Reviews for Dr. Adam J Hedaya
Doctor Heydaya, I thank you for not giving up on treating my pain. We went through much through this year, treating my pain. God knows you are an awesome pain doctor with compassion for your patients. I suffer so much with this awful pain, since moving to this state. Others assume the pain was in my head. I thank you all and your staff for the caring support. I highly recommend your pain clinic. May your practice continue prosperity. Please chronic pain people, PAIN IS NOT A LIFESTYLE. Make an appointment. Happy New Year's Day.
I have been seeing Dr. Haydea for the last 3 years, even through the pandemic. He always listens, great bedside manner which is vital in my opinion, his office staff is wonderful in responding to phone calls, messages, all the other needs. I have recommended him to many others and will continue to do so. I am not a doctor person until the pain is so bad and now I have been able to manage pain and live with an active lifestyle.
I have had serious back and neck issues for 20 plus years. I know my own body pretty well and it would be great if one of the doctors there could listen to you, the patient. I have been seen in this office for the last 2 years at least. Nothing they have done has helped me at all. I just show up every month to pick up a gabapentin prescription refill and a beluca prescription refill. I pay my co-pay and pee in the bottle which I get a separate bill for. I'm 65 years old and I'm not sure why I can't be given pain medication that will work. For my years I was treated with actual pain medication and I never abused it. There is no history of me having problems of any kind. Who wants to be in pain towards the end of their lives. You throw everyone together and make one conclusion (WRONG) work alittle harder, treat everyone as individuals. P.S. - Does anyone know a real doctor out there? Unethical. Unprofessional. This is a bummer to have to write a bad review, but everyone should know what’s happening here with this practice. Upon receiving a medical marijuana card and receiving treatment 2 years ago, I started receiving bills in the mail from the lab-testing corporation Parkway (the company Hedaya’s practice uses* for the quarterly urine samples he requires). My mom (also a patient of his) called his office on behalf of us both saying we were confused about these bills. She was told by the billing manager of Hedaya’s office “You are not responsible for those bills per the agreement we have with them. You can dispose of them as they are simply a formality.” Last year, we started receiving new bills by a corporation named Lab Corps for $937 every time we went in for our quarterly check up. We called again to ask about the new bills and discovered that Hedaya’s office changed their lab-testing partnership from Parkway to LabCorps - which is not covered by our insurance. I asked “Why weren’t we notified of this change? You and I both know that drug tests are not mandatory by the state of Ohio to receive a medical marijuana card. Had we known this partnership would be changing and our insurance wouldn’t cover it, we would have stopped our care through Hedaya and found a new practitioner.” Their operations manager said “I’m not sure who did your urine sample that day, but they should have told you about the change. There’s nothing we can do. You are responsible for the bills so my advice is to speak with Lab Corps about the problem.” I said “As the operations manager, you most definitely have the responsibility of notifying your patients of any changes that affect their insurance, potentially costing them thousands. Relying on some unknown third-party employee to distribute that information orally and using it as a scapegoat is not only absurd, it’s unethical.” She still took zero accountability whatsoever. If that wasn’t frustrating enough, we have tried talking directly on the phone with Hedaya and he refuses to return our calls, emails, and formal letters of complaint. We are talking about thousands of dollars accruing from a drug test that is *not mandatory* by the state in order to have a medical marijuana card. Additionally, he raised his copay from $25 to $50 without notifying his patients. If I could rate this with 0 stars I would. Adam is a nice man, but his lack of professionalism and courtesy to help us figure this situation out is beyond unethical and disheartening. My recommendation is to look elsewhere for treatment. I hate having to write a bad review, but it's important to share. My partner has been a patient of Hedaya for the last two years receiving medical marijuana treatment. Each time she came home from her appointment with him, I'd ask her how it went (I was considering becoming a patient myself) and she'd say "Conversation lasted literally 3 minutes. He came in, said hi, asked if I was having any problems. I'd say nope. He'd say, 'great see you in three months' and that was it. Such a waste of time having to drive out there." Now she's dealing with a major insurance problem with them. They made a change on their end and didn't notify her and now she's being told she's responsible for all these insurance bills (over $1000) that she wasn't receiving before they made their change. I've heard her try to explain how unethical this situation is multiple times over the phone, and they continue to tell her "there's nothing we can do." It certainly feels this practice is more concerned with money than quality care. I hate having to write a bad review, but it's important to share. Took my dad for intercostal nerve pain due to shingles from the covid vaccine. He had been to numerous doctors, emergency room MRI no one could figure it out and nothing was being done for the pain. I found Cleveland Pain Care , they got us in right away and Dr. Hedeya knew immediately what it was and treated him immediately. We had a nerve block 2 weeks later and the pain is almost gone. If he has another flare we will be right back in. I finally have my dad back. Cleveland Pain Care saved my dad's life and I'm not exaggerating. He's great and his whole team is so helpful and caring. After a lot of other negative pain care experiences with other places, this place is a breath of fresh air. Everyone wants to help and they will try a lot of different things to alleviate pain. His nerve blocks and injections are top notch. C
His whole staff is very responsive and helpful. He is so nice and friendly, like he knows me, cares about me, not just my chart. He has helped me tremendously, my back and neck have gotten so much better in the past few years - all because of him! It's not a miracle or fast process but he will try tons of different things to help. So many things cause pain, it's not just slipped discs and stuff. He's great - would highly recommend.
I wanted to love this practice. The office staff is extremely friendly all the way down to the MRI technicians and front desk staff. But I must say that I had a bad experience. I went there after 2 months of excruciating sciatic pain from 2 herniated discs compressing the nerve. I saw the PA because Dr. Hedaya does injections all day Mon and Tues. She never actually examined me at all. Told me I needed the injection, put me on steroids, and scheduled an MRI. I got the injection 5 days after my MRI. It was not effective at all. Upon follow up 3 weeks later, I had to see the PA yet again. She asked if the injection was effective and I said no and she stated, "Yeah, that's what I figured based on the size of your herniations" What?!?!? If you knew it wouldn't help, why put me through getting put to sleep, missing work, the discomfort, as well as the cost? Plus the fact that I am at risk having an injection around my spine? She stated that I would need yet another broader spectrum epidural injection and a surgical consult. I asked about physical therapy and she agreed in conjunction with the injection. And once again, did not at all examine me! Needless to say, another injection wasn't happening and neither was surgery. I'm 40 years old, been through 20+ years of back issues, and have 2 small children. A good friend then referred me to a functional medicine doctor /chiropractor. She did multiple xrays at different angles and spent an extensive time EXAMINING me. Imagine that?!?!. She stated that I in fact did not need surgery and that even with my level of herniation, our bodies are really designed to be able to heal themselves in most cases. She explained all the anatomy and physiology and showed me my xrays compared to a normal healthy spine. Well, here I am 1 month later, about 90% pain free. She sees me 3 times per week for 3 months, then just maintenence thereafter. And she has equipped me with exercises and stretching routines to keep me out of pain and help to prevent further injury. This is what doctors SHOULD do. She gave me hope and didn't want to just put a bandaid on a problem, but help my body to truly heal. I'm sad that this was my experience at this practice, but so grateful that I have found someone who cares now. I wanted to love this practice. Absolutely astonishing bedside manner’s from Dr.Hedaya. Unfortunately they no longer accept state insurance and have to find another doctor.
I was in a horrible car accident 5 years ago . The driver rear ended me and hit me twice. My seatbelt did not lock. I first went up and hit my head on the roof and the second I hit the windshield. I have not been able to hold my head up straight for 5 years and the pain almost unbearable. Dr. Hedeya with his cervical blocks no surgery, gave me my life back. My neck is normal and pain free. He is kind and sweet. You will love him! Oh and quite handsome as well!! Catherine Ulan I was in a horrible car accident 5 years ago . The driver rear ended me and hit me twice. For 23 months I was in pain. It started at a level one and amped up over time to a level eight. I had multiple hip injections, countless appointments at very prestigious institutions, and was eventually told that I needed a hip replacement at 50 when it was my butt that actually hurt. I was referred to Dr. Hedaya by Dr. Reuben Gobezie as he was treating my wife for a shoulder injury related to her occupation. My wife had excellent experiences with Dr. Gobezie so I made an appointment with Dr. Hedaya for the next day. He took one look at my scans and x-rays and said that it was my lower back. We scheduled a simple cortisone injection for three days later. I want to be crystal clear on this: I was advised by prominent doctors not to do this and went ahead with the injection without their blessing. I opted out of anesthesia and was able to observe what was the most professional, caring, quick, and near-painless injection imaginable. The team was jaw-dropping amazing. As I type this it has been 30 days: 30 pain-free days. My outlook on life is enhanced and I feel like the old me. The medical system has challenges. I would trust the major institutions to do a heart bypass in a second. They have become incapable, however, of "treating the person". Thank you Dr. Hedaya. While I am not a fan of going for walks, I now have no excuse for not doing so with my wife :) For 23 months I was in pain. It started at a level one and amped up over time to a level eight. Dr. Hedaya is awesome! He never gives up on helping relieve your pain. I've gone into his office in tears and feeling hopeless. Dr. Hedaya will take whatever time is necessary to listen and will discuss options. He doesn't give up! His office staff and physicians assistants are wonderful. They make sure you are able to be seen as soon as possible including scheduling procedures. I went through a few pain management doctors before finding Dr. Hedaya and unless he leaves Cleveland or retires, I wouldn't even think of finding another pain management doctor! The Dr did a good job taking care of my husband. However his billing coordinator was terrible. Bari could not bill correctly she was supposed to bill Medicare and did code correctly. Medicare told us is she was terrible had many complaints about her. It is terrible because the dr was good but not the billing department. She was rude and did not care. I have been seeing Dr Hedaya for many years. I recommend to anyone that needs him. If you want your life back without narcotics he is your guys. If you just want pills somewhere else is a better option. He will help every other way. Best ever
Over the last two years, I've received two facet injections & one nerve block as a patient of Dr. Adam Hedaya at Cleveland Pain Care (Beachwood Medical Center, Lake Health). All three injections have successfully relieved the severe back, hip & leg pain I was experiencing on a daily basis. The icing on the cake aside from his skilled hands? Dr. Hedaya is one of the most engaging, pleasant Physicians I've encountered in last decade. If you're in pain, go see Dr. Hedaya (and tell him I sent you)!
I love Dr Hedaya. He doesn't give up! If one treatment doesn't work he will try something different until he finds the treatment that works for you. His staff and the Beachwood outpatient center are awesome! The only problem for me is that the strongest meds he will give is Tramadol and that doesn't help me at all. I understand the reasoning,, it's just too bad for people that are truly in pain can't get the meds that work for them.
I really tried working with Dr Hedaya and his staff, but became extremely frustrated at the lack of honesty and transparency. The dr himself is friendly and seems to want to help. He encouraged me to switch my insurance in order to get treatment , as the one I had wasn’t “ paying him for approved procedures “. This should have been my RED flag. I had read many reviews about this office “ pushing” injections, and sadly i should have taken heed. After getting the run around multiple times for months, with their “ insurance specialist“ at their office ,who repeatedly filed my claims incorrectly , to the nurse and desk staff who gave me different answers every time I called, my entire experience was dismal. They ended up trying to book another procedure, that “ insurance would probably cover”, but wasn’t going to fully address my medical issue. My advice is to dig a bit, read the other reviews, and if you schedule an appointment, go in with your eyes OPEN. I went somewhere else. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Dr. Heyada is very friendly and listens. I could not be happier.
I don't write reviews all the time. One is deserved especially if the cumulative experiences are similar. Bad reviews are rarely bad on the basis of a singular visit or the performance of one individual. Shame on you if you blame Amazon for a product arriving damaged! Shippers fault! Off my soapbox! My experience with Dr. Hedaya and his office have been one wonderful and noteworthy experience after another! It originated with a visit with his colleague, Dr. Reuben Gobezie whom I also HIGHY recommend, who, after very thoughtfully assessing my complaints, urged me to see my pain management doctor. Not really wanting to return my own established pain doc, Dr. Gobezie recommended, as he should, his colleague, and I was meeting with Dr. Hedaya's PA less then 20 minutes later, and scheduled for a procedure four days later! Unheard of! Zoom meetings were prompt and helpful through restrictive lockdown circumstances and alternative pain the therapies were offered while elective procedures were suspended. Once those procedures resumed surgical experiences were awesome, too, except for the whole mask thing.... Honestly my least favorite part is those gowns... But nope! They just covered my fashionable chunky boots and in surgery found their way to my hip without ever needing to disrobe at all! I took a little nap- went to Corky and Lenny's for lunch- went home and napped some more- Like nothing happened at all! I'm a VERY HAPPILY married woman. The Doc is easy on the eyes.................. I can’t say enough about my experience with Dr. Haydeah. He is kind and comforting. The experience of getting a procedure is so tightly managed. Every single person that you encounter are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. If you are like me and have anxiety with needles, you have nothing to worry about. On top, I’ve received almost full freedom of lower back pain. At my last check up Dr was so excited to hear the news. You could see the smile through his mask. Dr Hedaya eliminated my almost crippling pain. Three nerve blocks, and one epidural, and I’m close to being "like new."
I was referred to Dr. Hedaya by another doctor. I called his office to make an appointment, and was told that I could not schedule an appointment until I completed a set of paperwork. The paperwork was e-mailed to me, with an instruction to fax it back. I don't have a fax machine, so I filled out the paperwork and called the office to ask if I could drop it off in person. No one answered the phone, so I left a voicemail. I never received a return phone call. I have since moved on to another doctor. My experience mirrored that of other people who have said they could never reach anyone at the office.
I saw this doctor recently at his clinic located in Beachwood, Ohio. He was extremely polite, & so was his staff. I am so happy that I have finally found a doctor, that actually listens to what I have to say. After several years of visiting numerous doctors & getting absolutely nowhere, I feel that I might possibly be able to correct the problems this time with Dr. Hedaya. I have just started my treatment plan, & look foward to hopefully being pain free here shortly.
Can not speak to someone when you call- you always have to leave a message. Firm believer in interventional pain management approaches-injection after failed injection. Office staff does not follow through on duties and can be rude. This is not pain management, but a business of injections profiting off of the suffering of others. When the doctor is on vacation, rest assured, nobody is covering his patients.
LIKES TO PERFORM PROCEDURES UPON PROCEDURES...EVEN THOUGH RESULTS ARE LACKING. IT'S LIKE HE'S GRASPING FOR STRAWS! HE WILL NOT PRESCRIBE OPIATES UNLESS IT'S IN CASE OF CANCER OR TERMINAL ILLNESS...WHICH SHOULD BE EVALUATED ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS...NOT JUST HIM TOTALLY RULING THE THERAPEUTIC USE OF THEM OUT...DUE TO HIS HIS PERSONAL FEAR OF BEING SUED...
Dr. Hedaya asked good questions and then offered procedures that would help me with the pain in my lower back. It is very difficult to contact someone. When you call, you get a list of options to choose from and not a real person to talk to. I was told that it was because of the number of calls the office gets but I believe that it is important, when people are in pain, that they have a real person to talk to. I needed to confirm an appointment and couldn't because I had to leave a message.
