Dr. Ying Peng

Beyond 5 stars. Dr. Peng has been a huge blessing to our family. Our three year old son started having unexplained seizures and Dr. Peng worked to see us quickly, get us the testing he needed and was the most caring and compassionate physician my husband and I ever encountered. To say she goes above and beyond for her patients is an understatement. Luckily all our son's turned out well but he needed medication for his seizures and Dr. Peng has been with us every step of the way. As a mother this was one of the hardest times in my life but I knew my son was in the best hands and Dr. Peng was so kind to my husband and I. If anyone is in need of a neurologist, Dr. Peng is by far the best and I truly can't tell you what she means to our family.

Avoid this doctor. Dr, Peng prescribed Methylpenid to my son who was diagnosed ADHD by her. My son suffered from hallucination, OCD and depression for more than half year after he tried this medication but she refused to see him again.

Dr.Peng is the best doctor! She saw my daughter within hours of being referred. She will go the extra mile to help with insurance denials. She treats each patient like her own. I highly recommend her!!!

If I can give this office/ doctor zero stars I would. Very unprofessional and all they worry about is getting paid. They denied service for my child over a $40 copay. Mind you we are living in a crazy time right now and all we are doing are zoom calls that she is literally spending not even 5 minutes on the call. You know what our call was about... the virus and how kids might be going back to school. Nothing to do with my childs health or what’s the next step. Her office workers called me at 4:20 the time of my zoom call with the doctor to collect a copay. They couldn’t bill it nor could we get on the phone with the doctor until the $40 was paid. It was beyond disgusting and unprofessional. They don’t care about your child’s health they care about getting paid. I suggest you find a better office/ doctor that’s way more understanding and professional... oh yeah and more knowledgeable let not forget that. Dr Peng and her staff (specifically Beth) have gone above and beyond to help us in many situations. Her expertise as well as her kind and caring bedside manner are all five star. She always makes us feel heard regarding all issues of concern and addresses them clearly and individually. Both of my kids see Dr. Peng for different issues and all of our experiences have been positive. We have and will continue to recommend Dr Peng Neurology to friends and family. Dr Peng has been my sons neurologist for over 10 years . She is attentive and knowledgeable and always available to us . We recommend her to anyone needing care . She will spend the time you need to get the answers you deserve and then help find solutions to the issues. I rarely wait more than 10 mins to see her but even if I had to i would never complain as it is not because she is not working hard for another patient and she has helped up immensely over the years allowing my son to grow and meet his potential. I drive over 2 hours each way to see her and will continue to travel to get such great care.

I have been going Dr. Peng for years. She is very caring and actually listens to you. She is always accommodating with my hectic schedule. I highly recommend going to Dr. Peng!

This doctor listens, reviews previous history and is courteous. I am shocked to read other posts because from my experience, she has ALWAYS been there for me. Thanks to her my headaches have decreased significantly.

We waited over an hour after our appointment time to even be seen. What is the point of the appointment???

Brought my son in for headaches and Dr peng prescribes 4 tests for him: X Ray. MRI. MRA and Another monitoring device, our costs ended up being 3500$+. Ridiculous

AVOID THIS DOCTOR!!!! My daughter and I saw her for the possibility of CRPS. She doesn’t listen, doesn’t review documents and seems to be limited in her education. We had the same experience as Brian; we waited in the waiting room, moved to another room for 30 minutes (our appt was at 10:30am, we didn’t see her until 11am). She finally came in and got us, did not apologize for being 30 minutes late and then brought us in her office where she did a very quick examination on Lauren. Had I not mentioned complex regional pain syndrome on the paperwork, she might not have had anything to discuss with us. She seems very uneducated and has a very poor bedside manner. Dr Pengs assistant has been rude from day 1 in the way she speaks to patients. We had a family emergency and before even asking for an explanation I was told we will be charged a 100 dollar no show fee. Meanwhile we are sitting in mission hospital while my daughter was supposed to be having her appointment time waiting to hear about the status of my father who was medi-vaced there in a coma in critical condition. When I told them what was going on and was willing to provide proof of the situation I was informed that from the time my daughter started seeing the doctor which was years ago there was a history of 3 no shows in there system which if we have ever needed to RESCHEDULE we had done so at least 24 hrs before and never not called or not shown up. I am a single mother of 2 children and we have had to reschedule in the past but never without providing notice until this point. I already had concerns about Dr. Peng and after I shared the advice and treatement given to my daughter at this facility with another pediatric doctor and personal friend he suggested we request a second option referral from her doctors of which we were granted given the information the primary care doctor reviewed. When we brought up concerns about the causes of my daughters seizures which had been brought to our attention by a pediatric neurologist at a hospital earlier this year when my daughter was hospitalized to Dr. peng she immediately dismissed the other doctors recommendations for additional tests to determine the cause of her seizures. There was also another time when we were sent a document with the wrong medication and dosage listed on a document to be provided for a seizure action plan. I had to call the office and point out that this was not even a medication she was taking let alone incorrect dose. They emailed me back a corrected version after my call. Just honestly havent had a good feeling about the doctor and staff and should have listened to that gut feeling years ago when we began seeing her. Grateful for the advice of the primary care to obtain a second opinion along w family friends that are physicians. I would never recommend this doctor or office to any friends or family. I have been needing to post. We are very thankful to have found Dr. Peng. She takes the time to listen and understand what is really going on with us. She is a very compassionate Doctor. I have seen many doctors for various health conditions and Dr. Peng is one of the most compassionate out of the group. If you have current doctors/specialists you know the importance of a caring and knowledgeable Doctor that doesn’t make you feel like another number. She spends the extra time, orders the necessary testing, and is very throrough going through our history and current needs. The staff is attentive as well. There are only a few so you know them by name. They attend to the dirty work with insurance and set up appts for other tests needed in a timely manner. Dr.Peng is truly the best physician that we have met for the past 15 years! I have two special needs children. The oldest one is 19 years old with severe autism, severe self injurious behaviors, and insomnia. We have been seeing Dr.Peng since 2015. My oldest son now has more than 2000 vocabularies, the self injurious behaviors has drastically reduced. Above all,he is not staying up all night anymore. ! Dr.Peng treated my sons as if they are her own children. She definitely cares addresses to all our concerns. We are so blessed with such a knowledgeable, loving physician. My youngest son Matthew has ADHD. He used to display violent behaviors with mostly failing grades at school. After several treatments with Dr.Peng , he now has straight “A”’s except for P.E. Matthew now has friends at school and plays with his peers. We highly recommended Dr.Peng to all families who are going through hardships. She definitely makes a huge difference!!! Thankful for Dr Peng’s expertise, diligence and kindness in caring for our son through some very tough times. The only Dr ever who stayed in a hospital room during a medical procedure to comfort him while having a meltdown. She took the time to connect with my son so when she sees him he will talk to her and allow her to help him. She has referred him to specialists when needed to ensure the caliber of care he receives is very high. We drive a long distance to attend appts with Dr Peng and staff accommodate our schedule. If we are caught in traffic or unable to make appt there is never an issue if the reason is out of out of our control unlike some other providers we have seen in past. Dr. Peng has been such a blessing in our lives. We have two daughters with a very rare disease. Our oldest daughter, Cali (now 20 years old) was misdiagnosed for 14 years and when our third (youngest) daughter, Ryann was born with same symptoms the doctors suggested aggressive steroids and treatments that could have been detrimental to our new baby's life. Dr. Peng happened to be the doctor on call at the hospital the next morning and she took the time to sit with us for hours and go through all of our oldest daughter's medical records. She determined that our baby did not need these aggressive treatments and the symptoms she was showing were actually a possible rare genetic disease. She was right! Years later when exome sequencing became available we found our diagnosis and it was in fact a very rare genetic disease. We say that she basically saved our baby's life. We have continued to see Dr. Peng for 10 years now. Both Cali and Ryann continue with her treatment. She is the most thorough and attentive doctor we have ever seen and we have seen A LOT of doctors over the last 20 years!! She is always current on research and developments and open minded to find the best answers to help our little girls. Having a very rare disease (15 known patients know worldwide right now) is so scary. Having Dr. Peng on our team has put our minds at ease because we know that she is providing the best possible care!! I highly recommend Dr Peng for complete and comprehensive neurology care. She has always been available, accommodating and willing to listen to what I say and seek out diagnoses that are confirmed with appropriate testing to support the diagnosis. She has always spent quality consultation time with us and truly listened to what we said and explained each step in my sons care fully and in an understandable way seeking a course of action we were able to implement. Highly recommend Dr Peng!

Do not go to this doctor. She doesn’t listen, she told me my daughter has ADHD and only sat with her for 10 minuets, and that’s after we had to wait in her boring office for an hour before she actually put us in a room to wait for another half hour. She never let me or my daughter finish a sentence before she interrupted us with her own ending to our sentence. I would never recommend this person and it’s sad that people would listen to her. Very nice and professional doctor and friendly staff.

Our experience with Dr. Peng was amazing, helpful, and comforting. After our child was mis-diagnosed by another doctor (with HFA), we sought a second opinion with Dr. Peng. She took the time to not only talk with us parents, but to actually try to communicate with our child. The experience with Dr. Peng was reassuring and our child actually likes talking with her. I highly encourage you to meet with Dr.Peng should you have a need to do so.

Careless and wanted to charge me to fill out a school seizure action plan form! No other Dr charge for this! She also refused to give my child rescue meds after diagnosing epilepsy!

Dr. Peng is truly a phenomenal, highly experienced professional. Her diagnosis of my daughter's symptoms was astounding and I'm only sorry we didn't see her sooner. She is personable, friendly and makes your child at ease. Have seen other specialists and she is definitely the best.
