Very informative. Pleasant to be around - very like able.

Dr. Han was thorough and very compassionate as were his surgery staff. They treated me as if I were their only patient and followed up with me.

After breaking my wrist in several places, the emergency medical staff at Mercy One referred me to Dr. Han. Dr. Han performed surgery on my wrist and in addition to his medical expertise, he and his staff treated me with kindness and compassion.

I had a painful burning in my thumb - wrist area, hurt to twist caps or lift items, appointment was made quickly upon my Doctors referral, got into my appointment after a very short wait time, had an x-ray, saw the Dr very soon after, had a good conversation regarding my issue, was diagnosed & received treatment- very pleasant experience & I had total trust in Dr. Han.

Went in for pain in thumb joint. Doctor Han is very efficient, but not personable. He did spoke too fast and did not tell me the risks of the injection he gave me but the notes in the chart say he did.

Dr Han evaluated me honestly and professionally and discussed the possible treatment options. He overwhelmingly agreed with my decision and plans to actively follow my progress.

Dr. Han did carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands (5 weeks apart). I always felt that I was in great hands and have had wonderful outcomes with both of my surgeries. Thanks to Dr. Han and the Iowa Ortho team!!

This was the first time we dealt with Iowa Ortho Initial exam went well The following morning I had the surgery all the help worked as a well oiled machine Dr Han was exceptional My only suggestion to improve would be cleaning of the exam rooms at Pleasant Hill facility they were not bad but could be improved

Dr. Han is very good at what he does. Straight forward, to the point, & answers any questions w/o “beating around the bush”. All very refreshing. Wait time wasn’t terrible but I feel like there was quite a bit of unnecessary delay getting back to be prepped for surgery.

I saw Dr Han for pain in my forearm for a work comp referral. He diagnosed me with lateral epicondylitis. Despite me telling him Im sure this stems from repetitive movements from work and had no trauma to the area he asked me In an accusatory what activities I did that may have caused my injury. Even bringing up that there was a storm and I must have some cleaning up as far as yard work. Essentially trying to pin point a reason that my injury was not work related. Weirdly enough he requested that I get an ergo evaluation of my work station. He also gave me no prescription for pain relief, no therapy, etc. He also decided that my injury was not work related so I went to my GP who said it’s 100% work related and sent me to PT. The lady who handles Dr. Hans work comp could not get any further information as to why he made this decision and his nurse never returned my call either. I think Dr. Han realized because there was no surgery for me that he could not make money on me. Horrible Dr

I'm really Thankful for the referral to Dr. Han. He got me in right away, even I know he has a busy schedule. He also has great friendly staff.

I arrived before the appointment time, was ushered in quickly. Dr. Han walked in at just about the appointment time. He was pleasant as he checked my hands to see what was causing the pain that I was experiencing. He gave me his diagnosis, and recommended some changes in my activity. I'm going to give those a try.

I knew his cultural background so his personality is what I expected. On my second visit I took in a copy of my xray and made him explain. And made him answer my questions.

We had a very positive experience with Dr. Han and would highly recommend him to our friends and family. He took the time to draw a diagram to show our son what was causing the pain in his hand. Dr. Han provided clear and detailed information about our son’s injury. We found Dr. Han to have a very pleasant bedside manner and a great sense of humor as well. With 3 kiddos and multiple moves through the years, we’ve seen MANY different doctors. I can honestly say that Dr. Han was one of the best we’ve had the pleasure of seeing. He took time to listen and made sure that we ALL understood the information he provided.

I had quick visits for shots in my hand for pain. The cause of the pain was unclear. After shot #2 I was not receiving any relief. I had an appointment to discuss other options and opted for 1 more injection to see if I could avoid surgery. Dr. Han had a difficult time finding the right area and probed painfully trying inject again. I ended up on exam table nearly passing out. Severe pain and bruising followed. Do not recommend for surgery if injections were challenging for him.

Was very disappointed. He was rude, arrogant, and had no bedside manner. He did not appear to care or show any sympathy for the situation.

I love Dr. Han; he saved my finger tip when it was "fixed" by the ER doc. Every time I had to get a Cortisone shot for my arthritic thumbs he was spot on. I can see where his bedside manner can be brief, but that is just his style. I plan on having surgery on both hands performed by him.

Horrible expierence! He has horrible bedside manner, he doesnt ask how your doing or how your pain is and when you bring it up he just dissmisses it all. My pain and numbness has increased imensily since i had the surgery and all he has to say is he does not know why and that he has not damaged anything. I now have numbness and tingling . i was released to go back to work the day after surgery and can not get anything other than tylenol for pain.

Could not imagine a worse experience with a surgeon. Like others here said, he does not listen and blames the patient for bad outcomes. Does he have any idea how bad his patients fare in the long run?

I hope others report their long term outcomes with this surgeon. Yes, he dismisses concerns, is annoyed with questions, etc. But four months after surgery, my hand is not good. At my final appointment, he suddenly diagnosed me with a “rare, genetic” disorder, seemingly to explain a bad surgical outcome. Said this disorder makes fingers curl. My only "curling" finger is one he put screws in. Now I'm headed to UI. Also, Board of Medicine pays attention when many complain about bedside manner

Go elsewhere for carpal tunnel surgery. I saw Dr. Han for maybe 5 min and he was so rude. My hand still hurts. Worst of all refused to give me any time off. I worked in a factory, I could not use my hands! I feel this ruined my recovery.

Do not go to Han. Find a different hand surgeon.. I was referred to him by urgent care and regret not simply going elsewhere. He may be a competent practitioner, but he is the worst kind of doctor. Horrible bedside manner, dismisses concerns, does not listen, annoyed by any questions and arrogant. Isn't focused on your injury and rambles on about other things. Gives an otherwise good clinic a bad name.

This guy should NOT be practicing medicine. Like another person said he could careless what you have to say and makes a mockery of your injury. If your referred to him demand ANOTHER Dr. This guy is a joke.

I had excellent results with Dr. Han. He is professional, has a wonderful bedside manner, and I wouldn't recommend any other hand surgeon.

I had broke my scaphoid bone and Dr. Han was awesome! He kept an eye on it throughout the healing process.

Each time I have been seen by Dr. Han he does not listen to concerns and does not diagnose the root cause of the pain. He gives you 10 minutes of his time tops and sends you on your way without any thorough explanations on what steps are next to relieve the pain. There are plenty of other ortho surgeons in the Des Moines area that have 5 star ratings. There is a reason you have a 2.6 star rating.
