Yevgeniy A Khavkin

Dr. Khavkin did my initial back surgery in 2019, which was a lower lumbar fusion. I spent 20 months trying to recover but after a brief period of feeling good, things started going. I ended up on 150 pills of Oxycodone per month and was walking with a cane, and the only thing I could do was to sit and lie down. After several new opinions, I went to the Nevada Spine Institute. They determined that the bone never fused and that I needed corrective surgery. I underwent a double back surgery Nov 2021, where using robotic surgery, they replaced the failing hardware, installed new, and used the robots to build a cage inside me. I was up and walking within hours of both surgeries. I now have zero pain in my back, am able to walk without a walker or cane, and feel 20 years younger. I would strongly recommend you seek second, third and fourth opinions at all cost. I regret putting as much faith in Dr. Khavkin as I did. Buyer beware!

Wonderful doctor and great staff. Very personable, made sure all of our questions were answered. After reading some reviews, we were hesitant. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish.

Dr. Khavkin is a phenomenal surgeon with amazing bedside manner. I had a lower lumbar fusion with him with great results. My issue is with his office staff. IF you can get a phone call back to get in to see him it’s great. In August of 2020 I booked a follow up appointment with him. The day prior to the appointment I was told he would not be in the Las Vegas office but instead in Arizona. As I was traveling from out of town I opted to make the drive to the Arizona clinic. About October of 2020 I received a bill for 3,000 times my copay and come to find out he is out of network in the Arizona office. I have repeatedly attempted to contact the office manager to discuss options, on a weekly and sometimes biweekly basis, with not a single phone call back. It truly is a shame since the physician is such an amazing surgeon but with the inability to get a call back or the office staff to return phone calls consistently I will not be retuning to his office.

Dr. Khavkin is professional,knowledgeable, down to earth and have a caring attitude twards the health and wellness of His patients. He consulted me about my lumbar condition, set me up for physical therapy closed to my home and got it done in a timely manner. I strongly recommend Dr. Khavkin to others seeking help. Dr Khavkin saved my life in 2015 in emergency surgery for hemorhaggic stroke. In 2018 he performed cervical and lumbar surgery taking away 17 years of pain and I have range of motion that my prior surgical consults could not give me.He's my angel. God Bless Him.

He does horrible surgery and I had to get another surgery done since he was too incompetent to do it correctly the first time! Run!!!

Dr Khavkin did a fusion in my cervical spine and he did a great procedure. The scar in my neck is minimal. His staff has been very helpful in after care.

I trust Dr Khavkin with my life. He has performed my cervical C4-C6 with a C6-C7 revision and my L4-S1. I chose him over another top rated Nuerosurgeon because of his expertise and professionalism. If I should need him in the future, I would not hesitate to travel across country to do so. His staff is courteous and efficient. Nicole goes the extra mile to ensure your hospital and rehabilitation is chosen for your needs.

I personally have recommended at least 12 friends to Dr. Khavkin. He had to operate on three of them. One surgery to remove tumors from the skull, one for a horrible back, and the third for a spinal cord tumor. Dr. Khavkin absolutely saved her life. The other two surgeries were also successful. He refused to do surgery on several others, including myself thus far. Dr. Khavkin is not only a brilliant surgeon, he does everything possible to avoid surgery. I cannot say enough good about the man.

The clinic does not practice social distancing at this Covid times! His wait times are horrific! The clinic is so unorganized! The doctor rushes through your appointment. I definitely have zero confidence in his skills!

I’m super grateful to Dr Khavkin for such amazing results after successful spine fusion surgery. After 3 months of excruciating pain in lower back and left leg, he saved my life and I’m pain free and able to walk, work and even exercise just months after surgery! Other doctors were all about treating the symptoms, not root of the problem, drug money and had no skills to help me. Dr Khavkin was straight forward, honest and I’m so happy to be able to live my life again pain free. Thank you!!! ??

I lived with neck pain for years and when it finally locked up and hurt so bad I was forced to do something, a different Dr. told me it was just a fluke. Eleven months later I saw Dr. Y Khavkin and he ordereda n opertaion immediately to repair bad disks opinching spinal cord. Personnel at surgery center were fantastic, and no pain immediately after operation. I receommend the entire Khavkin clinic to anyone needing good care and advice.

Went in for surgery Dr cut artery in my neck bled out and died had to call in another surgeon to fix artery had 3 strikes left side of brain in coma for 5 days never go back or recommend to anyone

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO OR RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC TO ANYONE. My procedure appointment took 5 weeks to make as staff NEVER called me back. Arrived on time, confirmed the appointment with office manager made for TODAY -- they said it was for tomorrow! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! The staff is completely inept and I have ZERO confidence my surgery would be handled professionally or appropriately. The don't return calls and make false promises of help that NEVER come true. As a side note, a prisoner in shackles was taken back in a room with guards. It was very uncomfortable for the patients to see guards with guns and a prisoner waiting with other patients. I stood at the desk for 10 minutes - they had no idea who I was or why I was there. Yet, was PROMISED an appointment that never happened that is a precursor to surgery. HORRIBLE experience and huge waist of time. This staff deserves an 'F' in patient. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Dr Khavkin correctly diagnosed my husband's issue after a hospitalization and more than six months of treatment by other doctors. While my husband's congenital condition is extremely rare, Dr. Khavkin operated and successfully removed a fistula located within and around my husband's spine. We only wish Dr Khavkin had been the original neurologist on my husband's case so as not to have lost so much time and functionality. Only time is going to tell if he will regain back use of his legs.

Dr. Khavkin saved my mother's life. She diagnosed with the posterior meningioma (brain tumor) that was located in a very dangerous spot. Dr. Khavkin immediately scheduled the surgery and was able to operate on her within a short time constraint. His bedside manner and caring attitude put us at ease immediately. The brain surgery lasted 8 hours, but was a complete success! My mom had no loss of vision, hearing, or feelings in her body parts. We are forever grateful to Dr. Khavkin and his team!

Within 60 days of meeting Dr K (and providing 3-yrs of history) I had a lumbar fusion of L3-L5, associated facetectomies, laminectomies, forminotomies, and 2-diskectomies and replacements. After 2-years on walkers and canes I was able to stand fully upright on the evening of my surgery. My reliance on Oxycodone and Morphine post surgery ended within weeks. DrTakagi and MrPope assisted (their 125% bills were surprises) as did RedRockNeurodiag.LLC for EMG (+SURPRISE:$12,500 out of network/pocket!)

I recently had a lumbar fusion, L4,5, and S1. Dr. Takagi fixed me! I put this surgery off for a decade because I was afraid and now I wish I would have done it so much sooner. The staff is also very kind and organized. I couldn’t be happier!

I needed back surgery. Dr Kavkin is amazing! I am 3 days out of surgery and doing great! No pain or numbness. Thank you for making everything easy on me and my family!

The best Neurologist in Nevada if not the world! Probably the most humble and sincerely caring human I know. If you actually get to see him personally you will be blown away at his demeanor and how sincerely caring he is.

AFTER ''4 ''SURGERIES MY WIFE IS STILL IN SEVERE CRONIC PAIN HE OPERATED ON HER IN 2016- AND 17, SHE HAS LOST HER FULL QUALITY OF LIFE, SHE IS IN A WHEEL CHAIR AND LIVING ON PAIN PILLS , SHE HAS EVEN HAD A PAIN PUMP IMPLANTED IN HER,,THINK TWICE BEFORE DOING ANY BACK SURGERY, HIS LAST TALK WITH HER AT THE HOSPITAL ,HE SAID I WILL NEVER TOUCH YOU AGAIN AFTER THIS 4th SURGERY,, BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR..

Dr. Khavkin's L1-S1 fusion left my mother with excruciating pain, new-onset high blood pressure, & crippling symptoms such as spontaneous rib fractures due to her back bending & fracturing at L1. It was so poorly done & left her in such bad shape that no other surgeon was willing to risk operating on her. This man's objectives are status and money alone. He does "big", unnecessary, & unsafe surgeries. He looks great on paper, but he does not care or have the know-how to perform well in the OR.

WORST DOCTORS OFFICE IN LAS VEGAS. GO THEIR AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

I love love love Dr.Khavkin. My husband has spinal stenosis and I'm the last 3 years has had 3 MAJOR different surgeries by Khavkin and ALL have been successful. The spine and brain are nothing to joke about and it's a relief to have a surgeon that knows his stuff!! Yes it's still Major surgery but when your in Dr.Khavkins hands there's no worries!! Yes he may not spend that much time talking with you but please believe me that shouldn't be on how you judge him!! his work should. Awesome!!

I feel so fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Khavkin. He shows confidence in his abilities. His medical assistants are top notch. 2 weeks after c5 c6 c7 surgery, I'm well on my way to living pain free.

What a poor doctor.. Yevgeniy Khavkin shouldn’t be a Doctor. He doesn’t care about his patients. He spends very little time in the room and makes you wait a long time.. like he’s busy I highly doubt it.. I unfortunately had surgery by this guy last year and he did a poor job. I’ve had about 10 other surgeries because of his failures. How can you miss a bone spur in my neck that was present on the pre-op MRI and don’t remove it? Plus you damage my vagus nerve. Really... He shouldn’t be a doctor.

He spent less than one minute speaking to me, he came in the room stated his diagnose, and asked if I wanted him to fix me, like he could walk on water. Wanted to do bone grafts, etc.. Said he would come back, didn't, his assistant came back. Went to a different Doctor, who I will stay with. Would never go back to him or recommend him to anyone.

Dr Khavkin took one look at my MRI and knew immediately what I needed. I had lower back pain from an injury sustained in Iraq 10 years ago, recently within the last year I also developed some pretty agonizing sciatic pain in my entire right leg. He performed a spinal decompression and fusion surgery on my L5-S1 disc. It's been a little more than 2 weeks since the surgery and all my sciatic pain is completely gone and I'm feeling amazing. He nailed the diagnosis and did amazing.

Dr. Khavkin preformed my discectomy surgery to remove my lumbar herniated disc material that was pressing on my nerve root causing major sciatica pain. Starting having issues early December 2016 was referred to Dr. Khavkin middle of January and had surgery few weeks later. I'm happy to report that less then two weeks I was back to normal life with minimal discomfort. It's now one month later and I am totally pain free! I highly recommend Dr. Kavakin for any back/spine procedures you may need.

I am a 70 year old male and came to Dr. K last fall for a surgery evaluation. I have suffered from lower back pain from a football injury . Despite keeping in shape through swimming I began to develop more symptoms that threatened my mobility. Dr. K said that I was a good candidate for a TILF at two levels, L4 to L5 and L5 to S1. I had the procedure last Nov. and almost immediately noticed that my back, leg, and foot pain abated. Dr. K and his team did a great job and I am now pain free.

Dr khavkin performed an amazing emergency craniotomy on our so march 2016 after a near fatal car accident. His excellent technique and personable follow up are commendable. Our son is completely recovered and we are grateful to him for saving his life.

I've had two surgeries with this doctor the first one was done by AP Dr Takagi one of the doctor kept his surgeons it was a fail he just came out and it was we had to have a second surgery the pain was unbearable and after being at home calling and calling for days trying to get assistance they would not accept my calls anymore and they told me that it was up to the ER to take care of my pain I would never go to the doctor ever again

I am so blessed that that I found Dr. Khavkin to fix my lower spine! The pain was gettting real bad ,real fast. I knew that it would have to be surgically fixed.I talked with several people waiting..yes waiting, in the room for the appts. I seen no one out of line or complaining about the wait.They all knew that the wait was well worth their health and care they were getting !! Just read the articles on the walls.. you will know the REAL character of the man you are trusting with your health.

after 40 years of lower back problems and a previous spinal surgery I came to Dr Khavkin. He fused 3 lower lumbars and added titanium support. It is now a little over a year from surgery and I am amazed at how good I feel.

On 7/ 23/ 2015 I fell in my home and sustained a cranial bleed resulting in a hemorrhage to the right temporal lobe and a stroke. I was rushed into emergency brain surgery which was performed by Dr Khavkin and his team around midnight. I am so fortunate, blessed and overwhelming grateful for the timing of EMT's the rapid response and extraordinary skills of Dr Khavkin and his team. Not only did I survive, I have my full cognitive function, precious memories, and my ability to live independent.

My pain level was a ten for eight years before I decided to undergo surgery due to an accident I had in 2007. I finally decided I could no longer stand the pain in my lower four lumbar discs. Several surgeons told me surgery was not a possibility prior to meeting Dr. Khavkin. He stated he could bring me down to a 2-3 pain level. After a 4 1/2 hour surgery and almost a year I am in as much or worse pain than before. I use a cane a lot, and pain relievers. He could care less. Very sad.

I found Dr. Khavkin to be the type of Dr. We seldom see anymore. The patient comes first. He is an xlnt surgeon. He did my Lower Lumbar surgery with no problems post operative. I highly recommend him for any and all back or ???????? Problems. He will continue to be my Dr. His staff is xlnt. You may have to wait awhile for your appt. But plan on it, it's worth the wait. He will give you the same time you need w/ him..

Stay away.. Absolutely the worst doctor. After 2+ hour wait he came in not prepared at all. Never even looked at any of my records or ct/mri films I was told I must bring with me. He asked me several times what insurance I had and what type of attorney I worked for? If it is possible to give minus zero ratings I would!!

I'm in the Neuri ICU on Sunday, had tumor removed last Friday. Felt good enough to sit in a chair for 4 hours. Pain management is great. If you have a brain tumor, you want Dr. Khavkin and his staff at Khavkin Clinic on your side. Words fail me but lemme say every step of the whole process has been smooth, all questions answered and we knew what was to occur in advanced. Doctor told my husband he got the tumor out - and you can't get any better than that! God bless Dr. Khavkin and his DreamTeam

3 major back surgeries in 13 mths. When they told us they wanted to schedule a 4th even bigger one after a noticeable rod from the hardware was pushing thru my husbands back i was dumbfounded. I was wondering if it dawned on the surgeons that his body was going thru too much in too short of time and why would you go bigger if rods and screws keep coming out. Dr. Takagis bed side manner is to be desired, maybe that comes in time when you experience your own health issues. Research! Ask questions!

Plan to wait a minimum of 1 hour 30 minutes. I have had to wait this long on each of my three visits. One patient told me she waited 4+ hours once. The waiting room is SRO. Then they have the audacity to post on their tv, Our business grows from your referrals.

I had been a patient of Dr. Khavkin's for my low back. Then I found myself having terrible pain radiating down my arm. I was able to get in quickly to see Dr. Khavkin after an MRI showed a herniated disc in my neck. I had surgery to remove the disc. The surgery was very successful, I am pain free in my neck. I had no post-op problems. Dr. Khavkin and his staff took great care of me. I highly recommend him and his team (they are great).

From my very first appointment I was treated with total respect and kindness. Dr. Khavkin was personable, professional, and not patronizing. He listened to me and was extremely sympathetic to my fears of having to have surgery. Once the surgery was scheduled, I never felt out of the loop; I was completely taken care of. The anterior cervical discectomy and fusion has been so far (8 months out from sx) a success. I highly recommend Dr. Khavkin and his entire team.

I am a retired Radiologist. Dr. Khavkin did a three levels Cervical Spinal fusion on me. I am currently three months post surgery, fully recover with out residual pain. I am extremely satisfy with my post surgical result and follow up x-ray. I had severe cervical spine stenosis with large herniated disc, bony spurs and bar prior to surgery. From my own personal experience as a doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Khavkin.
