions about my symptoms and doing a quick diagnostic test on me. Dr. Christensen will unnecessarily push surgery and simply doesn't care to even listen to patients. After I asked him a question he said, "I don't need to answer that because it's not relevant." Unbelievably rude.
