I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Mahmoud. By the grace of God this Dr. came into our lives and we are so grateful that he did. Thank you Dr. for all you have done for Robert, we will never forget you.

I hate so bad that he has moved! Novant messed up when they let this Dr slip through their hands! I had 3 month follow up today at the Winston office and there is no comparison to Dr. Mahmoud! He is so much more personal and never makes you feel like you're in and out of his office quickly. He talks to you, explains procedures and protocol to you, but most of all, he listens to his patients! Love love love him! So glad I got my surgery in before he left! I will travel to NY if I ever need surgery again! No comparison!

I had a serious neck surgery and every step of the way, Dr. Mahmoud and his staff made a very difficult time a lot less scary. He shows a great deal of care for his patients. He will often have to reschedule appointments, but he does so because he is fitting in urgent matters and surgeries. His staff and office have always been very pleasant and understanding. I had a reaction to something after my surgery and he saw me on Christmas Eve to make sure that I was going to be ok and that I had the necessary supplied to completely and effectively recover. He has never shown anything but complete care for his patients. He is often very busy but he never makes you feel like you aren't worth his time. He is a rare and appreciated doctor.

I’m going to tell about my experience and visits with Dr.Mahmoud. I have been seeing him at Novant Brain and Spine center in Hickory N.C. He treated me for my chronic neck pain. And he treated me with my back problems. He performed surgery on me in December and I tell you this doctor and his staff are by far second to none. And just want to let Novant Health know that they are loosing a very very good doctor get away. I also told that Novant was closing the Hickory office. And leaving there patients out and trying to find another Neurosurgeon with out having to weeks and or months just to get an appointment. So good luck to Dr. Mahmoud and his staff. Thank you Dr.Mahmoud.

Dr Mahmoud is an exceptional neurosurgeon. His bedside manner & in office manner go beyond what is expected. He & his staff always go out of their way showing concern & attentiveness to my problems or concerns. They take the time I need to explain any concerns I have. I never feel rushed or that I am a bother. I highly recommend Dr. Mahmoud.

Dr. Mahmoud did a total cervical fusion C3-C7 on me! I had many issues prior to my surgery! He is so kind ,caring, down to earth dr I have ever been to! My surgery was a total success! My history of past failed surgery had given me problems for well over a year! Dr. Mahmoud nailed it! My neck problem should have been found long before I ever went to Dr. Mahmoud! Yes have told a lot of people about Dr. Mahmoud. First he did carpal tunnel on both hands. Then he fused neck at 5,6,and 7. I recommend him he also explains in terms you understand.

Dr. Mahmoud is the best surgeon ever! He is compassionate, highly skilled, and has a calming bedside manner. As a woman of 68, who has had over 12 surgeries, I will tell you that if you need a neurosurgeon, this is your best choice! His office staff is friendly, prompt, and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Mahmoud!

This was our initial visit with Dr. Mahmoud. Our total experience was excellent. We had a list of concerns and Bridgette Cook, PA listened to each and every one. Then Dr. Mahmoud answered every question we had and administered a thorough exam. After 2 years of excruciating pain, we are confident that we have found the one to help us figure out what's going on.

Dr. Mahmoud is a caring and understanding physician. He takes the time to explain all questions, mostly with graphics that are easy to understand. While I haven't had to have surgery, he has explained my options and has set-up the appropriate physical therapy for my issue. He has made personal follow-up phone calls to me. His staff is incredible! Each of them are friendly, helpful and most of all understanding. He is a great addition to Hickory!

Completed proceedure as predicted with great results. After 8 weeks since surgery I feel great with very little pain. Would recommend him and staff very highly.

Dr. Mahmoud is awesome! I suffered for 7 years due to L5S1 broken bone, he did a cage and back fusion surgery 6 months ago. Immediately upon waking up from surgery and walking 4 hours post surgery I was in soooo much less pain then I had for the prior 7 years. I was off all pain meds in 4 weeks and haven't needed them since. Dr. has a great bedside manner and works with some great doctors. My surgery required two other surgeons, the teams work together track record was really impressive.

Dr Mahmoud was very compassionate and listened intently to my symptoms and complaint. His bedside manner and follow up care after surgery was wonderful. Nate even called me at home after the surgery. I was so impressed.

Doctor Mahmoud was very open and honest with what he thought needed to be done in my situation. He took the time to explain everything to me and ask if I had any questions. He helped me get the surgery done in a timely manner and made sure that I had the exercises needed to strengthen my neck, so that I could get back to helping my family and teaching as soon as possible.

Absolutely Loved Him---I trusted him, and he didn't let me down. His skill and kindess are extraordinary. I was impressed with the preparation for surgery--supplements etc. Nathan was also great--answered questions and was very concerned. Great Team

Dr. Mahmoud is one of the finest physicians I know. I had a few surgons work on me and delt with surgons who worked with family and he has the best bedside manor along with how he explains what he's going to do, what the outcome may be, what can go wrong and all in a way that anyone can understand. I told him he explains fine print in laymans terms. I had major surgery and after many months of dealing with pain, when I woke from surgery, I had instant relief in my leg and back is coming along ok

Dr. Mahmoud was a wonderful surgeon to work with. He clearly explained my condition and why surgery was necessary to correct it. He answered all my questions and has a very calming and competent presence about him. After my surgery he followed up me numerous times that day and the next. He has an excellent bedside manner and made me feel good about how the surgery went and my recovery. I had cervical spine surgery two years ago; however, I continued to have numbness in my finger and I just didn't feel right. After not being satisfied with my surgeon, my husband and I went to see Dr. Mahmoud. He took the time to REALLY talk to us and explained what was happening. We were very impressed and felt so comfortable that we knew he was what we wanted in a surgeon. Dr. Mahmoud even called me to see if I had any questions! Dr.'s asst. Nathan Tapio, APNP, CNOR was also wonderful!

I had surgery on my lower back March 4, 2016. I feel so much better and returned to work on June 2, 2016. I can not thank Dr. Mahmoud enough to have bestowed upon me his medical abilities with such a wonderful outcome. I am so happy that I feel good! His nurse, Nathan Tapio has been a lot of help with questions I had after my surgery and at my appointments. Keep up the great work! I would recommend you to everyone. I had back surgery for pinned nerves in the lower back. after surgery I had very little pain and now can do most of my normal movements. After about 1 year of pain I am getting back to normal. thank you Dr. Mahmoud.

He was a very caring and knowledable Spinal Surgeon who performed back Surgery on march 16,2016. I am doing real well and have been packing to move home I have only minimal pain.. . pleased and. I would recommendt my walking so straight.already to his great surgery He is very caring about your careall throughout your healing time also!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a herniated disk and tried chiropractors, muscle relaxants, ice and then Dr. Mahmoud offered the outpatient disk surgery. The surgery instantly took my pain away. My recovery time was a bit longer than I had anticipated. Icing my back often daily, no driving for 3 weeks, but worth the wait. Dr. Mahmoud and his assistant Nathan are there for you if you need them, just call and they will get back to you. Successful surger, very pleased.

I first met Dr. Mahmoud on December 31, 2015. I was in excruciating pain! I was in so much pain, that I could not even sit in a chair and I was scrunched on the floor! From the moment he walked in the door and took my hand, I knew that he was the Surgeon that would take awesome care of me! I had surgery on my L5-S1 Microsurgical Discectomy Jan.8,2016. When I woke up from surgery I was no longer in pain from my injury for the first time since July 1, 2015! Dr. Mahmoud was very compassionate!

My mom Barbara had surgery from Dr . Mahmoud In Jan 2016 We can not say enough about the experience we had Not only is he a fabulous surgeon he has a fabulous personality explains everything so you can understand that and makes you feel so comfortable and make sure that you have the decision of what you want And the most important is that he got her to almost zero pain She had a surgery from a different dr a year ago and had no results she ended up with more problems than she started with

I have been in pain for a few years. Dr. Mahmoud has helped me be able to walk without being uncomfortable with every step. Although me comfort level is much improved, me mood has improved. I had Spinal Stenosis and was in a lot of pain and could not do many of the things I used to do. My surgery was complicated but went well. I am very satisfied and thankful for the excellent services provided by Dr.Mahmoud and his staff. I now have a new lease on life.

My mom has had multiple docs over the course of 15 years. All of them have said they will not operate. My parents found out about Dr Mahmoud and he not only took her, but he made both of them feel very comfortable. After surgery, he was forceful but kind. He wanted her to walk and that would only happen if she got out of bed. She hated him at the time , but now it is 7 weeks after the surgery, and I finally see her walking straight. She loves him to death and would recommend him to anyone!

He himself is a very good doctor. But I must say, scheduling is not the easiest and the wait times are horrendous. I have only seen him 2 times and both times I have had to wait. The first time it was over an hour and when I finally said something, then I was told there was an emergency that morning. Staff didn't think to tell me that it was going to be a bit. The second time I went, there were computer problems and I waited 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment.

Dr Mahmoud simply gave me my life back. I am walking today because of Dr Mahmoud. My surgery was two years ago. At that time, I was unable to walk any distance or participate in daily living. Dr Mahmoud performed a laminectomy and fusion front S1 to L2 including a revision of L4 to L5. His precision and expertise have been amazing. From recovery until today, I have had no lower back pain. If I need any further surgery, I will travel to Wisconsin rather than risk another failed surgery.
