Akil Shomari Benjamin

I only met him once and so far I give him a thumbs up. He explained everything well. The only thing I didn't like is I have to go back in 14 days (another 50.00) and I have to get MRI.. more $$$ and then I'll get my meds and spend even more $$$, not to mention missing time from work. Money is tight right now. I would think at least if they bring you back that quick, the office visit would be free. But if everything goes well in future, I suppose I can live with it if i have a place to go to that I feel comfortable with. I'll see how everything goes and then maybe I can go from 4 stars to 5.

He is The BEST in pain management

I had a bad experience trying to schedule an appt. I kept leaving messages for days and no one would call back. I even held on for 35 minutes hoping someone would pick up the phone. The only way to get through was to push the option for “calling from a physician’s office” and then they would answer. So I give whoever is watching the phones 1 star. But when I got there, everyone was very nice. Dr. Benjamin explained everything and was very clear as well as the girl who took me to an exam room. I was ready to look for another doctor office in the beginning as I was really angry at how the staff on the phones treat you. But Dr. Benjamin was worth it.

Dr. Benjamin is the best pain doctor I have ever had! He is very professional and knowledgeable. He tells you exactly what he is doing and what to expect. I highly recommend him!

I moved here from another State. I had no family or friends to recommend a physician. I depended on searching social media & patients reviews to select a Specialist. I’m extremely thankful for the people that took the time to submitted reviews. Immediately after my 1st visit I could tell my condition was going to be handled differently from the State I relocated from. I was very nervous & my anxiety was running high. I had been through past painful procedures & I was definitely concerned as to what I may endure in a new area. Well, I’m now bragging about the svc. I’ve received from Dr. Akil Benjamin & staff at the Westminster Ofc. The service is/was Amazing! He told me step by step everything he was doing. He told me when to expect a stick, a sting, a touch of the hand or pressure. How the flow feel as the medicine goes in. I want to send a “Shout Out” to the Office Staff their “Hospitality” is a comfort. The “Nurses & Tech’s” are “Awesome” pulling double duty with a counselor ear.

Dr. Benjamin is a caring, competent doctor whom I've known for many years. Upon getting back injections from him, he explains exactly what he's about to do so I'll be prepared. I have never felt pain during these procedures. He goes well beyond what he needs to do in order to help his patients.

5 stars ?? for Dr. Benjamin He is an amazing doctor. I was referred to him by another amazing doctor (orthopedic surgeon) and couldn’t be happier. He is very thorough, takes his time, explains each step of the procedures, and compassionate. The front office staff deserve 1 ?? Rude and nasty. It’s disappointing to see this behavior and they act like it’s ok!! I’ve been to the office 3 times and on all 3 occasions I experienced the same attitude. Thankfully Dr. Benjamin is that good that I will continue to come back.

Everyone in office is friendly & professional. Dr let's patient know of each event of procedure & is very encouraging

Dr Benjamin and his staff are all great as far as personality/bedside manner are concerned, but also tremendously professional with clear steps to assure accuracy and accountability throughout their procedures. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone I know.

Dr. Benjamin and his staff provided excellent care and service in treating my pain. The staff was kind and courteous. Dr. Benjamin has great bedside manner - he is informative and reassuring.

I'd been with a different pain management practice for years, had tons of injections, and even nerve ablations but my pain was getting worse. My requests for new MRIs was met with "Nothing has changed. We can do more injections". Frustrated, I made a "check it out" appt with KureSmart. My life changed when "check it out" became Dr Benjamin accepting me as his patient. He ordered new MRIS that very day. Results confirmed worsening changes but there was also "something new and unusual" so a prioritized neurosurgery appt is set for next week. To help manage my chronic "other"pain , Dr Benjamin did a different type of injection yesterday. Despite my trust in Dr Benjamin, I was very anxious because many of the prior injections were painful during and after, leaving me bruised and once, even cuppable hematomas. I was beyond shocked that Dr Benjamin's injections were PAINLESS AND BRUISE FREE. My confidence and faith in him is limitless and whatever health issues are ahead of me, I know he'll be there for me. If you don't feel like that about your pain management provider, you are not in the right hands. I can't thank Dr Benjamin and KureSmart Pain Management for being light back into my life. Dr Benjamin is the only doctor I would trust with my life. He is honest and very compassionate. He cares about me as a person and not just a number on his patient list

They did a good job under adverse conditions, with covid19 going on. They explained everything before they did it. Made me feel relaxed. The shots he gave me made a noticeable difference. I can’t wait for the next round. They tell me it could take 3 to make a big difference.

Dr. Benjamin listened to me and took his time with the visit. He was knowledgeable about my complaints, because he took the time to read my paperwork prior to the exam. He made recommendations that I felt comfortable with and ordered tests to confirm a diagnosis. He is a very nice doctor one that you do not find often in the medical profession. I would recommend him to my family and friends if they needed pain management.

My appointment was with little wait time from the time I checked in and checked out and was very pleased with my service I’ve received

Absolutely would recommend Dr. Benjamin. For the first time in a long time I feel listened to by a specialist for my chronic severe migraines. I felt hopeful after one visit. And to someone who suffers so much, that means the world to me. His bedside manner was impeccable. He was very thorough and ordered diagnostic tests that no one thought to do. This is how a medical professional should be. I don’t mind the small wait time at all. Thankful patient.

I really trust and respect the doctors advice, I am very happy with the service and all the help I get from the doctor. a lot of people gave up on me but doctor Benjamin is trying to help me a lot...thank you very much

Dr. Benjamin takes time to listen, then give his opinion. I have a severe injury that will not change, I'm very happy with the course of treatment and do not want to change, he has not pushed for change and I truly appreciate that. The only complaint I would have is the wait time. I've seen other doc's in the practice and they run right on appointment time & are just as caring.

Dr. Benjamin was polite, kind, and thorough. His bedside manner was pleasant and his skills were superior. My issue was relieved in less than a week with the needed injections.

Love Dr. Benjamin's bedside manor. He is very patient, gentle, and explains each step he does. I was very nervous when going in for my first set of my injections (as anyone would be) and he took the time to discuss them both with my. I couldn't have thanked him enough! They went by much smoother than I had expected. He also was very informative with all of the information things to be aware of afterwards. Everyone reacts differently. The office also calls to check on you the day after.

I would not recommend this dr because of where he works and patient care poor. I transferred to company to remain w/dr I had for 6 years - got upset because my portal was deleted rather than work w/me dr blamed me for not being able to get job done- poor. Threatening a patient that if they disagree w/anything term unacceptable among other things. Dr. Benjamin is upper mngm and should run a better company. Funct rehab program not offered - wanting scripts same dates - American Spine better
