He doesn't listen to what you have to say, he is very arrogant, self centered, missed diagnosed a treatment as I had to see another Dr to get proper treatment . He's all about the money in his pocket

He is an excellent physician and takes the time you need. Also personable and friendly and compassionate, with a good sense of humor.

He's Sarasota's best. Both my wife and I are his patients and love his thoroughness and attention to detail. Plus, Tori, (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is terrific. This is one of the best teams in medicine.

Fires patients for clarifying their name to receptionist. Have heard many similar stories, he fires patients for questioning him or requesting a second opinion. Stay away from him.

I won’t pretend I understand the difficulty of being a doctor especially considering they are having to deal with people daily in very uncomfortable and often scary situations but regardless they should be trained for that and be able to adapt and in turn really help people. Dr. Getzels is a quitter and kind of rude it turns out and As I look back in my years of treatment I can’t really think of one way he helped me as the Issues I went into address are the same then as they are now. Unfortunately my relationship with Mr. Getzels how now ended as he fired me a patient (via mail). He decided he wanted to lecture me and raise his voice to me at my last appointment because he felt as though I was not respecting his directions as a doctor because of course I questioned some of the things he was doing and wasn’t following his advice to the T. He refused to answer questions about current research and how new technologies exist that might help me ween off of chemical drugs and submitted I should probably stay on chemicals my whole life. He came across as not really knowing much about how to treat my situation or how to deal with it and I think here at end of our relationship I am coming away with more questions than answers. I’m sure he would argue that I was problematic and a terrible patient because I can’t understand why else he would dismiss me as a patient but the truth is often a stranger than fiction so if you decide you want to take up Mr. Getzels as a doctor be prepared to be underwhelmed and very possibly disappointed. I am fatter and no more healthier than when he first started treating me and while I take full responsibility for my condition- in a way I could argue he failed me .... but who really cares in the end, not him I assure you. Make your own decision but don’t be surprised if you end up disappointed. Dr. Adam Getzels is a compassionate, kind and caring physician who is unfailing in his patience in answering concerns/questions, his treatment is top-notch and never hurries our visits. If it is deemed necessary to refer for additional treatment, that referral is made that day. My husband, daughter and I are all patients and we wouldn't change physicians for anything. If you want an A+ primary physician, Dr. Getzels is your physician. Highly recommend!! I have been a patient of Dr. Getzels for a few years and I am very pleased with the personal care and attention he gives me. Recently, I have developed a condition which Dr. Getzels discovered and has been treating me. He has personally called to make sure the Medication was working and that I was not having a reaction. He is very caring about his patients and their health. He is an excellent Physician and one that I would highly recommend.

Dr. Getzels is always very friendly, takes his time, addresses all my concerns, and explains everyhing in detail. I trust his opinions and decisons 100% and am greateful to have him as my PCP. Not only he cares deeply about my health, he also cares about keeping my healthcare costs down. I could not be happier with him!

I would not recommend Dr. Getzels to anyone. He spends very little time with you and does not really care about what your concerns are. He talks at you and then leaves the room. He feels like he knows everything and you know nothing. He wants you to just schedule appointments over and over to make money for himself. I feel he needs to re-visit the oath he took as a physician "do no harm." He seems to be driven be greed, not by taking care of the patient. Would never go back.

I have been a patient of Dr. Getzels for ten years. He is very professional and always makes time to talk to you so you fully understand what he is telling you. If I call with any questions for him his nurse Tori always calls back with the answer. It's great to know he's only a phone call away.

Excellent service. Incredibly attentive. If there are any labs that need to be discussed - the doctor calls me directly, even after hours. I highly recommend Dr. Getzels.

I have seen Dr. Getzels 3 times and I find him knowledgeable and straight forward. He like many Drs. are always rushing and he does speak fast but you have to listen. He will answer questions if you direct them at him. He seemed to understand my personality , the kind that wants information and he explained to me my blood test results in detail. he took everything I told him seriously. He also called me directly to talk about the second set of blood results and referred me out to a specialist

We have found Dr. Getzels to be very knowledgeable, patient and listened each time my husband had a visit with him. We would highly recommend him to our family and friends.

Always had a bad feeling after talking with Dr. Getzels. He DOESN'T LISTEN, it's like he already has his mind made up. Maybe it's arrogance or insecurity or something. For prescription refills, you have to contact the pharmacy instead of his office. As you can imagine, things get lost in the shuffle: the pharmacy blames the doctor's office (who blames the pharmacy).

This Doctor along with Intercoastal Medical Group has the practice of double billing patients for two office visits during annual physicals saying they have a right if the doctor talks about any ongoing health problems, it is considered a follow up! If you are looking for a doctor I would look outside this group.

Missed diagnosing pre-diabetes for 2 years. Discovered after full blown diabetic test result with fasting blood sugar = 150 on third annual visit after which I reviewed prior test results. Recommended metformin. I declined and saw endocrinologist who did further tests and advised I was not a candidate for medication (LADA diagnosed). Would not let me interrupt to ask questions during his summing up monologue, after which I forgot the questions which his comments raised.
