Dr Stephens cared for my mothers in the Skilled Unit at Fountains at Canterbury. He was never available to talk to family on the days he came to see the patients. I feel he deliberately avoided me. I waited 9 hours one day and was called 9 min after I left that he was seeing my mother. The other day I waited all day was there from 730am til 8:45pm. I was told the next day he came in at 9pm. And He evidently did not know how to read Mercy’s records. He prescribed med’s for her from illnesses 3-4 years previously for an eroded esophagus. He neededlessly gave her Carafate. He gave her 50mg Prednisone from Bronchitis on her records where it was taken only 3 days but he gave it everyday for a month and why?? She didn’t have Bronchitis that had been cured 7 months previous. He didn’t give her the Tramadal she was use to getting for pain in her back and shoulders instead ordered an anti inflammatory drug that had stickers on the blister pack that said “WARNING—DO NOT TAKE WITH ASPIRIN OR BLOOD THINNERS”. my mother was on life time Coumadin. And worse the reason she was in the Skilled Unit was because of uncontrolled diarrhea and C-Diff and he gave her DOK. Which is a laxative. Dr Stephens is the Worst Doctor we have ever had. Dr Stephens cared for my mothers in the Skilled Unit at Fountains at Canterbury. He was never available to talk to family on the days he came to see the patients. I feel he deliberately avoided me.
