Dr. Alan Chanalis I highly recommend him he has helped me a lot .

He is very thorough and listens. He is a fantastic diagnostic, digging for answers to use his knowledge and your responses to come to a decision about your ailments. You just need to be patient because that listening means he goes over his allotted appt times.

Dr. Chanales treated my wife 23 years ago for a life-threatening pulmonary disease. I am convince we could have never found a better pulmonologist anywhere. My wife's illness last 3 months. The ICU nurses told me when we first brought her in, "Dr. Chanales will do everything he can for your wife. They were right. My wife survived the illness (ARDS), which has a survival rate of 50 pct.

In my opinion there are not many doctors like Dr. Chanales. I have been seeing him for 11 years, and I recommend if you are looking for a doctor he's the one. He is very compassionate, kind, very knowledgeable, and he helped me with my breathing. His nurse Karen,is also a five star she will go Way beyond her call of duty.

Dr Chanales changed my life, for the better! Haven’t felt this good in 15 years. He is practical, gracious and incredibly smart. I highly recommend him!

I saw the Dr. due to breathing issues following a long illness. I was given an Asthma test which showed I did not have Asthma. When I asked if I should/could do breathing exercises to improve the situation, he laughed at me and said no. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to this Physician again.

His staffs are horrible. They should all be fired. I did not see him just because of his staff, Karen WITH NO LAST NAME, who gave me wrong information and canceled my appointment. On the day of the appointment, she called me and told me that they need to collect $314 affront. I told them I checked with my insurance and its not that much. She insisted that is how it works and canceled my appointment. I called my aetna insurance and explained the situation with the agent and then the aetna agent confirmed that the doctor's office gave me wrong information. Then I initiated a conference call with my aetna agent and the doctor office to speak to Karen. We were on hold for 30 minutes and Karen never picked up the phone even we heard them giggling. Excellent Doctor and Office.

So glad I found this doctor. He is smart, caring, compassionate, always there 24 hours a day, funny and just a very special physician and human being. He has helped me tremendously. Thank you Dr. Chanales.

I have returned to Dr. Chanales after many years due to new pulmonary issues. I am glad I have. He has been very professional, and care so far has been excellent. His staff has also been excellent. They worked hard to get me an earlier appointment for my first visit. They called as soon as an appointment cancellation occurred and I was able to see him six weeks earlier than initially available.

Dr. Chanales and Audrey Weitzman are absolute life savers! I was headed to the ER and Audrey had already called in two prescriptions! I have never, ever had this kind of care and concern by any hospital, including Hopkins, or doctor! Thank you!!!!!

Fantastic!! Was recovering from pneumonia at first attributed to bronchitis by regular doc & after 4 weeks of lingering symptoms got a referral to seeDr. Chanales. Staff fit me in right away. He prescribed additional meds to aggressively treat underlying asthma/allergies. A few weeks later I had a weekend flair up & he returned my call within minutes. Months later back from travel w sinus symptoms & they fit me in same day. He stayed until past 7pm to treat everyone. Heroic!! Staff great too!

Ready bad experience. The first appointment he was on the phone most time. The second appointment, 2 hours after appointment time , still did see him .......I had to cancel it.. Never want to go back anymore.

Dr. Chaneles is a first rate pulmonologist. Excellent diagnostician and good bedside manner. I found him to be a good listener and very focused on addressing the issues of concern to me. Highly recommended.

Suffered a PE and was not treated by previous Dr. nor Shady Grove Hospital. They kept sending me home until the clot passed and ended up in lungs....post hospital I found Alan Chanales! Best doctor--after being ignored through the PE process... Intelligent Dr.

Dr. Chanales has been our family doctor for over 20 years. He has saved my grandfather's life and was my mom's Guardian Angel. He is such a patient and caring Doctor. He takes the time to get to know you not just as a patient but as a friend.

Dr. Chanalas is a dear and excellent at what he does. He remembers my problems and even personal issues. His staff is considerate and very dear. I am so glad he is m doctor.

I want to believe and like Dr. Chanales. I want to think that he has my best interest at heart but sometimes he can be negative when he speaks. I have an issue breathing that is scary enough, please show some compassion and less sarcasm!

Awful. Made snide comments about my father while he was in a comma. My father ended up passing away a few months later. No thanks to him.

Dr. Chanales refuses to use standard diagnostic protocols for fear of "false positives", then proceeds to misdiagnose. I had to go elsewhere to get an accurate diagnosis, and the two year delay probably cost me 30% of my lung capacity. Patronize this doctor at your own risk.

Have been patient for nearly 20 years. Extremely professional and technically competent; he has earned my total trust and confidence.

The doctor kept picking up phone calls from his personal cellphone during the appointment. He seemed generally nice, but also a bit condescending. Wanted to like him, but hard to do that when he seemed a bit rude to the patient.
