He's trying to get my insurance to pay for a prescription himself.

Due to severe pain of a shoulder I was scheduled to meet this "doctor" whose office did accept my insurance. My 10am appointment was cancelled and they only offered me two others at 830am the next day. Ok, no car but we can manage. When I got there many of the above descriptions held true, and I regret not having read reviews prior. Much paper work, got my x-rays and files faxed in, met an assistant who asked questions and I did my very best. Eventually Murillo steps in saying the x-rays showed nothing, and when I suggested an MRI he agreed, wrote me a script then disappeared, all 3 minutes that I was granted - no interest in knowing what might ail me, nothing. Scheduled an appointment with a MRI facility but the bloody office never came through with necessary authorization requests, day after day, very bad at answering calls, a week goes by, everything cancelled and I'm left with my pains hunting down a new MD. Save your money, rude staff, front desk cursing out a storm, front desk area looks like a car repair front desk, the front desk personnel read my credit card Outlook to her coworker, made fun of a patient that was on pain, never bothered to look at my medical records, did not take my vitals, doctor was dismissive, I tried to show him my records where the oncologist recommended pain killers, he only have me prednisone, did not help. Called, front desk was rude, told me to find someone else when I told her the doc was dismissive and needed him to check charts, donde to nurse, nurse was pleasant but not helpful, told me to tough the pain out for a week until prednisone worked. Love him! best pain doctor ever, he did an epidural block on me and I barely even felt it! he has wonderful hands and is amazing at what he does! <3

If your looking for a doctor to coddle you you have come to the wrong guy. But if you want straight forward answers to your questions and a good solid doctor that knows more about stimulators and implantable pain pumps then he is the greatest. Trust me I’ve had 10 back surgeries over the years including 5 spinal fusions I’ve seen doctors around the country and he is as carrying and capable as any I’ve ever been to. I have no clue if he is the best surgeon has done 3 solid surgeries for me and everything worked out pretty good but it’s his bed side manner that he shines he won’t spend time with you unless you’ve asked and then he is straight out with it. Appointments are easy to get his staff are all great have never had the slightest complaint. Anyway not sure where the negative reviews come from I’m guess they want what can’t be provided he is for sure thr first doctor of choice for me in pain and I drive across the state to get there for 7 years now.

I have a great experience with the doctor .he was very profesional Took plenty of time explaining me about my desease ..he truly care about his patient .I .aim very satisfying

I was referred to Dr Murrillo from my Neuro for a lumbar epidural. He is an absolutely amazing, kind gentleman. Not to mention an amazing Dr. He truly cares about his patients. He is Extremely knowledgeable in his field of Pain Management. He spends Ample time making sure you are comfortable and he made sure that I” understood the procedure step by step. His staff is also very attentive and kind. Georgie is top notch! Every time I call she makes sure that I get all the answers to my questions , not to mention - friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend Dr Murrillo to anyone who is suffering with chronic Nerve pain- and or back pain. I drive 2 hours to see Dr Murrillo and his staff. He is an expert in his field. I know I can rely on him. Most importantly I trust him.

I come all the way from North Palm Beach to see Dr. Murillo and it is worth it. Office staff is friendly and they always get me in. Dr. Murillo is willing to try new methods to help with my back pain and my neuropathy. With pain takes time. There is no easy fix. Together we are working on a long term plan to elevate my pain.

He does not listen to the needs of the patient also his staff is beyond rude makes you bring your own records then when you want them back he wants to charge you for them seemed to me that all he want to do is string you a long so he can bill your insurance company in my opinion he is very shifty DO NOT GO TO THIS DR. unless you enjoy horrible experience I would leave minus stars if the option was available he prescribed me steroids that put parts of body that were not in pain to extreme pain so if you want to be in more pain by all means make an appointment guy is a joke

He’s been seeing me for issues I have with my breast and so far has been the best doctor I’ve seen in Miami . I just received my pain injections and so far I’m feeling good and he’s been helpful as far as the other times I’ve seen him as well . - Alicia Schraud

I have several conditions and he hit it on the spot, I was surprised that he has had neg reviews but working around Dr’s help me to get to him.... a true dr that loves what he does and also not pouring unnecessary meds down my throat to make me a Junkie but fixing all my problems right! This guy is a Quack! I was in a bad motorcycle accident, I was hit by a car that was going over 50mph, I almost died! I had multiple back surgeries resulting in several fusions. Then I got discitis from one of the surgeries and I almost died again. The result was I am left with severe scarring in my back and severe nerve pain. I went to this doctor because the pain management I was seeing went bankrupt, that was advanced Neuro and Spine. That pain management was treating my pain well, I could live my life and enjoy time with my children. Then I see this quack, he asks me what meds I'm on. I say one of them is Gabapentin 800mgs and for 10 mins he argues that they don't make am an 800mg tablet. Idiot, I've been on them for 2 years I think I know!! Then he pushes Fentanyl on me. Before I ever sign a single paper, and he NEVER even looked at my back. SO OKAY I tried the Fentanyl and had a horrible reaction. I literally thought I was going to die!! My wife calls his office and tells them the reaction and they tell me to come back in. The next office visit he says that I forgot to fill out my paperwork, umm no I saidI wasnt given any. Then he says I am lying about the Fentanyl because I didn't go to the ER, I spent months in the hospital that was the last place I wanted to go!! If I was going to die I wanted it to be in my OWN home! Then He has NO paperwork about any of my past surgeries and says I am lying about them too! He asks me if I was in so much pain why haven't I seen another surgeon and I explained I did, that he recommended more fusions. Then he asks me why didn't I proceed and I answered because I will NOT let another South Florida DR work on me! Then he proceeds to grill me and tell me I am a bad husband for letting my wife work while I sit home in pain and telling me I'm a bad father because I take pain medicine to be able to play with my kids. I hope this PUTZ has back pain some day and knows what it's like. My regular medicine was a 10mg tablet taken 4 times a day. He treated me like I was a junkie and implied I had a reaction to because I tried to smoke it or eat it. This guy is a Quack of the highest degree!! This guy is a Quack! All he does is give the advice of sending patches. He doesn't listen very well when patient is explaining about problems they are having with the patches In the past. He must have a deal with the fentanyl patches and that's all he wants to prescribe. He is not a doctor that will listen to his patients. I don't recommend him at all for anyone that is going through a severe battle of pain. I'm very disappointed of the way he treats patients. He doesn't deserve not even one star. Smh!

He is not a dr ,he no act like one

the doctor is an ok doctor at least he heard what worked for me. but those girls in the office are so rude! they don't care to listen to what you have to say, it always has to be on their terms. Appointment wise they aren't flexible at all i can literally be dying and they won't accommodate me.

Dr.Abel Murillo is an amazing person all together very loving and very humane not to mention an outstanding pain management Doctor. He goes out of his way to help his patients deal with pain to the best of his abilities and is always available to listen to his patients worries and concerns. He saved my life back in 2013 when every dr had given up on me and just thought I was a junky. WOW! To start, I have to say that I was shocked to read the negative reviews posted. So, here is my experience with Dr. Murillo & his staff. I had a car accident 20 yrs ago that left me with a brachial plexus injury, I lost use of my right arm & years later I developed CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome). After having seen different Dr's & some pain specialists that weren't a good fit for me (I had been told that I would live with this chronic nerve pain for the rest of my life & I had to deal with it).So while visiting a pain specialist & telling him that the injections he was giving me were not doing anything for me, he referred me to Dr Murillo, that was 12 years ago! I remember meeting Dr Murillo & how we discussed my issues & treatment possibilities. We 1st tried the spinal cord stimulator which unfortunately did not work for me & instead I now have an implanted pain pump, this has given me a better quality of life. I see Dr Murilllo about every 8 wks for the pump refills BUT most importantly, due to the CRPS I have these horrific "pain episodes" (from time to time) that leave me incapacitated (some times for almost 2 wks) During these episodes, Dr Murillo has always been there for me. He always takes my husband's phone calls, whether it be 3pm or 3am...& let me just say that more often than not it's later in the evening. The fact that we call & he answers is important to me. He has always been available. As far as the staff, I have not had any issues, of course, I have been a patient for 12 yrs so if there was a mishap it must have been minor because I don't recall anything at this time.so, in closing, if you suffer from chronic pain or have other medical issues that would require you to see a pain specialist, I highly recommend Dr Murillo. He cares about his patients, he will look into all possibilities in regards to treatment so that you can have a better quality of life. Very unprofessional. This clown saw me for less than 5 minutes, acted like he knew my medical condition when he had not even seen my medical file because he didn't even have it. I told him what the pain management specialist I saw in Pennsylvania prescribed and how it was working. This clown tells me he won't prescribe that and that he is Board Certified and will fix me (I have medal pins in my back, which can't be "fixed"), then he starts pointing at his certificates on the wall and bragging about being Board Certified. He then scribbles out a couple of prescriptions, tells me he will give me a lumbar/sacral injection (even tho' I had just told him I wouldn't do that again), he gets up from his desk and, without saying anything, walks out the door leaving me sitting there. About 15 minutes later, a nurse sees me and tells me they are closed, that I am finished. I asked where the Dr. went and was told he left a little while ago. That was not only rude but also very unprofessional. To top it off, I look at the prescriptions he gave me, Gabapentin 300mg and Methylprednisolone 4mg and I had just told him (and put it in writing) that I had tried Gabapentin before but it was no good for me, that it made me feel like I was drunk (I don't even drink).
