About Dr. Ziad M Mamish
Reviews for Dr. Ziad M Mamish
I saw this doctor for two years for hyperthyroidism. I slowly got better and came off my medication. A year later I got tested in my school districts health and wellness center (I am a teacher) and they did labs. They found I was hyperthyroid again (very- tsh 0) and they did an ultrasound and I had a goiter. I felt bad and also had trouble swallowing. I called dr mamish’s office and the ladies at the front desk showed him my labs and he told them to schedule me for first available appointment, which was six months away. I said I really didn’t feel good and I had a goiter, and I asked them if he could at least send in my medication to my pharmacy in the meantime. Two days later I got a call from their office indicating that dr mamish recommends I should seek treatment from a different endocrinologist since I was “dissatisfied” with his recommendation. This man should not be in practice anymore…

Great Doctor and PA.

The scheduling staff is very rude. They just speak over the patient and won’t listen. They put their incompetence on their patients.
Dr. Mamish is very through when looking for the root of my problem. I have multi nodule with goiter. I go back every year , so he can keep a close eye on my problem. I highly recommend Dr. Mamish.
Dr Mamish has always answered my questions thoroughly and has been extremely helpful with regard to my health.
Dr. Mamish does not handle endocrine disorder, like growth hormone deficiency. He told me he "doesn't like it". So, he's not really an endocrinologist. He is overpriced though.
He doesn't practice all of what endocrinology covers. He told me "I don't like IGF-1" so he doesn't work with endocrine disorders. This should be advertised so others don't waste their time with Dr. Mamish. I'm assuming he only covers diabetes because that treatment is easy enough for him to understand. I'm also disappointed that he insisted on telling me false information, even after telling me he doesn't work in that part of endocrinology. Please avoid Dr. Mamish if you suspect something is wrong with your pituitary gland, he won't help. He did order me more tests for a disease I don't have symptoms for. Not that he asked what my symptoms are or even gave me a chance to talk. He doesn't practice all of what endocrinology covers. I barely remember my visit with him as I had recently come out of lung cancer surgery and there was a possibility that I too had thyroid cancer. I do however recall him being extremely rude. I was trying to pull up my pathology report when he looked at me and said seriously, you are going to be on your phone during the doctors appointment. My other half stated that I was trying to pull my pathology report. I believe the appointment was late October or early November. I also told him that I would not settle for just T4 replacement. He told me to come back in April. In January I called to try to get my thyroidectomy scheduled before April and was told I was not scheduled for surgery. Both my other half and I were under the impression that surgery was already set for April. I had since then gone to my Primary care physician and he said that Endrocrinoligst do not do the surgery and gave me a referral to a phenomenal suergon. My pathology report came back as cancer of the thyroid. Too many patients booked for same time. Not possible for doctor to see them in timely fashion. We arrived ON TIME and have been waiting 30 minutes so far. I was his first patient of that day. He was 50 mins late. He was rude and did not listening to my concerns. He spent about 15 mins with me but wrote on my discharge paper "lengthy" discussion with me for my diabetes! He spent almost 10 mins to explain why he used his NP to see his patients. He charged me (1st visit) $346.53 and he told me to go back to my primary doc for my diabetes! That is so ridiculous and expensive to pay this so-called specialist for his service! Never again!! Never met the guy (refuse to acknowledge doctor). First appt the doctor's office called the day before the appt to reschedule as he is not available for my two month wait scheduled appt. Rescheduled for the following week. First actual appt 0830, left at 0950 as the guy never showed up. Second appt 0800, arrived 0735, not let into office until 0800 and waited in check-in room until 0820. If you have a job, find an actual doctor. This guy needs to realize that people have jobs and can't wait until he thinks he should show up. I would loose my job if I was late like he supposedly is.
Oh my goodness. We went on Nov 10, 2021, and besides my PC, he is the 1st to actually explain all so throughly even drawing pictures to explain all step by step. I highly recommend Dr Mamish. He didn’t mind answering questions from my SO either so we both understood where I was at. Other personnel in office were very good also. Not one rude one among anybody there.
Awesome doctor!! He really placed my mind at ease and explained my situation thoroughly. He cares about my condition and I had a very pleasant experience. I had a lengthy wait time but it is worth it because he is very good. I highly recommend him!
Staff very uncaring and lie. Dr. Mamish I like. Had 3 way call around 11:00 am on Friday 8/20=2021. Dr Mamish’s office denied my referral for my thyroid management due to my labs being “normal”. My referral was sent in August, they received it in September and I never heard back from them so I called today 11/4 to be told they denied my referral because they don’t see patients with “normal” labs. My labs are only normal because I’ve been managed by endocrinology for the past decade for my unstable Hashimotos Thyroiditis. My labs will significantly fluctuate where I’ve been prescribed a range of synthroid from 112mcg to 137mcg in less than the past 12 months because my synthroid dose frequently needs changed due to the instability of my thyroid but no, my labs are “too normal” for Dr Mamish to see me. This is the absolute worst practice. Staff is extremely rude. I let the provider know how I was treated by their staff. Next thing I know, I’m told that I am being released from the practice. I guess they don’t like complaints. I was rescheduled over and over on the day of my appointment. I was refused my test results even though I paid for the tests. Very knowledgeable and kind doctor. Never makes me feel rushed.
Dr. Mamish and Stacie are awesome! Very knowledgeable and great at explaining things in a way that makes it easy to understand. Staff are always kind and helpful!
Dr, Mamish is one of the best physicians I have ever been to. He took his time and and answered all questions that I had during my visit. He was very thorough and informative. Dr. Mamish's staff was very helpful when it came to insurance information.. I highly recommend Dr. Mamish!

The staff and Dr. Mamish are extraordinary. They are doing so much to repair my osteoporosis. Even though my insurance company leaves a lot to be desired, they are doing everything they can for me. l am very grateful and couldn’t have found a better doctor and staff!
Itâs interesting reading all of these reviews about people getting dropped from the practice for missing an appointment when Dr.Mamish himself wonât even show up to work. Had my initial appointment today @ 8:30, at 9:15 I was told he âwas stuck in traffic but was in routeâ...mind you I just drove from Gulf Breeze over Garçon Point and it was no worse than it normally is. I waited until 10:15 and walked out. I literally had to have family come into town to watch my toddler because they âdonât allow childrenâ right now and then he canât even show up to my appointment? (Like my 3 year old with a mask in a stroller is going to be an issue) Not only that, but when I said âcan he go ahead and look at my labs so he can tell me if Iâm okâ they said âyou have to have an initial appointment first. So, shout out to Dr.Mamish for not even following his own rules on no showing. ????
Dr Mamish is the single worse physician I’ve ever encountered. First of all I am type 1 diabetic and was seeing him for the first time late December 2020. Not only did he not conduct a physical exam to listen to my heart or examine my feet - NOTHING, but when I told him I had been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath he stated “you should see someone for that because that could be your heart or lungs.” That’s right- he dismissed me. He asked me if I was ‘a good patient or a bad patient’ and because I said he would consider me bad because my A1C is out of range he put in my record I was “non compliant and had non compliant behavior”. I also told him about diabetic meds a general practitioner placed me on that has helped tremendously and he didn’t know anything about this med even though it is for diabetes. If you trust him with your life you are DEAD. He also knew nothing about insulin pumps he said!! The most worthless dr ever.
Awesome every time I go!!! Love him and his PA!!!
I could not rate dr mamish less than 5-stars. He is a thorough physician & has helped me so much with my health
Awful Dr...he was nice and personable but incompetent. Any Dr. Not willing to incorporate dietary changes as part of the treatment is stuck in the pocket of Big Pharma and corporate medicine. He chose a wait and see approach to my gf's treatment and now she's facing alot of nerve wrecking tests, surgery, and a possible cancer diagnosis after being very ill for almost 4 years now. This has crippled our life and greatly affected her ability to be a mother to our 8 & 9 year old boys. Mamish doesn't deserve the title Dr. Do your research. Read the reviews. Can't say how great him and his entire staff is
Extremely polite and knowledgeable physician. Explained things thoroughly. Very friendly staff
No matter what time you schedule an appointment, no matter how early you arrive to your appointment, you WILL wait at least an hour and 15 minutes or longer to be seen. At which point Dr. Mamish will grant you 5 minutes of his time. That is what your appointment will be. Very flippant with concerns and does not offer much help except to say your lab results are good, or they need adjusting.
Very good ,nice ,respectful & helpful Doctor.

I would give Dr. Mamish a zero if possible. He prescribed anti-thyroid medication for hyperthyroidism and then sent me home for three months. In the meantime, the dosage he prescribed put me in hypothyroidism. His response was that he was sorry and that my body must be very sensitive to drugs. When I tried to discuss diet and supplements, which has shown in research to play a significant role in the treatment of hyperthyroidism, he laughed at me and said those things make no difference in the treatment outcome. I fired him because of his unwillingness to work with me, and his condescending and patronizing attitude. He only knows what he knows, and obviously has not stayed up with the latest research on the diseases that he treats. He needs to retire. I would give Dr. Mamish a zero if possible. I wish I could give this unprofessional a zero. My wife is suffering from supposed hyperthyroidism but it swings both ways hypo/hyper based on the medication prescribed and that without a full blood workup. I can't put into words what a roller coaster this has been for us. She's had to seek counsel from a pharmacist at her primary cares office just to get her medication increased or decreased based on her blood results. Thank God for the pharmacist too as he's worked with the VA and seems to truly understand what is going on with patients who suffer from this. Dr. Mamish refused to do the full blood test and my wife had to go through her primary care physician via the pharmacist just to get a full panel work up. When the results came back with levels elevated and we called Mamish answering service, his response was I don't have the results and you should go to the ER. When we explained to his answering service we have the results, and would like to speak with Mamish the answering service said he was not uninterested in speaking to us on a Sat and we should call his office on Monday to make an appointment. When we questioned the severity of my wife's condition he suggested we go to the ER; this is his patent answer, go to the ER. All this related through his answering service as Mamish was unwilling to even speak to us to verify the severity of the situation. For anyone who has thyroid issues, you know waiting two days for any help is absolute torture. Going to the ER provides no help as all they'll do is make sure you're not dying, which you feel like you are. It's just a shame that there are so few endocrinologist in the area. Great Doc, particularly good at making elderly comfortable.
Dr. Mamish and his staff were outstanding. They all helped with smiles on their faces and made the experience as comfortable as possible.
Today was my first visit to Dr. Mamish. I was so impressed with the way he listened to me, really listened, and waited patiently until I finished explaining my problem. He took notes, examined me thoroughly and very kindly explained what the procedure was going to be to bring back my good health. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mamish. I had read some of the negative comments on here and was a little nervous. I cannot see how anyone could find Dr Mamish rude or uncaring. He is fantastic and his staff is wonderful. Great doctor! Dr. Mamish took his time to explain to me that while the doctor that referred me to him did not send me to the right type of doctor he was willing to help me with the process. Dr Mamish is ALWAYS cancelling appointments. Sometimes you get warning but most of the time, they just call and “have to reschedule” last minute. I’ve waisted enough of my time with this practice, he obviously doesn’t care about what his patients need to rearrange their schedules for his appointments. I’m yet to actually go in for an appointment on the day it was originally scheduled for.....Save yourself the pain and find someone else

Horrible experience.
I wouldn't waste you're time - the office staff don't know what they are doing - I've have tried to get apt for two weeks and they kept saying they needed a referral when one has been sent numerous times . Diabetics dont have time for this kind of negligence . Our health is on the line . And needing a referral for an endocrinologist when you have had T1 since your were 9 is a little ridiculous . Extremely knowledgeable and very kind!
I give Dr. Mamish a 5 out of 5 star rating. I saw him for a cyst on my thyroid. He listened to what I had to say, waited for me to finish speaking, and then responded in a very respectful manner. With the nature of my visit being somewhat serious, he created an environment where I felt comfortable, cared for, and respected.
My thyroid has been completely removed so I need careful supplementation. Mamish refused to see me or have lab testing done more than 1 each 6 months. He Cancelled 2 appointments so first appointment was not until 8 months following, at which time he was not even in office and relegated me to nurse practitioner . Thyroid became extremely low ; my primary physician had to order tests ;she was alarmed and immediately increased my levothyroxine dosage. Mamish is indifferent and incompetent.
I have been a patient of Dr. Mamish for about six months now. He treats me because of my Addison's disease which requires me to be on steroids for the rest of my life to live and I'm only 29! With that comes frequent blood work as well as the occasional ultrasound! Dr. Mamish is very direct and spends a lot of time with me every time I see him which is about every three months! He cares greatly for his patients but he requires his patients to work with him to improve their overall health!
I sent my records to him as requested and after viewing them he decided there was no need to see me. He didn't ask any medical questions as to what was going on like; Feeling bad, fatigued, can't lose weight, just going through the motions of life. I don't think you find any of the out of lab work. I wanted to go to him since he came highly recommended from some friends that use him. So frustrating and very disappointing and this took 3 weeks ugh

I had 1 visit with him and that was enough to know that he didn't care about helping me at all. I am a Type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump. After waiting almost 1.5 hours to see him, he was in and out in 5 minutes. The only question he asked was what my blood sugars usually run. I told him and he said ok. Keep doing what you are doing and walked out. No lab work ordered , and he charged my insurance for a 90 minute office visit, which I disputed. Stay away from this guy.
Dr Mamish got me through thyroid cancer and I think he's a great dr. My problem is with their scheduling. It's hard to get an appointment and then they reschedule nearly every appointment and don't bother to call. Instead they send a letter in the mail the day before your appt telling you some new date and time. The last time it was for a month later. I had one time where they rescheduled me 3 times! And wait times are horrible. Something needs to change. It's a shame because Mamish is great.

I was so afraid today and to top it off the referring doctor didn't inform Dr. Mamish that I had a growth on my thyroid. Dr. Mamish said no problem. He did an ultrasound on site and found two nodules and did a biopsy. He didn't hurt me and he was kind. I feel confident in his care. Thank you Dr. Mamish.

He is a terrible doctor. I have gained 145 lbs over 9 years. He shrugged and told me to eat less and move more. Now that I have more information, I looked back over the bloodwork, and surprise surprise. I had two borderline hypothyroid numbers (my sister has Hashis and has for many years!!) and my cortisol was too high for the time of day. Yet he brushed me off totally and didn't check other hormone levels that should have been checked. Terrible doctor. Please avoid!!!

You see the nurse practioner after you have your thyroid removed. Plan on spending at least an hour in the waiting room. Then when they stick you in a room, plan on being in there at least an hour before you see anyone. I have been there 8 times, this has happened every time. Obviously my time is not as important as theirs.
